I live in Tavernier and have been…read morebringing my mini poodle here for about 3 years. she never actually does what I ask regarding his haircuts to begin with. But aside from that, she is extremely unprofessional. i have a 1-year old son and am sometimes alone with him as my husband gets his work schedules a little late and I don't know until a couple days before if I will be alone with the baby or not. It's been difficult for me to drive alone with him as of recently. That being said, I cancelled his past appointment an hour and a half prior because i decided I wouldn't be able to bring the dog and the baby alone all the way to islamorada as it would be too troublesome. He gets extremely cranky in the car seat and I have to practically fight him in order to get him in it. I explained to her my situation, apologized and rescheduled (she never once mentioned a cancellation fee). Upon, his next appt, my husband took him and was about 9 minutes late. The appt was at 1 and we didn't get a phone call or the dog back until 5:30pm. We called twice in between 1 and 5:30 and she didnt tell us that we had to pay her an extra FIFTY dollars for canceling his last appt. I have never seen any cancellation policy written anywhere but it was extremely unprofessional for her to wait to tell us we had to pay for the cancellation upon arriving to pick him. she has always been so kind and I have brought him here for so long. It's extremely unfortunate. I understand cancellation policies but I don't appreciate unprofessional approaches to situations nor do I appreciate the lack understanding or compassion regarding my situation with my toddler. Just lost a long time customer. Not to mention, almost every one of his nails was bleeding when we got him as if she took her frustration out on him.
