My husband and I went here last night for dinner. After reading good reviews, we thought we would make a departure from the place where we normally order Pho. Upon entering, the hostess seemed very flustered and just pointed to where we should sit. No biggie. But then when she came by to take our order, I knew what I wanted right away. After I ordered, my husband said he would like a few more minutes to decide what he wanted. She gave an audible huff and walked away. We were both dumbfounded at her response. Overall, the food was good and the flavor of the broth was lovely. The pho was decently priced, but we didn't get nearly as much meat in our bowl as our other Pho favorite. Would return, but will be prepared to order ASAP. ;) read more

Gosh! Had to go back to try their bun and their pho. Had the Prawn and Spring Rolls Bun. It was good. Lots of fresh vegetables. Had the Rare Beef and Beef Brisket Pho - really, really good broth. Crunchy bean sprouts, thai basil leaves, a wedge of lime and a Thai red pepper really makes the soup broth come to live! Huge portions of food! The place is so far the best in the nw that I have tried. There food dishes has flavor which I like. Also more selection than other Vietnamese restaurant in the nw that is good. A bit on the pricey side but it is fine if the food have flavor I'm willing to play. Nice modern place. Use to be a Chinese place and that place need updating. I Minus a star, is because when food was place on the table it felt like it was crowded or table was too small for the dishes. I seriously sat at a four person table and the time seem like our dishes was way to big. But food portion was a lot for a 1 person meal. Pho lobster was alright a lot of noodle for one lobster. But Wasn't sure I like the flavor of the soup it is not a pho place that for sure but I usually order or like mostly other dishes listed on there menu. Staff are always friendly. read more

absolutely delicious. We ate dinner here June 13, 2019 and were very impressed. The decor is very upscale compared to most Vietnamese restaurants. Check out the photos on their website. We ordered the dumplings which are very light (not doughy) and the dipping sauce flavorful. These were not too filling for an appetizer. For dinner I had the beef sate soup - the BEST. And my husband had the vermicelli dish with pork, chicken, beef and really liked it. The service was very good, the food came out quickly even though it was busy. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this new business to try. read more

Great pho! We shared the salad rolls and a bowl of pho. The salad rolls were good and held together well. They also give each person their own dipping sauce bowls! The portions are large, I would say that the bowl size is a about an extra large elsewhere and they do fill the bowl with lots of noodles and beef. (I noticed other dishes were also quite large including the bun and their stir fried noodles.) The pho broth is tasty and does have a distinct cinnamon flavour to it. The meat was tender. Only downside is that they charge you for tea and it's the plain jasmine green tea you can get anywhere. The service was fast and servers were pleasant and attentive. read more

Went there on Saturday evening food was horrific!!!! In all the years of my eating Vietnamese food this was the worst ever!!! Way to spicy and the meat was like rubber. First time at Saigon Rex today and so glad I made the drive across the city from Fishcreek Park (SW) area to The Hamptons NW for lunch. Best Vietnamese Food in the city. The Owners are the previous Owners of Saigon Maxim, our second favourite Vietnamese Rstaurant in the city. My Husband loves to have the beef stew in the Winter, and all though I typically always have the dry-noodle soup, today I had the seafood with vegetables. Food is fresh, has excellent flavour and the service is impeccable. Love this restaurant's decor too. Will make the trip here at least once a month for the delicious food! read more
