This was the second time I ate pho here. First time the pho was fine. Today I ordered the same thing. Large pho with steak and meatballs. The soup was extremely salty. Like a brick of salt. I told waitress (old short Asian lady). You can see the nervousness on her face like she knew this was coming. She immediately took the soup to the back and brought it back. This time the noodles looked completely broken up. I told her "this looks you poured leftover pho from from previous customer and put it in mine." I took 2 bites and asked for her not to charge me. She started yelling and spazzing out. Just so she would calm down and stop spitting in my face while yelling I just paid my check and left. I didn't leave tip. The food is delicious over here. I come often to get the Singapore noodles, but everything is great regardless. Along with their specialty drinks! The Pho is okay, but I would rather go to Pho House for theirs but that's 20 mintues away. They are friendly people and the atmosphere is inviting. Nice place to sit and eat too. read more

One of top favorites. All the other cafe saigons are very sad compared to this one. Have tried eating at others and they are really crappy in comparison. The service is always great here too. Ordered for pick up and was surprised how little was in the container. I paid 12.95/13.95 each for two different dishes and the container was almost empty. WHAT A RIP OFF!!! This was my first time at this place and my last. Not being petty but, if your going to charge that much at least fill it 3/4 of the way not 1/4 of a container. The restaurant had lo mein noodles that were not over garlicky or spicy which my wife really enjoyed. Good food and attentive service on a Friday night. I had the Tom Yum soup, Num Tok/beef salad, and chicken Pad Thai. The Num Tok is worth coming here for. It's smoky, spicy, and well-balanced flavors of sweet, sour, and salty. The Pad Thai is a little sweeter and did not have the smokiness flavor that I like in my Pad Thai. read more

All 5 of us love to eat hear! We try to go during off times to avoid the lunch and dinner rushes, but any time you go the food is still going to make it worth it!! Pho is always good here! Their green curry with veggies & tofu is AMAZING! There curry noodles are really good! We have also tried the pad thai with chicken and tofu. Both are equally good. Decided to check this place out for lunch on a sleepy Sunday. I was seated promptly at a booth. I ordered the beef pad Thai. Honestly I have had trouble finding a place that makes pad Thai how I remember it when I lived on the west coast. This place did a great job of making it good. I also ordered the chicken satay but mostly for the peanut sauce it comes with and was pleasantly surprised! The peanut sauce was on point! The chicken was grilled and juicy. I liked that it was dark meat and not white meat. Chicken white meat is so incredibly overrated and overused. Definitely will be coming back to try the pho. Would've given it 5 stars but the waiter forgot to bring me the extra side of peanut sauce I asked for and by the time he remembered I had already finished, otherwise prompt efficient service. read more

I am not always in the mood for coconut milk, and I think Thai food usually has coconut milk. I have discovered that I like the popular dish that has basil and chicken or basil and beef. This location had one dish with basil and chicken and one with basil, tofu, and eggplant. I was interested in giving it a try so we went there last Sunday. I got the basil and chicken and my dish fed me twice and my husband once. It was HUGE. It was delicious. REALLY fresh- lots of veggies, basil balanced the heat pretty well. Not too hot- but I do like spicy. He ordered something green curry- green curry bowl I think. He liked it- I just wasn't in the mood for coconut milk. If you haven't had Thai Tea- order it. It might change your life. It's sweet. I sipped on mine for several hours. It's the best Thai Tea I have tasted. I will definitely be back. read more

Saigon Cafe has been my go to since I moved here in 2016. It took me a while to even come, as my experience with Vietnamese and especially Pho, was spiritual. I learned my experience at the hands of a little old vietnamese woman that worked 365 days a year, so to me her pho was special. So when I came to Saigon Cafe, I expected nourishment but not much on flavor. I could not have been any more incorrect. The broth here is tastes of experience. I'm not sure where the recipe came from but it has the complexity needed to create the flavors of a rich soup. The hints of cinnamon, clove, anise and onion make this broth a winner. I joked to the waitress that they must add crack to this broth because I crave it. She said 'like wake up in the middle of night and sweating cause you need it' kind of crave? Exactly! After reading the reviews, I guess we are not the first one to have the bug experience. So we ordered this SS2 Tom Kha (coconut chicken soup). After a sip, we discover a cockroach in our soup. The server took it back to the kitchen and then served the same thing again (with no apologies). For god's sake we all know its from the same pot of soup which the cockroach has been swimming in it. I have a friend from college up here as well. she asked "lets get together, grab dinner". i said "ok, you are vietnamese....take me to some good Pho". this was her choice. there are several locations when i pulled it up on google maps. this location is near the mall of georgia. at 5pm, 7 miles away, it took me 60 minutes to get here....60 minutes! that's how terrible suburbia traffic is. so before i even got there, i was a little peeved but that's not the restaurants fault. my friend was there with her family waiting on me. she said "it's one of the better places for good Pho". i had to agree, considering my knowledge of vietnamese food is very limited. i had a seafood soup with rice noodles and it was, in fact, very flavorful. huge portion of soup with lots of noodles, 2 crab sticks, 3 shrimp, 2 pieces of squid, and 3 spherical things i have no idea what they were. the meal was tasty! service was sparse. and curt. and i felt rushed to eat and pay. we stayed an extra 30 minutes because i haven't seen her or her family in over a year. go for the food, not the service. and go AFTER rush hour traffic! read more

A friend got me hooked on Pho a number of years ago. We frequented the same restaurant for a long time before I ventured out to have Pho at other Vietnamese restaurants. I realized very quickly Pho is not the same everywhere, and a dish I thought was great originally, only got better. I also experienced a few losers along the way. I have since eaten at every Vietnamese restaurant in Gwinnett at least a couple of times. I find Saigon Café to be the best all around contender of those. There was only one restaurant whose broth was superior, and they have since gone out of business. What keeps me coming back to Saigon time and time again is the friendly and welcoming staff, the value I get from the fair prices, the delicious and comforting food, the great atmosphere during lunch, and the consistency in all of the above each time I visit. More recently, I really love taking advantage of the weekly deals they come out with, and I have received A LOT of $5 off coupons for joining their free rewards program. I get paid to eat at my favorite restaurant.....doesn't get better than that! I should mention I've eaten over a dozen different entrées off both menus, but I always go back to the P1 and A3. read more

We ordered 2 Vietnamese style rice plates and they were mediocre. I had the Bo luc lac and the sauce was too heavy and salty for my liking. My husband had the grilled rice plate. The fish sauce was salty so I added lime and a bit of water to make it palatable. The amount of meat was also not substantial either. I can't say much about the other items on their menu. What a disappointing experience! It's really hard to believe that there's a restaurant like this in this Asian-rich Gwinnett area! The food tasted so inauthentic; I couldn't believe it. I ordered chicken pad Thai. They couldn't make it "less sweet", so I figured the sauce was all premixed (which is fine). Overall taste was simply awful. Noodles and Company would do a better job! Some mediocre grade ingredients over cheap pre-mixed sauce barely tossed together. Also, the portion size (it was dinner) is pretty small. Presentation is nothing special. Price is not low.
