Received an email from Luis Moore, their Customer Service Manager, about a missing package request I put in. After several days, he sent an email stating the "investigation" was resolved and asking me to fill out a customer satisfaction survey. However, the package had still not been delivered, and had not even been located, and I wasn't even offered a refund for postal fees - much lees the package's contents. When I attempted to contact Mr. Moore (several times) by phone, during business hours, the post office's main phone line would ring off the hook - I guess no one could be bothered to answer the phone. read more

I had to select a local branch to give this review. First USPS ignored my online address change, so they left a green slip in my mailbox days later stating my box was vacant, so I filled it out as it instructed, they NEVER picked it up, so I had to change my address for the THIRD time on the phone. They told me to go pick up my mail but they had already returned all of it, so I had a great time reordering my drivers license and voting registration at the DMV thanks to them. Then they deliver a package in a parcel box, and the key they gave me to open it doesn't work, so now I can't get my package for another 2 days since it's a holiday weekend... The level of complete and total incompetence of the local USPS services are staggering, I'd have more trust in a carrier pigeon service at this point. read more

The wait can be long, especially if the parking lot is full (which it often is) so make sure you come prepared with everything ready to go! The lines are long because of unprepared customers. I've been dealing with a woman Tammy from the Saint Augustine post office she is very rude. she was following up with me in regards to a complaint that I made about one of her carriers. She called me early in the morning and was yelling at me like I was a child and talking over me and telling me I don't know what I'm talking about.,Don't be accusing unless you know for a fact.( Well, I do know for a fact because everything that gets sent to my daughter goes missing gift cards and birthday card envelopes don't even make it to the house. I have to mail everything priority and signature now. ) Does not know how to speak to customers and butt dialed me and was cursing me out and was unaware that I was even listening to the conversation during this conversation, I heard her call me a dumb effing bitch that's from New York. Having issues signing up for "Informed Delivery" at my new home. Called the post office's 800# which has an hour plus wait. Information on USPS website states I must do an "in-person identification verification" available ONLY at limited post offices. There are none near me, the closest being St Augustine, over an hour away! Called the King St 904# and "Tony" was very helpful, confirming that they have the necessary equipment but also educating me about the online application process and the mandatory paperwork that MUST be printed and brought in! VERY helpful and knowledgeable. read more

Was the worst time renewing my passport. I have nevervbeen treated so DIMISSED in my life. The clerk treated me like I was stupid, was dismissive,, and was very far from helpful. I did not know what to do, but he would not answer any questions, and acted like I was bothering him, or not worth his time. So if you need to renew you passport, don't do it here. read more

I'm with the person who posted feedback prior to me. I've never had a problem there, parking has always been easy and staff answers any and all questions I may have. They don't have the greatest personalities but I don't think any one of them is there for a 'best personality " contest. Yes, they are human just like you and me; they actually have nada days. Many are just short of retirement, want to service the patron, do what's required of them and it's a lot. If it helps any you can have your mail picked up from your home. Great post office located downtown in Saint Augustine. There is always plenty of parking in their lot while you run in to take care of all your postal needs. The postmasters that work the counter are always friendly and helpful. There are post office boxes at this location to rent. You can also buy everything you might need for mailing packages. Prices are on well displayed boards above the counter. You can also buy an assortment of greeting cards here. They are on display right where the line cues so it's fun to read a few while you wait your turn to be served. The best feature is the drive by mailing. If you have you letter ready to mail you don't even have to get out of you car. Simply drive up to the mailbox which is located in the parking lot and mail your letter while sitting in the comfort of your car. No parking required. Excellent location. read more

