Over the years, I have traveled with high school students on multiple tours to Austria (five times), Italy (five times), and New York City (twice). Most recently, MCI organized an Ireland tour for the adult community chorus I currently direct, and once again, they exceeded all expectations. It was a lovely mix of music with concerts in Killarney (St. Mary's Church of Ireland), Galway (St. Nicholas Collegiate Church), and Dublin (St. Patrick's Cathedral), sightseeing (organized tours and free time for individual exploration), meals (all delicious!), and unique activities (Jaunting cars, sheepdog demonstration, and so many more!) MCI's attention to detail is unparalleled. They meticulously plan every aspect of the trip, ensuring a seamless experience. However, as with any travel, unexpected situations can arise. The mark of a truly exceptional company is how they handle those challenges--and MCI does so with professionalism and efficiency. For instance, during our Ireland tour, our scheduled boat trip at the Cliffs of Moher was canceled due to bad weather (winds were high and waves were crashing!). Rather than leaving us disappointed, our tour manager, Adam, swiftly arranged an alternative experience--the Cliffs of Moher Experience--while also adding a Galway Boat Tour at no extra cost. What could have been an unfortunate turn of events became one of the highlights of the trip! This level of care and dedication is not the exception with MCI; it is the standard. One of the greatest advantages of traveling with MCI is the peace of mind they provide. I can focus entirely on the music-making and tour participants while leaving all logistical concerns in the capable, expert hands of the MCI staff. From pre-tour planning to on-the-ground coordination, they are knowledgeable, accommodating, and always a pleasure to work with. Their website resources are extremely helpful for both information and payment collection. After so many years of working with MCI, I have deep admiration and appreciation for their exceptional service. Our chorus is already looking forward to another tour, and without hesitation, we will turn to MCI to make it another extraordinary experience.

The rooms (and bathrooms) are large and sparkling clean and there's amazing hot water! My husband and I were in the Birch Sunset room and the view over the brook with the sunset is stunning. Mike is accommodating and friendly and made us feel really welcome. This will be our go-to when we visit Vermont!

Kel is probably one of the only people in the world to hold both IFMGA certification and a PhD. Kel was highly competent, experienced, and knowledgeable about the discipline of ice climbing as well as the local area. He tailored the experience to meet my educational goals in addition to putting together a great day of ice climbing. We did 8-10 pitches with plenty of time for instruction, lunch, and debriefing, even on a short winter day. In the past I was hesitant to hire guides, but I've found working with them to be highly valuable and a great way to find/fix areas where I have conscious and unconscious incompetence. Kel offers a great service for clients who have existing experience in their discipline (rock/ice/alpine/etc) and want to dive deeper or go bigger.

Anyway, my friend initially tried to plan a guided trip up mount Washington and got quoted from a couple guide services. One was way out of our budget and the other never got back to us so she kept looking and found Adventure Spirit. They were super prompt friendly and helpful and answered any questions we had. We did two days with Josh and Cory and didn't really know what the first day entailed but that was because they tailored it to what we wanted to accomplish. The whole experience was very custom which I loved and they provided us with rental gear for the weekend. You could tell that they were focused on us enjoying our trip but their main priority was safety which in my opinion is the best thing you can look for in a guide service. They even took spontaneous pictures of us without us asking and emailed them to us which was so nice and unexpected. Josh and Cory did their best to keep the 7 members of our group together but eventually we split into two groups which was much better in my eyes because of varying ability level and speed. I felt like we were much more prepared than other guided groups we saw on the mountain likely due to the first day learning about the gear. I would have loved the trip either way but having awesome guides was the icing on the cake to an amazing experience. You could tell they both loved their jobs and worked very well with the owner Kel. I'm totally hooked and can't wait to book more trips with Adventure Spirit.
