After getting some appetizers and rushed at PF Changs to catch a movie, thought we would end our night with a spring roll and some shrimp and chicken Pho after the movie to finish our Asian fix for the night. Was going to grab some sushi but since we parked a ways from the door at the mall, we were a bit chilled so Pho sounded pretty good and quick. Will come again for dinner, but nice layout, clean and pretty busy place, service was a bit off but we didn't have drinks and only got 2 items quick and all was good. Saw some pretty good dishes I want to try when I go back as most seem to be enjoying it. Did see people waiting for their bill ( but spotted that coming in ) so when our food was delivered I asked for the bill so wasn't an issue. Will update again when we go for a full meal but have to say the spring rolls were super fresh and tasty!! The Shrimp and Chicken Pho had a ton of chicken and I spiced it up a bit with Shiracha so I was happy. Will be back for the full experience. read more

I remember the days when Saigon Cafe was decent. They are so water-downed now...literally. The Goi Cuon ($4.25 for 2) is your typical summer rolls with shrimp, pork, noodles and veggies (basil, lettuce, bean sprouts) except these did not have any basil and the bean sprouts were all chopped up. The signature peanut sauce is now straight up hoisin sauce with peanuts sprinkled on top. I got a small Pho Dac Biet for $7.95. There was a good meat to noodle ratio and the meat was fresh. However, the soup? It is literally JUST broth. Theres no spices used in the cooking of this soup. Save your money, go anywhere else but here. They have expanded their menu to include way too much and have strayed far from their roots. read more

This is a super convenient and pretty decent Asian restaurant. I say "Asian restaurant" because it has a variety of Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese fare. You can get any of your Asian faves like egg rolls, pho, curry w/rice dishes, or pad thai. Their beverage menu includes goodies like Thai tea, Vietnamese iced coffee and an assortment of smoothie and boba options. I've had both the pho and pad thai dishes here and prefer their pho. The pad thai is decent but the sauce is more of a sweet than savory and spicy sauce which is what I was expecting. The noodles were tender though. For pho I recommend their P1 which includes the full selection of beef in the form of thin steak slices, meatballs, and fatty brisket. I tried the Vietnamese iced coffee and it was very tasty and satisfying! The strong coffee is brewed by the mug, is served with yummy condensed milk and a tall cup of ice. Was an excellent addition to my meal! I appreciate their fair pricing. We were able to get an appetizer, 2 entrees and the iced coffee for about $27 before tip. Win! read more

Our hotel told us to try Saigon when we asked about vegetarian friendly food. The waiter was exceptionally helpful and told us that pretty much anything could be made with vegetable sauce. We chose the chow fun noodles and we also had sesame chicken made with tofu instead. Each dish was delicious. we also had vegetarian spring rolls and they were delicious too. Have always gone here for a quick pad Thai and bo luc lac. Always super friendly and quick. They are now open for dine in with limited seating. We opted for pick-up. I think for pick-up due to covid, they should do curbside pick up because it is a potential hazard coming in given how the dine in area is set up and where the cashier is located. I love the Pho here, it is easy to order and very accessible. If you are a pho novice, or Phovice, you can explore Asian flavors in an atmosphere that is non judgmental about a lack of knowledge. You can do it with an all English menu. I say that because, I am about as Anglo as you get and just want to understand what I am ordering. The fresh set-ups of sprouts, peppers and basil always please the eye and palate. The staff if friendly and understand if it takes a couple of minutes to get it together. It has one flaw, they tend to be a little scant on refilling your cola. Temper your use of peppers and Srirachi sauce according to the level of coke in your glass. read more

After walking around Mall of GA, I suddenly had a craving for some fresh made pad Thai. I usually stick to Trader Joe's version, but that gets boring after a while. So... Pho is hard to find here in the greater Atlanta area. And reviews are subjective since they are basically opinions of various individuals all with their own subjective tastes and subjective desires on what their own subjective expectations area. And there really isn't a known area where pho is best known to be unlike my former Detroit area where at a certain location where there's a hub of Vietnamese restaurants known for pho. And it doesn't matter where you're at here, whether ITP or OTP, it's hard to find a good authentic pho place. That being said, Saigon Cafe is one of the better places I've been to here that served decent pho. Pho needs to be graded on a few things. Broth Noodles Meat type Meat amount and overall flavor With Saigon Cafe's pho, it was good. The broth was filled with great flavor and is enhanced by the thai basil, lime, and chiles paste and/or Sriracha but never lost the initial broth flavor. The noodles are your average everyday rice noodles that pho is known for but this place cooks it just right to where it's not gummy. I always get the pho where you get all the meat so they did offer that. My only disappointment is they didn't give the sausage balls that I'm familiar with having. The meat amount is where I am not impressed with. Most pho places they give you copious amounts of the regulars such as thin cut brisket, tendons, tripe, and sausage. They did not have that here. You get tiny amounts of brisket, almost barely any tripe, no sausage, and maybe a tendon or 2. It causes a slight imbalance between the noodles and the meat which I found to be so disappointing. Overall flavor was great. I can't say that it was a blow your socks off pho since they skimped out on the protein elements but for your average pho, it wasn't bad. But I'm pretty sure with an area like Atlanta, there's gotta be something better than Pho24 or this place because it was just average. read more

