My wife and I hired Eli Gale, d/b/a Gale Contracting Services, to replace the flooring in our…read moremaster bedroom and bathroom. Within that job, he was also to replace our shower with a bathtub. His work was a disaster of epic proportions. Unfortunately Yelp is not loading the pictures of his work. Here is a description. Mr. Gale, installed four separate types and colors of tile on the wall, using material he had left over from prior jobs, and expected me to be ok with this mish mash of tiling he put on my wall. The tiles didn't match, it looked awful, and moreover the tiles are too heavy for the walls of my manufactured home. I had 5 contractors come look at and bid the job of fixing all of this, and all of them told us that the tiles would have caused the walls to collapse. I told Mr. Gale this was unacceptable and he would have to fix it. He then suggested installing a shower wall surround, to which I agreed, so as to just get the job done and move on. He said he would have to build a wall to provide the 3 sides necessary to install the wall surround. I agreed. Unfortunately Mr. Gale apparently does not know how to use a tape measure. He installed the new wall board horizontally, instead of vertically, and it left this big gap on the wall that he was apparently going to cut out pieces of wall board and put them in the gap. But the pieces he did cut and try to put in the holes he created weren't even cut to the size of the gap. The framing he did wasn't even the same height. Of course, the main part of the job, tearing out and installing new floor and subfloor, I haven't even addressed. While it seems that the floor he installed in the bedroom is ok, in the bathroom, the tile he installed in the bathroom also should not be used in a manufactured home. Every contractor who has come out to assess this job has told me that. It is already coming loose from the subfloor, and wasn't even installed properly. He did not remove the toilet or the cabinets before installing the floor, and he apparently thought that the cutouts of the tile around the cabinets and eventually the toilet, were an acceptable way to install a tile floor that I should be ok with. In sum, this man is completely incompetent. Do not hire him to do any work in your home.

During framing, I had to raise several quality concerns that should have been caught by the crew, including misaligned roof framing, multiple anchor bolts with a split bottom plates, boards not sitting flush, and general issues related to a rushed job. These were not cosmetic issues, but basic workmanship and quality-control items. They also committed to returning to seal around the windows and have not followed through, leaving that item unfinished. It's been over two weeks since final payment. My advice to future customers is to inspect the work carefully as it progresses and not make final payment until all punch-list items are fully completed and verified. Once payment is made, unresolved items may remain unresolved. I also recommend reading some of the more critical reviews, as similar themes appear there as well.

Netflicks (referral service), but I don't think it is spelled like that, but close.) gave him my name! And he came over that evening to give me an estimate. I wasn't impressed even from the beginning, but I did not follow my instinct which I usually do which tells me what I need to know about somebody at least their character. And I didn't do my three interviews, which I usually do. We made arrangements for him to start the next day, but I believe it was raining and it rained so much during the next three weeks we could not plant because the grass was too wet to cut. Zoyzia. And it was too late to plant. Finally started the last week of May. He was to cut a lot of of my shrubs back so the backyard would get more sun, lay down fresh soil all over the backyard after he churned it up. I forget what it's called. Tilling. OK. So the next day he sends over two very young people, a brother and sister. He had not even told the brother that they would be cutting all those shrubs back so the young man came unprepared, although he did it with the pair of pruning cutters. He worked hard and didn't complain and got the job done. I was later told that they were never told what they would be doing on a job just to go to a certain address. He had a tiller, but he barely turned up the dirt where he was to plant. Then the owner had not even delivered fresh dirt. The young man had to stop what he was doing and go to wherever you get fresh dirt and bring it back to put on the YARD. Well, he didn't get much you're supposed to put 4 inches down and I was lucky if I got 1 inch. I know I got 0 inches in some places. They didn't really know all about laying down sod!!! they didn't have a roller to smooth it out after they got it all laid, which attaches it to the dirt they were supposed to put in so roots can grow down into it. I have that hard clay muddy dirt that San Antonio has been blessed with!! you can imagine what that poor little ROOT has to go through to get through that down to the area where there's water. The owner never came out to check on him. LaTE in the day after these two young people had worked their little hearts out, two guys came over. I don't know, one was his brother I think, don't know who the other one was, and proceeded to help with the last bit of planting. (???). They did take all the shrubs they cut back away, cleaned up the front really well and were here till probably 8 o'clock at night. Then took the shrubbery he had cut back and dumped it. I'm hoping it went in the dump where it's supposed to go in the city. So the moral to my story is this. I would stay away from this group no matter what you want done they seem to advertise that they do a little bit of everything and yet know nothing about anything! The owner never returns phone calls. Never. I told him his Customer Service really sucked! And I meant that with a capital CS. Not sure you can count on him when it's not raining to be there when he says he will be or to be there on time or at least have someone there because he never showed up at my house. Those two kids did. Found out later the young lady hadn't even been paid weeks later. I mean, that is just horrible. It was hot. It was a really rough day for working outside all day. We Furnished ice and bottled water for them and a few snacks. But they were hard little workers and I told him so. Anyway, to make this long story short I don't care if you wanna remodel l, put in a new shower, landscape, whatever, please stay away from this company! Oh, and I forgot to tell you, they covered up my sprinkler heads with the grass they planted. Now I'm having to pay a sprinkler guy to come out and uncover them and put in new ones for those we can't find! COVERED THE SPRINKLER HEADS WITH THE GRASS!!!!! I could go on, but I won't. This man took advantage of my grandfather and my family. He continuously demanded checks while slowly emptying my grandfathers tool chest while working on our home. He also doesn't pay his workers, they do not receive adequate pay and do nearly all the work while the man stands around and runs his mouth. He had 3 other men working on our home at one point and some of them didn't get paid at all. He will lie and say he has experience and knowledge and even claim to be a tree doctor, but he helped me kill my grass and hibiscus quite quickly. He is not a carpenter, he is not a welder, he's a con artist that's currently lying in order to receive disability We trusted this man with our home and he created more problems than he helped with. He would come to us asking for $500, $1,500, $2,000 or $3,000 more saying he could not complete the work without the money He made us feel like we had no choice He also will try to coerce you into taking on projects and financial burdens you weren't prepared for, like demanding to start a project before you're ready. He gained our personal trust, he played on our sympathy, and once he realized he had it he took full advantage, thinking somehow my family would be a continuous income, like some kind of cash cow He will walk around your home and find problems that need fixing, he will bad mouth other contractors work so that you don't work with them, and he isn't good for his work. This man costed us even more money by breaking a fan he was supposed to install. He used plastic instead of metal to install it in an effort to cut corners. OIt fell out of the ceiling after he installed it and he then claimed "I didn't break it, why should I pay for a new one?" He also goes back on his word, promising certain features and amenities in projects, and when you go to remind him about what he promised to do, he'll tell you he'll only do it for another check What a crook
