Paid parking is available just outside the building. Public bathrooms are down the street near a coffee shop. They had two boats in the harbor, we were on the smaller one: Redhead. The interior has about 12 booths that fit four people each with a wrap-around deck on the outside. The boat was nice and comfortable with table service. They have coffee and hot chocolate, and food including a blueberry buckle. We saw one Gray Whale, one pod of Orcas with a young one, and one pair of Orcas. We also saw Harbor Porpoise, Harbor Seal, Sea Otter, Bald Eagles, and lots of birds. It felt like most of the time we were driving really fast to get to the whales and then to Friday Harbor, then back. Most of the time is just moving quickly on the water. Though the experience was great, I probably wouldn't go on this trip again. We didn't see many whales. It was a very long day of just going quickly through the area. If I went again it would be at a different time of year and only for the half-day tour.

Took the 1 hour, 5pm sail and it was a magical experience. This August 2025 the weather was calm but had enough of a breeze to get us going. We sailed out of the harbor left and then sailed past the town. Fun! Meet at the edge/corner of the marina and there is a small placard and Captain Erik will probably be there waiting for you. He explains procedures, safety issues and points of interest in a clear and relaxing manner. Skinny, life jackets are provided. You can manually pull the orange tab to inflate or it will self inflate when submerged in water. Make reservations in advance.

Khu Larb Thai Restaurant is very good. The oysters on the half shell at Salty Girl's are fresh and great. The nearest grocery is uptown which is about 4 stories up some stairs and an additional few blocks. The uptown area is nice as there are victorian homes with lots of colors, etc. that look very nice. There is a farmer's market on Saturdays. The bathrooms and showers are clean. They charge a quarter for 1.5 minutes so load up 3 or 4 at the start. Make sure you have the 4 digit bathroom code before you walk up.

I suspect that is so they could screen quality of the rigs or social status? Keep the riff raff I will search for answers and post any I can find. Thanks! I did use their bath room it was an emergency and a friendly person gave me the code. Looks like they had an area for nicer rigs and ghetto area for the less fortunate. I will look into this further and see if I can find answer to my suspicions . The sites appeared to be over used and too close together and lots of trash on the beach which we spent a few minutes picking up. Looks like we will stick to Fort Warden in the future it is nearby and has a lot more amenities there is also the fair grounds which are cheap to stay at. The only reason they survive here is its proximity walking to port townsend nothing else about this place is worthwhile.

I believe there was street parking farther away, but we didn't look. TJ and Sophia were great hosts to us. Sophia was very knowledgeable and so willing to answer any questions we had. On the tour, we saw a grey whale from a ways a way. Orcas were being scarce today but we traveled near Seattle and pungent sound. They really went the extra mile to make sure we were able to see orcas as this was not close by. The pod had a NEW BABY! Such an exciting experience. Not only that, they were also having fun socializing and slapping their tails. Then we saw some glorious breaching. It was honestly such a great experience. We were in awe!

We unfortunately saw no whales during our first outing (so many cute seals and eagles though!), but they were able to squeeze us in the next day for another chance at no additional cost. We just did one upgrade to get window seats in the economy area, which was totally worth it. The boat was less than half full - if it had been fuller I would have gone for more of an upgrade as the seating in economy is a bit narrow if someone is near you. Staff were friendly and on and off boarding was easy. Food looked edible and it was nice to have servers come through the cabin - they also passed out motion sickness pills - although our ride was smooth. Nice views of the water and mountains all the way there and back. I wouldn't recommend parking in the Bell Street Garage. Although it was ten bucks a day we ended up locked in the garage upon return for more than an hour due to a broken machine and limited staffing. Clipper was not responsive or helpful when we offered feedback on this partnership, which makes me dock a star.