I come here for the fast service and decent chicken Pad Thai. Even on a busy Friday night we got seated almost immediately and their staff took turns getting our order and checking on us. They have a great sense of urgency here and the follow thru is also reliable. I recommend adding the red chili paste provided on the table to your dish. It goes great with really any of their dishes. I came here after being persuaded into upgrading my wife and sons phones at the AT&T store next door! So I figured if THEY got a treat, I might as well get a treat too! But afterwards, I felt inspired to write a little rhyme. Would you like to hear it? --- ODE TO MY FIRST DINING EXPERIENCE Some steps were surely passed, To make this pho really fast The broth I just did not savor, It lacked that deliciously lingering flavor. Seemed to be made from an instant packet, but I don't really have any proof to back it. All I know is my tongue said to me "bruh, That was some epically average pho. If you plan on coming back here again, then find yourself a new tongue, my friend! You've given me other great pho to taste, it seems coming back here is a waste! Although this pho will do in a pinch, My cravings it did not quench. It's not bad, but also not great! And definitely not worth a long wait!" --- RETURN VISIT On my second visit a few days later I tried the Massaman Chicken Curry which is simmered in a sweet tamarind & coconut milk curry with sweet potatoes, diced onions, cashew nuts, and fresh avocado and served with steamed jasmine rice, soup of the day and a vegetable egg roll. While I would give that 3.5 stars, I likely would not order it again. Unlike the mango smoothies I get at I LUV PHO, Lotus Vietnamese and Pho Dai Loi, this smoothie is prepackaged and extremely sweet. Maybe a little too sweet, but I'm not complaining considering it came as a free check-in offer on my yelp mobile app. Overall the food is adequate, but with so many other choices within a reasonable driving distance, they would not be in my top 8 list. I do plan to come back and try the clear noodles the women at the table next to me raved about. According to her "these clear noodles take pho to a whole new level." I found out from my server they are potato based and gluten free (my wife will like that), so I'm eager to see if that is true. Then again, this woman thought the pho here is the best in metro Atlanta. FINAL THOUGHTS Moral of the rhyme: This is kinda like fast food pho on the go. Worst Pho I've ever had. I wouldn't say I've had Pho from every corner of the earth but this should have been just called "boiled water with some no flavor chicken" Pho....not Pho Ga at all. So it's starts with me walking into a pretty empty dining area (empty for 6-7pm I think). I get seated quickly and get told about the specials. I get my water prompt as well. Well since I knew what I was gonna have it too me a whole 3mins to pick on the menu. So I wait. And wait. My waitress is wandering the floor not noticing that I am ready to order yet. She wanders past me and off again...see ya! A man from the kitchen area comes to see me (is actually another waiter) and he takes my order. Spring Rolls w/ BBQ pork and veg(Thit Nuong Cuon), Pho Ga (Chicken broth Pho) & Tau Hu Ky (Tofu skin wrapped Shrimp paste)...and we are cooking. I make a quick run to the restroom to wash up and come back to find my Pho veggies and utensils on the table...nice. Well maybe. The Jalapeño & the Thai Basil were both wilting or turning brown(see pic I took) & the bean sprouts were heading towards that soggy limp look instead of crispy. I know you can't really die from this but thats the type of crap I'd eat at home if I was hungry, come on this is a business trying to serve up fresh food, or I think they are. So the food comes. The Pho as described above is less than average in taste. The Spring Rolls were decent and had a good flavor with the BBQ pork to assist in that. The peanut "sauce" dip for them was flavorful but had like that skin on it (I know gross right, but I am a dude I eat odd stuff) that went away with a quick stir. The veggies in the roll were also starting to head down deaths road...Hhmmm. Now the Tau Hu Ky this was the best tasting thing I had. For $3.95 I shoulda had 2-3 of this only. Crispy, full of flavor & not greasy, real nice. I never push a Pho dish away unfinished, this time I had to. I couldn't finish the food with the bland flavors (even doctored up). I should have known since I did not see any Asians eating there (maybe I missed them by 30mins) it could end up being an issue. When people of the same culture or region frequent the food spots of their family or roots, it is almost 100% a great place to eat. Rule of Thumb, no disrespect. Walking in was very pleasant. Got seated at a booth on the side. It was pretty busy for Saturday lunch. We had one lady take our drink order and a different lady bring out our drinks. I like the fact that they work as a team. The manager is such a sweet guy! I wish I got his name though. He is so Down to Earth. He took our order as well. I ordered the panang curry ( $9 ), comes with white rice, my fiancé ordered the pho dac biet ( $10 ), and my friend ordered the com bo luc lac ( $11 ). The panang curry wasn't spicy and I had asked for extra spicy, but the manager explained to me that he didn't want to kill the flavor or the curry which is totally understandable. The pho was very flavorful and it was on point with the broth! Bo luc lac was cooked to perfection and it also comes with fried rice which was okay. Yes I did try every single one of their plates lol. I definitely recommend each and every dish that we've tried above! Thumbs up! I have been to Saigon Cafe ( Duluth ) plenty of times and all those times I honestly did not like it at all. Service wasn't up to par and nor were their food. This is probably my first time being satisfied with the service and food! Manager was the absolute best and I was able to enjoy my whole plate of food!