As an update to my last post on USPS. After submitting a review here and on LinkedIn regarding my situation with damaged goods and submitting even MORE information to hopefully get some results, low and behold, a check arrived for me yesterday. For the full insurance amount. I am happy to see that USPS listens to reason. I don't know if the coincidence is that I posted my complaint on social media OR that they finally acquiesced after 3 appeals. I am grateful and the timing was perfect to receive a check before the holidays. Now can we do something about the delivery at our home? A three day package sent in late November arrived 3 weeks later. We have no consistent carrier (or they seem to be new on the route every month), we receive final notices when we haven't gotten first notices for packages and our mail is delivered to other addresses even when it's correctly addressed. Or we receive someone else's mail. Yikes. I know it's a hard job, but I also know that USPS can do better than that. read more

As I write this review the rating is an overall 2 and I really don't understand that. They are not a 5 by any means, which is why I am rating a 4...but still a 2 is harsh. Where are all the people out there that have had good experiences here? We recently moved here and had to have all our mail forwarded to the General Delivery address. From the start, calling from our last location, they have been very helpful. Upon our arrival in the area we went to the post office to pick up some boxes and I sort of felt like a celebrity...they were waiting on us. Of course, it was a fair amount of boxes (4 or 5 at the time). They were all very welcoming...not just with post office stuff, but with info about the area. Since that time we have returned when we had boxes come in and then return once a week to ensure there isn't anymore mail. All the ladies are very nice and helpful. Why the 4? I really like it when the post office people are friendly, have a conversation and treat you like you are human. I like getting to know them and I feel like they are getting to know me. However, there is a time for this and a time when this should be avoided...one of those times being when there is a long line. Nothing annoys people more than when you only have 2 cashiers and there are 16 people in line and they are taking their time with conversation...likewise the customer shouldn't hold them up. But reality is, they should say they can't talk at the moment...next time or something. That said, when there is a long line...why not call someone else up from the back to help out for a few minutes...or at least see if someone is just picking up? They aren't perfect I know...so that is why I rated them a 4. But it really is a nice bunch of ladies...never met any men that work there, but I am sure there are some. read more

Don't use the postage machines that print postage labels. They are dated and if you don't use them on the date, they are no good and you can't get a refund. Always buy regular stamps! read more

I have had 2 packages lost since June 5th, 2018. The first package was delivered to a different address not even in my area. This was verified by a supervisor through the USPS tracking with their gps tracking on the location where it was last scanned. I have still not received it as of today, July 16th, 2018. The second most recent has been this week. A package was supposed to be delivered on July 13th, 2018. UPS had transferred the package to USPS on July 10th, 2018 and was accepted by USPS on July 10th, 2018. It hasn't progressed since and is apparently lost at their facility at the King Street location. These are just 2 in the last 2 months. There have been numerous lost and delivered to wrong addresses. They don't take any responsibility when they verify it was delivered to a wrong address. They will only pay if the item(s) were insured, if they were not, you are out. I will follow up on the fate of the second package and like the first lost package, will take a lot of phone calls to get no satisfaction. read more

There are a few smaller post offices spread out throughout St. Augustine, most of which will mail packages for you, sell stamps, or offer up PO Boxes. This main office, located downtown, offers everything, including the awesomeness that is the Automated Postal Center. It's located right off King Street just before you hit Flagler College and the main area of downtown. There are tons of PO Boxes available for rent, and there is a pretty good size lobby. If you take a look around, you will see lots of priority mail and express mail boxes that you are free to take, so you can always grab what you need to take it home and box your belongings before you bring it in. They also sell shipping supplies in the main area if you're going to need something special. The outside lobby also hosts the Automated Postal Center, which is awesome. It's a machine that will dispense stamps, but also mail packages for you. Just place your package on the scale, follow the on screen instructions, and have your debit / credit card ready, and you can be in and out in just a few moments. Always works like a charm when there's a long line inside the main area. Personally, this is one of the better post offices I've ever been to. It's always clean, and I've never really seen a long line here, there always seems to be a number of employees available for help and keeping everyone moving quickly. They definitely have everything you're looking for, and they are very quick in shipping if you go priority or express mail. Only complaint I would have is that the parking lot isn't the biggest, and it's a real pain in the ass to get in and out of there via King Street, ESPECIALLY if you go during a busy time of day. I generally park across the street, it makes things easier. Overall, though, a great post office that will definitely serve you. read more

