On October 10, 2024 I walked into the emergency room at Saint Francis-hospital Bartlett Tn. I walked to the emergency entrance, admitting desk and spoke with a young woman who asked me why I was there. I informed the woman that I had a terrible rash on my eye and my forehead, and it was hurting. I explained to the young lady that I was from out of town and on vacation . She asked me if I had Insurance and I said yes, and I gave her my insurance card and my ID.. within minutes Especially the nurse asked me to step inside to get my vitals. She asked me what was going on, and I explain to her it was an irritation that had been bothering me for a few days and I feel that I need to see a doctor because it doesn't feel normal. The nurse said a doctor would be in to see me momentarily. Within five minutes. Doctor came and spoke with me. Very kindly the doctor asked me to explain to him what was going on as I pointed to my forehead. He immediately said I know your symptoms follow me. I walked to the other area with the doctor and he explained to me what my condition was. It wasn't long before the attending physician came and gave his synopsis. Very quickly and with care the two doctors explained to me what my condition was and how it worked and then explain that the medication I would receive would be for pain and infection. With all of that being said, the young doctors care and attitude and mindset was just so remarkably amazing. The staff the cleanliness I would give this hospital an A + immediately, and I would advise anyone that is visiting the Bartlett community in Memphis, Tennessee had an emergency or had to be hospitalized to visit this care center. Please be very cautious about bringing a loved one with cognitive impairment or complex medical needs to this hospital. My father fell at home, and EMS brought him to this emergency room. Tests were performed, and his wife was told that everything was fine. She was also instructed to stop one of his blood pressure medications, and he was discharged home. The ER staff had been told that he had been weak, had fallen previously, and that this time he was unable to pull himself up. Despite knowing this information, he was still discharged. After arriving home, my father fell again in the garage. EMS was called, and he was brought back to the same ER. This time, he was admitted. Unfortunately, our experience during the admission was extremely concerning. The nurse practitioner/hospitalist repeatedly reminded us that my father was "only admitted because he fell," which made our family feel unwelcome and as though our concerns were not being taken seriously. I also felt that we were treated as though we were ignorant when we tried to explain our concerns. We repeatedly expressed concerns that medication issues could be contributing to his weakness, increased confusion, and hallucinations. Instead of feeling that those concerns were thoroughly investigated, we felt dismissed. At one point, my father was given Ativan, and afterward he appeared extremely altered--almost as though he were in a state of psychosis. We were deeply concerned about his condition and the medications being administered. The hospital then attempted to discharge him home despite our concerns about whether he was safe to return home. The nurse practitioner and case manager suggested that our family find him a facility. We ultimately had to appeal the discharge. Only after that appeal did the hospital become responsible for helping arrange a rehabilitation placement. A rehabilitation facility was eventually identified, but our family was given very little information beyond the name of the facility. We were not given clear answers about how long he would be there, what services he would receive, or what the plan was for his care. The entire experience left our family feeling frustrated, dismissed, and extremely concerned about my father's safety and well-being. We still have unanswered questions about what caused his falls, his weakness, his worsening confusion, and his hallucinations. I am sharing this review because families deserve to know what our experience was like. If you have a loved one with cognitive impairment, weakness, recurrent falls, or complicated medical needs, I strongly encourage you to ask questions, advocate for your loved one, and make sure you fully understand the plan of care before accepting a discharge. Our family came to this hospital looking for help. Unfortunately, we left feeling like we had to fight to get our loved one the care and safety he needed. I want to also, put on record, if the hospital staff documented that they were in constant communication with us, is a lie and the documentation has been falsified. read more

Saint Francis Bartlett is one of the worst hospitals in Memphis Tennessee. The emergency department nursing are very rude don't have a care in the world. I'm talking about very unprofessional, talking about other patients who come in to help get while you trying to get bloodwork done just gossiping, I have the worst experience every time I go but today put the icing on the cake. No sense of urgency and understanding at all. I was discharged after I told the nurse in fast paced that I was very nauseous and still was in pain they didn't care. read more

