Zero clue how this place has such good reviews. Yesterday 4/22 we had a new patient appointment for our French bulldog. We came prepared - but your staff did not. Even though you had our extensive previous vet records - zero attention was paid to them. As such, your staff was un-prepared and un-aware he previously had a severe allergic reaction to the DAP+Lyme+Lepto vaccine and had to be rushed back to the vet within an hour. You were also unaware that for all our appointments after, our original vet insisted he be pre-treated for all vaccines to be on the safer side. I repeatedly asked the vet tech about this and she repeatedly brushed aside my concern. She kept insisting on a laundry list of vaccines. OK - we'll he'll be fine with rabies and this instead. Are you sure? What does it say in his records? Did you review them prior to our arrival? No - she did not. How it's not a requirement the provided health records were not reviewed prior to arrival - is beyond my comprehension. When I asked her about my Frenchie's previous records - she had no idea. I watched as she scrolled, and scrolled and then scrolled more through his records. At that point all trust was immediately gone. It was bad enough the facility can only be described as grungy. Nothing about this place looked sanitary. It was outfitted in what appeared to be mis-matched left over dorm room furniture from the 80s. Upon entering a room - you're confronted with an actual shower curtain (?!?) covering some unknown room or closet instead of an actual door. We're accustomed to a more professional and buttoned up environment that invoked trust and knowledge. This combined with zero attention to detail to my pup's previous records and allergic reaction was enough. I attempted to quietly leave merely saying "Not a good fit" when I was glared at on leaving. This situation was made worse when I was then chased outside by an alleged "manager". Following someone to their car is alarming. It's confrontational. It's beyond unprofessional. It's creepy. It only made a bad situation worse because zero apology was offered. Instead the "manager" justified bad behavior when she wasn't in the room with us nor had the time to review with the tech what actually transpired. My credit card was charged $35 on April 17 as a deposit for a visit - that never transpired because your staff failed us and lost our trust. I emailed April 22 to get a refund. No one called, no one replied to an email - - instead we got a passive aggressive email with the $35 receipt from April 17. This place is beyond unprofessional. read more

My dog became very sick from ingesting too much salt water. They worked me in to a busy schedule. We're very thorough. Checked all her blood work, vitals, etc. Gave her fluids and nutrients through injections in her skin and various meds right on spot. Found them to be incredibly professional, and very kind. The service was more than reasonable. I know back home. I would've paid double. Cannot recommend them enough for their patients and kindness to my sick dog. Who is now much better thanks to them. This vet's office graciously worked our dog in for an emergency visit and she was seen by the doctor within an hour of my phone call. Very thorough and knowledgeable and took care to comfort our dog. I have recommended this practice several times to others since and I have heard good things since. This practice is on my speed dial since we visit the Keys quite often. read more

I cannot say enough about this vet office. From the doctors, to the vet techs, to the office staff, they personify caring and empathy. My dog, Finnegan, is a rescue and, although we don't know the details, she was severely traumatized when we got her in July 2020. She made no sound and wouldn't eat or drink and shook her head constantly.. We took her immediately to the vet and she was seen by Dr. Humphries. The poor dog had a yeast infection in both ears, she was dehydrated, was lethargic and her anal glands were clogged. Dr Humphries gave her full checkup and a complete lab workup. In 3 days she was a totally different dog. I am so thankful we took her right away. Highly recommend. read more

My 14 year old Jack Russell, Beatrice, was in respiratory distress, breathing at 120 breaths per minute. We brought her here because we live on Geiger Key. It was one hour before they were closing, and they wouldn't see her and told us to drive 3 1/2 hours to Miami. They claim that they provide Emergency Services. Heartless "vet". Several months ago two of our cats, including Martha, were dehydrated and we hurried them to the Clinic after hours. The care was excellent and we decided to use them as our Vet in the future. Today we brought our three cats for nail cutting. Two of the three were successfully trimmed. But with Martha, the third, the techs were unable to trim as she resisted their attempts. We have had Martha since she was a kitten and throughout her 8 years, never were techs unable to trim her nails. I inquired if the techs had leather gloves to restrain an unwilling animal. They told me they only have towels. So, my suggestion is to purchase leather gloves for tech use in similar future situations. read more

I had a wonderful experience here with my cat Winston! I booked a last minute appointment because I recently moved to the area and my cat kept peeing everywhere around the house. I couldn't figure out if that was from stress or from a UTI. I made an appointment and the providers checked him out, gave me a good explanation on the situation, and discharged Winston with a clear plan. The provider was very friendly and honest. I absolutely hate it when providers are pushy because it gives me the impression that they are trying to milk my money. Fortunately, the veterinarian here was nothing like that and only suggested things that made logical sense. The cost of the visit is quite average. read more

So thankful to have found Dr. Humphries and the team at Keys Animal Care Center! We were visiting Key West for a family vacation the week of Christmas when our senior dog was clearly in pain and discomfort. The issue started on Sunday night and when I called the Vet on Monday morning they were able to squeeze us in for an emergency appointment. They took great care of Benji and were so kind and caring which I really appreciated being we were so far away from home and our normal vet. In no time they had tests run and treated him for severe constipation (probably caused by our travel days). We were sent home with some meds and by that afternoon he was feeling better and back to his normal self by the following day. If we lived there, they would be our vet. They are so nice and I jus can't say thank you enough for getting our guy feeling better! read more

This week I had a terrible incident w/ my 4-month old kitten. She ingested some yarn and was very sick: vomiting, lethargic, would not eat or drink. I called her regular vet and they did not have room for us. I also found out that my favorite nurse, Jennifer, had moved to the Keys Animal Care Center so we called them and were able to get in ASAP. Jennifer was there waiting for us. Today, my kitten had surgery to remove the yarn from her intestines. I have been a nervous wreck, but I am so very grateful to Dr. Humphries, Jennifer and the entire staff at this clinic. They are taking very good care of my baby and they have been wonderful to us. read more