Had two packages shipped to the beach club. The one from ups got here on time despite no unit number. The second usps arrived three days late and required three phone calls to track down the package that was listed as wrong address. Still had to go to the office to pick it up.Seems the carrier could not do what ups did and that was to go in the office a few feet away and find out my unit number. I had to mail a gift to my boyfriend today so that it would get to him before his birthday (Tuesday). I was unsure of what box to use & there was extensive options and supplies to choose from. I finally picked out a medium flat rate box (hoping it would be the least expensive & fastest & it was the closest fit, although a little big, for my gift) & got in line. One of the ladies working there, Felicia, spotted me & without me having to ask, went out of her way to help me find a less expensive box that would fit my needs. She was very patient while I put some finishing touches on my gifts & helped me pack the box so that my gift wouldn't roll around & be damaged in-transit. She also assured me the package would arrive in Texas by Monday. Most times when I go to the post office, the workers are abrupt & have little to no compassion for people who are confused about what to do to get their belongings mailed. Felicia was wonderful & I'm very grateful to have encountered her in my visit today. This store is large & has anything you would need to package what you need to mail. The line moved very quickly & I was immensely pleased with the service. read more

I have an online business and have worked with about 25 post offices... this is the worst experience by far ... the worst parking, the traffic in and out of the main post office is usually a nightmare...forget it if you have to go on weekends.., if you have to pickup they send you across the street and there's very limited parking there also.... Just an overall miserable experience having this as my local post office. ... I moved from MA to St Augustine in December. .and went from the best to the worst post office I've ever experienced. . They have a Contract satellite site at the Shores which is a Godsend....once they close that , I will pay the extra for UPS and Fedex..AND make sure ALL my suppliers do NOT use USPS.... By far one of the worst post offices in the area. Let me break this down: The United States post-office completely lost my package! Time sensitive and wedding related. When I called the Jacksonville center, they told me they could NOT locate my package but assured me they would create a "case" so they could locate my package. The Jax center clearly told me they did not have the package (that's why they created a case to locate it). They were relatively helpful. Employee of St. Augustine post-office called me two days later and was rude to me right away. This employee, named David, told me that Jacksonville had it. When I told him that Jax told me the did NOT have it and that I was now hearing two different stories, he honestly told me that he "didn't know what to tell me". When I asked him to confirm that he has not/can not locate my package he said "well that's why I called you" in the most demeaning way. Instead of calling me to tell me he can't find my package and that he didn't know what else to tell me, he SHOULD have been polite and assured I would have his help. I tried asking him numerous times what was the best way to help locate my package. His responses were not helpful in any way! All he kept saying was "well we don't have it". He said the best thing he can do is have his supervisor email the Jacksonville sorting center. If he is supposed to be a case manager, you would think he can do a little better. I am at a loss of words for David; to put it in the nicest way possible: His customer service skills are subpar and he is ridiculously rude. This post office needs some serious updates and customer service lessons. read more

Arogant attitudes and inaccurate self help kiosk scale.....this is an example of why the post office is broke and needs to be privatized. Had a package my mom was expecting returned to my home requesting additional postage, .91 cents is what they wrote on it. Mind you, this was weighed on the scale at the post office lobby, I plugged all of the data in, didn't change anything. Went to the location and stood in a line 8 people deep. They have 4 or 5 positions that they can put people on but they never do. Today we were apparently lucky in that the we're 2 people working. After 2 people and with a line of still 8 people, 1 of the employees inexplicably place a closed sign on his spot and walked away. However, he continued chatting it up with the other employee. I asked if it was routine to close a window with a long line of people to which the lady employee states "we are entitled to bathroom breaks". I asked if bathroom breaks consisted of socializing with female employees and was promptly ignored. read more
