With two children enrolled, we've experienced every early childhood level (infant, toddler, and primary) and have consistently had positive experiences. The teachers are exceptional - they truly know each child, honoring their strengths and learning styles while fostering respect and independence in the Montessori tradition. They also partner closely with parents to create a strong, supportive environment. When our son was showing signs of a possible stutter, we worked collaboratively with his teacher and administration to have him evaluated. As his parents, we were ultimately empowered to make the final decision that we thought was best for him. MANH invests heavily in resources and specialists, such as speech therapists, for the children at all age levels. Montessori curriculum is also just incredible overall. Children in Primary (3-6) are learning foundational math, geography, and life skills through joyful, play-based exploration. At age four, our son can name all the continents and can explain early math concepts, as can many of his classmates. There is also an emphasis on social development, helping children grow as caring, respectful members of a community. As a small school, the administration is deeply involved in the daily experience of students and families. Like many educational institutions, there are areas of opportunity such as tuition cost, effective communication, and change management. That said, we've consistently seen the administration lead with genuine care, always keeping the children's best interest at the center of decisions. Whenever our family has raised concerns, they've been met with openness, respect, and thoughtful consideration. While not every outcome aligns with our preferences, we've always felt welcomed to share feedback and be part of a collaborative, respectful dialogue. MANH is a school where children are truly seen, supported, and encouraged. Over three years, we've watched ours grow in confidence, curiosity, and compassion. It's clear how much she loves and cares for the children, and the consistency she brings has meant so much to us over the years. Our school administrator, Ms. Dharti, is equally wonderful. She is highly involved, frequently present in the classrooms, and goes above and beyond to ensure that both teachers and students have everything they need to thrive. Every teacher we have had has been incredible with our boys! What stands out most is the nurturing, supportive environment combined with a strong commitment to Montessori principles. The gap was significant enough that holding him back a grade was discussed, which was both surprising and troubling given the time he spent at this school. In addition, I found that concerns raised about academics and behavior were not, in my experience, consistently documented or escalated. Communication from administration often lacked clarity and follow-through, and important issues did not appear to be handled with the level of transparency I would expect. Overall, the administration appeared more focused on enrollment and tuition considerations than on addressing academic progress or child well-being concerns raised in good faith. These issues became particularly clear in a shared-custody context, where neutrality and balanced communication are essential--but they raise broader questions for any family. Prospective parents should ask specifically how concerns are recorded, how behaviors are reported, and how the school ensures accountability when issues are raised.

We've sent all three of our kids to Busy Bees and couldn't be happier with that decision. The Montessori instruction fosters independence and confidence in kids. People are constantly amazed at the things my kids can do -- like putting on their coats, feeding themselves, their ability to focus on tasks, etc. -- at a young age. We currently work with Elda and Gisel in the Eggs classroom, and these two teachers and their aides could not be more devoted to the children they work with. They clearly love each child, and know them very, very well. I also appreciate Busy Bees' willingness to communicate and partner with parents. As much as Busy Bees has been instructive for my kids, I've also learned a lot from the Montessori method they employ and the caring, fantastic staff they hire. Luckily we did get a chance for someone to show us around. During the tour the only thing that I disliked was the amount of clutter in the cooking area and the bathrooms. The open space in the center was nice and the kids were really friendly. Service wise I think this site could do better accommodating family's with Teachers who only need some months of the year. This place would would rather lock you in for a full year. If you are in the Arlington Heights area and only need a few months out of the year don't waste your time here; your better of not wasting time and looking elsewhere. I will add that they are also terrible about getting back to you.

I really wanted a great doula for a complicated pregnancy. But Robin slept through my son's birth,…read moreeven after I told her at 5 pm I was checking into the hospital the week of my due date. When I talked to Robin, she said she was at an event and didn't have a car with her so she couldn't leave to come to the hospital at that time, because she was dependant on someone else for a ride. She assured me she would come and said she'd never slept through a birth. She also told me most mothers labor for 12+ hours and not to worry since I wasn't dilated at all. I was given Cervidil. In the middle of the night my son's heart rate started dropping. Cervidil was removed, my son's heart rate stabilized and I was given two options: Do a more controlled C-section or try to labor longer and then likely have an emergency C-section. I tried to get ahold of Robin. She slept through the text and phone call. So I opted to do a more controlled C-section which took a while since I couldn't have an epidural and it took more than 30 minutes for the spinal to take. Robin never showed up to the hospital and it took weeks, months, to get a partial refund. I never got a full refund. She also didn't call a back-up doula. She made a really frustrating situation -- of sleeping through my son's birth -- even worse by having to spent weeks of back and forth emails (and my son was a NICU baby) trying to get some of my money back. More troubling she also sent an NDA to me -- which I didn't sign -- to try and make sure this wasn't disclosed. Accidents happen but the follow-up was more problematic. Yes, her father died in the weeks after my son's birth and that is awful, but sending an NDA to try and cover-up the situation of sleeping through a birth was really awful and weeks of emails to get a partial refund difficult as I was recovering from a difficult pregnancy and delivery was troublesome. This happened in the summer of 2017. It's taken me a long time to process everything. I'm sure most births aren't like this, but other expectant moms need to be aware. I would hate for anyone else to go through something like this.
