Pretty good pho located in Chinatown! Looking for a steaming bowl of pho, check out Pho Hoai. It is a small shop locating within a service center. Service and ambiance are okay, but the food is good! I would say the meat ratio is a pretty good ratio and it didn't feel like they were skimping on it. When I went it, it wasn't too busy so I think if you're looking for something to eat in Chinatown and don't want to wait, this is a great option!

Inside a shopping plaza you find this popular pho restaurant in Calgary. Great service, friendly staff. The bun bo hue is good. Authentic Vietnamese food.

How is mine $3 more just coz I wanted rare beef with tendons?
    Maggie Y.

I asked for large rare beef with tendon as there were ones with rare beef, well done brisket and tendon! I just only wanted rare beef and tendons, but the server doesn't seem to understand. Upon paying I learned I was charged $3 extra for tendons when all the other ones were $14.99! I never asked for EXTRA. I wanted rare beef with tendons, not the rest of the other stuff like tripe, or brisket! Their broth is cloudy and oily on the top! $21 including taxes and tip for a large bowl of oily cloudy pho is def not worth it. This will be the last time I come back here anymore!

Getting your pho fix in downtown Calgary? This seems like the place to go. Came by on a weekday lunch and it was fully seated. The restaurant is located in a fairly sketchy plaza in Chinatown which just makes it a little bit more authentic lol. I was visiting from Toronto and this meant my standards of what I would expect for a pho spot. The restaurant staff are a little bit rude but that's just normal course of business for a place like this lol. The pho and soup were on point.

Good Pho at this location for reasonable price. Shared a large bowl which is more than enough for two. Got some shrimp wraps as well. Service was fine. Only negative was one of kitchen staff had a hacking cough.

Really solid place for pho! The broth was really solid and the meat was good. They will serve you complimentary tea too which was nice.

You have to walk into a shopping center to get here which was a bit strange during dinner time since everything else is closed. I went on a rainy cold winter day and not a ton of people there so we got seated right away. Service is fast, food came out fast, and you go up to the counter to pay. Very authentic place. Vietnamese aren't know for their amazing service but the food is good! You can see partially into the kitchen and see all the ladies soaking the noodles and getting the pho ready. They start you off with a pot of jasmine tea. I helped my friend navigate the menu which is nice to be able to order by number if you don't speak/read Vietnamese. I brought my friend for her first experience with pho! They give you the usual fixings on the side (bean sprouts and mint). You have Siracha and hoisin sauce on the table. They also have other spices and soy sauce so plenty of options. She loved it and ate the whole bowl. And she's a picky eater so I'm glad she liked the pho! I also started with the fresh salad rolls (goi cuon) which rice noodles, lettuce, and shrimp wrapped in rice paper. You use peanut sauce or they had a sauce put together to dip. Very good and fresh. I'm glad we stumbled upon this on a cold day and it was a good place for my pho virgin friend to try it for the first time!

Decent Vietnamese restaurant inside a small Asian mall / complex in Calgary's Chinatown. Decor is minimalistic and simple. The owner is great and very accommodating of requests of customizations to the dishes (to be made non-spicy, substitutions, more veggies, etc.).

I highly recommend this pho place if you're looking for something spicy, with incredible flavours! Check out item 15 - Pho Sa-Te. The satay broth is packed with flavour. I'd say, the spice is more medium if you like spice. Otherwise, it would be more on the spicy side. It comes with "rare beef". I'm not big on uncooked meat, so I opted to get sliced beef fully cooked. The broth has chilli flakes, and also small chunks of peanuts (incase you're allergic). I'm actually really picky with my meat, and don't like too much fat on it. The cooked beef slices I had with this were pretty great. The dish comes with a side of bean sprouts, mint leaves and extra peppers. The service is soooo fast! Came in with 3 people, and we also ordered the deep fried spring rolls (which was also super good and extra crispy!). It was lunch during the week, and we may have waited 10 mins? I normally love ramen and hot pot, but this is definitely one of my new fave pho!

Friend recommended me to come here for lunch. She said its the best Pho Noodle in Calgary Downtown. So I have to try and see if she is right about it. I have to say the pho base is very clear and tasty. Tasty as in I can't taste any MSG and or maybe there are none (not a pro to know). But afterward I am not thirsty. I got number 3 which is rare beef with beef flank pho. They are very generous in the meat. That is a plus. The place is super busy especially at 11:30. Everyone is trying to beat the rush and they all fail. That is when the rush starts. OK, I came at noon and was able to get a seat but still have to wait for someone to clean the table. When we sat down the spoon was dirty and so I sent that back. Also the glass of water had lipstick mark left by left customer and yes I sent that back too. Food wise its good. Its located in the Far East Mall. Inside near the back of the mall. They are so busy that they even took part of the outside of the restaurant. Yes they have tables and chairs out there too. WOW. that is how busy they are. I mean with that many people, it must be good. I highly recommend coming here.

    Pho Sate

Tucked away in the Far East Shopping Center, you'll find Pho Hoai. I opted for the beef sate which came with a substantial amount of noodles, topped with thinly sliced rare beef, onions in a spicy broth that carried a hint of curry. For $10, you get an authentic Vietnamese pho which I think can be hard to come by in downtown Calgary these days.

Hidden gem for pho addicts who are traveling to Calgary. Loved the foods and staff who welcomed us with hot tea right away.

Traditional Lan Zhou Hand Pulled Noodle since 1915. Place your order via kiosk. Easy to navigate. The female employee helped us answer questions. Coincidentally, our order number was 888. I selected Hand Pulled Noodle in Beef Soup with flat and wide noodles. Female employee asked me if I would like chili oil on the side. Hard to resist. I'm happy I accepted the offer because the chili oil tasted very fresh and added some spice and depth to the soup. Absolutely comforting and satisfying with and without chili oil. Same employee was very kind, thoughtful and forward thinking to ask if I would like the Deep Fried Steamed Bun with condensed milk now or toward the end of my meal. I responded, "At the end of my meal, please." Pillowy soft on inside, heat hot in its entirety, with slight crunch on outside. Dessert complemented condensed milk. Highly recommend. Free parking. Worth visiting and returning.

It was a pleasant surprise to partake of Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles which were like silk! Tons of lamb choices. I'm always down for lamb and I was in my element. My lamb noodle dish had those "curtain noodles" with tons of vegetables and highly seasoned lamb - cumin and chili - 100% Northern Chinese. So delicious. Spouse had a lovely braised beef soup with thin noodles, scented with five-spice My only minor criticism is that my lamb noodles were a tad oily. Portions are large, prices are what they are these days. Highly recommend!

The restaurant was pretty spacious and not very busy on a Saturday late afternoon. The place however was a little warm inside, maybe the AC wasn't working as they had some fans on. We ordered the vermicelli dish and pad Thai as the staff told us it was their most popular dish. The pad Thai was indeed one of our favorite. It had a unique smoky flavor to it. We also ordered the pho and eggplant dish. The pho had a surprisingly rich flavor. I would definitely recommend the pho.
