We've been here three times now. The first two visits were fantastic, which is why we came back. The cocktails are excellent, and the bartenders we had previously were friendly, attentive, and made the experience memorable. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was the complete opposite. We arrived right when they opened, sat at the bar, and ended up spending around $200. Once the bar got busy, it felt like we were completely forgotten. After finishing our drinks, we waited about 40 minutes trying to order another round. When we finally got the bartender's attention, instead of acknowledging the wait or apologizing, he simply told us he had "many drinks before us." We waited another 30 minutes before deciding to just ask for the check. There was no apology for the delay, no "thank you," and no goodbye after we'd spent a significant amount of money. He handed us the check and walked away as if he couldn't have cared less. It also seemed like he was the only person behind the bar who knew how to make the cocktails, which created a bottleneck all night. That's an operational issue, but unfortunately it was made much worse by the lack of customer service. We know this place is capable of providing a great experience because we've had it twice before. Park Slope is at a shortage of good cocktail lounges. I was looking forward to trying them. The decor and ambiance is nice. That's where the good ends. You're not greeted when you walk in. Just met with a blank stare, curt and suspicious "can I help you?" by bartender then a judgmental stare by server. We opted to sit inside. It was empty while outdoor area was full. Took a while to get menus then waited again and met with a dry "do you know what you want?" from server with his back turned to us. Drinks show up pretty fast but they're in tiny coupe glasses. Server spills a bit of my precious elixir while putting it down. Doesn't apologize. I order the same cocktail and varies very little from place to place. This time it tasted watered down and seemed to lack an ingredient or was maybe subbed with something else?Ordered burgers. Mine was gray and dry as a bone. Fries were hard end bits and cold. Server never comes back to check on us or refill water. You get better service at the dive bars on 5ave. read more

I do love a neighborhood bar. This place is really cute, nestled right up against the cars and brownstones on 12th St, almost like a well kept secret. We are outside as it wasn't too cold but the interior is lovely. Serves was all smiles and kind of smart-alecky which i appreciated. We started with the fried polenta which was nice if meager. We stopped in for drinks and tried both non-alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails, both were fantastic. Special shoutout to the NA decaf espresso martini -- it was so refreshing and really resembled the cocktail it was emulating. Dim lights, romantic vibes and cozy indoor seating. Great, cute, local neighborhood bar. We stopped in around 6 pm on a Friday evening and snagged a table outside with no issue. Extensive curated cocktail menu with fun seasonal drink options. I loved the Heiress and The Last Straw (both gin based, very tasty and fresh). My husband loved the The Fire Island. Drinks were $17 each, a little pricey but not out of the ordinary. We also ordered the shishito peppers which were good, but we didn't love the lemon sauce that came with them. Only knocking a star because service is verrrrrry slow. They seem to only have one person running drink orders and checking on tables. Seems like that's been an issue in the past. It wasn't egregious but definitely something of note. A spontaneous birthday party turned into a stellar night out at Saint Eve's Cocktail bar. We came here with a few friends on a Sunday evening and ended up having one of the best nights ever. Saint Eve's serves up craft, specialty cocktails with a delightful ambiance. Think dim (but not dingy) lighting and an abundance of drink toppers (the bar looks like an herbarium). We also got the arancini, which were really good. I thought it was a little overpriced for a small neighborhood spot, but then again, it's Park Slope. Everyone in the neighborhood seems to know about this place except Yelp. Well here I am to save the day. As I begin to wake up from the terrible terrible dream of pandemic life with children, I'm pleased to discover that my taste buds are still able to recognize flavors other than the stuff I've been eating all the past year (which albeit was very good, but very repetitive as I'm not that creative in the kitchen). We stumbled across Saint Eves on a random walk thru the hood and made a mental note to come back and find it another night, and tonight was that night. It was spot on. We had intended to only have a drink and then go elsewhere for dinner, but after we both went "god damned!!" after taking our first sips, we decided to just stay. Fantastic drinks (I couldn't seem to go wrong), great small plates, and lovely outdoor dining. The staff was awesome, and