A hidden gem in the neighborhood! It's a tiny little store, so you may have a hard time looking for it (there's also a lot of construction work being down right now). Make sure to look for the green sign! I didn't have much expectations when I bought the sandwiches, but the owners are really sweet and nice! Pros they also speak Vietnamese (if you're somewhat fumbling with your French, they're super patient.) This is a complete mom and pop kind of shop, and let me tell you the owners are generous with their portions! We got the regular sized banh mi and it was HUGE, like if you take the ones in CA and doubled them. The baguette was delicious! They also have a mega (I believe) size listed, if our regular sized was already huge I wonder how big the mega would be. Coming from someone that's vietnamese and lives in an area that's densely populated w/ viet ppl and oversaturated with banh mi shops...this place REALLY hit the spot. We stopped by here to do a grab and go of some banh mi for our plane ride back to the states. I got their dac biet which came with several diff types of meat, I was super satisfied. The baguette was very fresh and baked well. This was probably one of (if not) the best banh mi's I've ever had! Really can't go wrong when you're in the heart of a city that has great baguette and pate! I came to Saigon Sandwich on Clotilde's recommendation (on Chocolate & Zucchini). I LOVE banh mi, so I was thrilled when I realized that I could get some in Paris! The idea of banh mi on a real baguette thrilled my senses and I couldn't wait. Since my class was supposed to meet in Belleville today, it was a marvelous coincidence that I remembered to come to Saigon Sandwich. There aren't a lot of options; I only saw two, the Maison (3€) and the Spécial (2.5€) (though Clotilde says there are three). For a meal in Paris, this is totally a steal. I couldn't believe that I was actually spending less than 3€ for my food. (I got the spécial because I like my classic banh mi). I must say that I'm a bit confused by Clotilde's description because I didn't taste any meatballs or cheese in mine, but it was good nonetheless. Perhaps she meant the "shu mai" that were oddly in the banh mi, which were ... well, the lumps of meat that are normally in shu mai. For the food, I would say 3 stars; it's not the banh mi that I'm used to, and I think the quality of the meat is lower. It's different in its taste and texture (less complex), and it's not toasted. However, the bread IS a nice baguette, so that definitely helps. And it gets 4 stars because it's really cheap for Paris. :) I also got a young coconut drink (1€) because I felt like I could splurge. Perfect place to pick up banh mi in Paris. Baguette was perfection, lots of meat (ordered the grilled chicken), cheap, good portion. It's a small quick take away spot, so no real kitchen with a stove, from the looks of it. I'm a stickler on quality, so when I saw that the meats were precooked, and upon order, it was nuked in the microwave, I was a bit eeked out. But it's a quick takeaway spot...no biggee, and what do you expect... You get what you pay for....and it was delicious so really no complaints, just a heads up. If you're anything like me, when it comes to eating, things are always time sensitive. I gotta eat a sandwich when it's hot and freshly made or ice cream right after it's been scooped. Given this information that you probably didn't need to know about me, imagine my dismay when my husband told me we'd have to take our Saigon banh mi sandwiches through a 30 minute ride to the Lourve and no, we couldn't eat on the tube because we're not animals... Fast forward thirty minutes later at the Lourve. We get to eat our delicious Vietnamese sandwiches on delicious baguette outside the Lourve while spectators look on with jealousy. Saigon Sandwich is Vietnamese owned and has a few friendly women putting together these wonderful sandwiches. We ordered two number 2's after they pretty much told us that's their best sandwich as it has the most meat. It was the combo with the pork sausage, pig ear sausage, shredded pork, mayo and all typical banh mi accoutrements - carrots, peppers, cucumber and cilantro. We thoroughly enjoyed it but were missing the plentiful meat we get back in the states. However, the bread definitely made up for the lack of meat. Crunchy, chewy and didn't get stuck up on the roof of my mouth- win! For 6 euros paired with delicious free tea, I say yes! read more

Tasty and inexpensive! It was a short walk from my hostel to the guys and they were kind enough to help me order, as I was a clueless tourist who just landed. Nice little hole in the wall with a consistently good sandwich. I've had the Special and the Chicken Lemongrass and both are quite good. The chicken was very very well done. For the cheap price (2.5-3), variety of options (including a Vegetarian one), and quality, I would certainly recommend. However, if you're looking for the best Banh Mi in Paris, I'd still say that it's at Khai Tri by Tolbiac. read more

I went to paris for spring break and took the trek to get here. Holy crap get the chicken, extra spicy if you can take it and indulge. Even though the bread wasn't toasted it was perfect. They don't jam it with a lot of stuff but what it's got is just heavenly. Perfectly seasoned chicken and it just hit the spot. I would move to paris for this place.