the service was at a good leisurely pace. I was a big fan of the bold Sesamum, with black sesame tequila, mezcal, scallion, lime, soy sauce, and chili pepper tincture. Not a drink for everyone, but I really enjoyed it. I also had some of the Nigella Lawson with rum, mezcal, strawberry, nigella seed, pineapple, and coconut milk. With some pina colada vibes, it was interesting, but perhaps a little too much pineapple. They have some food items, and the flatbreads looked great, but we only had drinks. Quantity: Surprised by the kick in both cocktails I tried. Value: $15 for Cocktails. Ambiance: Saint Eve's Cocktail is located in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn. Down a side street, the bar is situated in a nice residential area. They have a large outdoor structure with plenty of seating as well as a few uncovered tables. Inside is a dimly lit bar, with a lot of nice touches. The beautiful floor and walls, the antique fixtures, and the noteworthy art pieces. Crowd: Every table outside was filled and about half of the spots inside as well. Service: Needed additional help on a beautiful weekend evening. This is a definite skip. The menu made me think otherwise, but just skip it, especially on a weekend. Cocktails were $15 and tasted nice but had so much ice in them it was probably half a cocktail. Irritating. Food...$18 for An Impossible Burger. One lonely burger with a couple simple toppings on it. Nothing else. It came on a tiny plate, nothing even around it to make you think, hey maybe this will be worth the money. It was not worth the money. The $8 app of shishito peppers came out and the bowl was half filled. Service was not good. I'm speaking as someone with years of server experience and it put a bad taste in my mouth. We came ready to relax and got a little stressed instead. The waiter didn't do anything to make up for getting off on the wrong foot by forgetting he had sat us (which hey, it happens...though it's always annoying when you see them serving another table sat after you). But after having to run up to him to get his attention for water after 15 minutes, he asked if we were okay...which was a confusing question since we hadn't been greeted yet. I said we hadn't been served and then he said he was the only one working. No apology, no let me make sure you get some drinks, whatever. I have never been treated so rudely in my life! I was very excited to bring my family here. When I asked the bartender/ manger about getting a table, he looked at my daughter with a hateful eye and said we don't allow kids here. She's 9 and very well behaved. I was gob smacked that a restaurant in Park Slope would have such a hateful and discriminatory attitude towards children. I was looking forward to this place being a new local favorite. He Then continued to give us passive aggressiveness throughout the night. We overheard the waiter talk to the girls next to us telling them how much easier it would make his life if they didn't sit down on the stools before he wiped down the table. I get it, but watch the attitude. Icing on the cake is we heard the man next to us order some liqueur and the server goes "yeah so I literally have no idea what you're saying right now." I walked by here a few weeks ago and thought this place looked cozy and elegant. We stopped by tonight for drinks after dinner in the neighborhood. The outdoor area was great with heat lamps, plants, and ample seating. Service was wonderful; he was polite and kind, and checked on tables outside several times (but not intrusively) to make sure everyone had what they needed. So much potential, yet so much disappointment. I've come here three times now, and each time it gets worse. The service is horrible - they are consistently understaffed (never more than one bartender and a couple of servers even on a packed weekend night), which means you're constantly waiting: waiting to get seated, waiting to have someone take your order, waiting longer than any reasonable person would allow for your drinks. But what takes it from a two stars to a one star is that no on on the staff seems the slightest bit fazed by the grueling wait time that they're consistently placing on their customers. In fact, it becomes your job to flag someone down since they're not actively going around to tables, and when you ask about the status of your order they seem clueless as to why you would be asking. And what makes this all even more ridiculous is that while yes they are understaffed, no one seems to actually be doing anything - the servers are often just standing around the bar or giving a quick perusal of the tables but not actually visiting any of the tables to check on them, and every time I or my partner glance at the bartender, expecting to see them slammed with cocktail orders, they're just chatting with the patrons sitting at the bar. It's beyond ridiculous, especially considering the price they demand for their food and drinks, both in terms of your wallet and your time. We will never frequent this place again. read more