The receptionist was courtesy and the check-in personnel was very professional and helpful. The nursing staff wad amazing and so was Dr. Bowden. I was having a colonoscopy procedure and the care and concern was beyond excellent. The entire staff who worked with Dr. Bowden was nice and had great sense of humor. Once the procedure was complete and I was stable. I was then discharged to go home. The care was and follow-up call was professional and I'm glad that my first visit went well. If you have any family members under Dr. Elias you better run and go somewhere else. I don't think he read my mother's chart once. Said she had her gall bladder removed when it was her appendix. Said she had a stoke when she never had one. No communication from him at all. Any mistakes he would laugh away. They only have one Gatstro doctor there and she wouldn't not listen to anything I was trying to tell her about what was going on. The nurses were great and the only thing good about our stay. Never once had anyone in to clean the room for 5 days. I will never take a family member there again. read more

I visited this hospital twice within a 2-month period, and my experiences were drastically different--yet both deeply concerning. My first visit was on 10/26/25 due to lower abdominal pain. The receptionist, who identified herself as an RN, was extremely short and rude, displaying little to no empathy. While it was early in the morning around 6:00 AM, and her shift was nearing its end, that does not excuse the lack of professionalism. No urine test, blood work, or diagnostic testing was performed. After a brief visual assessment, I was discharged without answers or proper care. On 12/8/25, I returned with the same issue, now worsened and accompanied by additional symptoms. This time, the environment was slightly more welcoming and logical, given my return for the similar problem. After evaluation, it was determined that I indeed pregnant that required immediate surgery, which could not be performed at the Bartlett location. Transportation was scheduled to transfer me to the Park location for surgery. Perhaps these findings could've been captured at previous visit, if these tests conducted. This is where the experience became unacceptable. I was forced to wait over 45 minutes for transport despite the situation being described as life-threatening. Waiting in severe pain for an extended period during a medical emergency demonstrated a serious lack of urgency, empathy, and alignment with the hospital's mission of patient care. Due to these experiences, I would not recommend this hospital for emergency services. Patients deserve timely, thorough, and compassionate care--especially when their health and lives are at risk. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Dr. Elias was my husband's doctor while in the hospital. He gave my husband medication he was deathly allergic to causing him to have to be full resuscitated. My husband did not feel safe in the hospital so he left against medical advice and died 3 days later. They did not tell anyone he had to be fully resuscitated or that they gave him medication he was allergic to. They put it in his file he had no known medication allergies knowing he did because they were told numerous times by my husband, myself and our daughter at the time of check in. The care quality they give is horrible and I believe they try to cover their mistakes by putting incorrect incorrect information in the patient's chart. Now I am left with a shattered heart and I doubt I will ever get over what they have done. I cannot find anywhere to file a complaint for what they did. Review of St. Francis Bartlett - April 2025 My mother was hospitalized at St. Francis Bartlett in beginning of April 2025 and passed away in the hospital on April 27, 2025. Sadly, the care she received was deeply unacceptable on many levels. Issues spanned housekeeping, communication, personal care, food services, hygiene, safety practices, and the professionalism of several nurses and CNAs. Housekeeping & Cleanliness * Her rooms were consistently dirty. I often had to clean them myself, including wiping down surfaces (the attached cloth shows the conditions we encountered). * Staff repeatedly left medical waste in the room--such as used wound wraps and even a bowel soiled wrap left on top of a bathroom hamper instead of inside it. * Dried blood from her port remained on the side of her bed and was never cleaned, despite nurses working with IVs and blood directly in the room. Personal Care & Hygiene Neglect * CNAs would not bathe my mother or change her linens as she lay in her own waste. My cousin and I had to take care of my mother's personal hygiene. * Her bed linens and hospital gowns were never changed unless a family member intervened. * The bandages on her feet--after her amputations--were not cleaned or changed regularly. (I have photos available, though I will not expose my mother publicly.) * Personal hygiene products that I brought for her were stolen. I reported the theft, but nothing was addressed. Feeding & Nutritional Neglect * My mother required assistance eating. Her food trays were left untouched because no one would help feed her. The only time she ate was when a family member was present to feed her. * The food itself was poor quality, and even when edible, it was pointless because she received no staff assistance. Communication Failures * My mother was moved to different rooms with no notification to the family. * Many times, I arrived to visit and discovered she was unexpectedly in dialysis or surgery. * It regularly took speaking to three different staff members before anyone could explain where she was or what procedure she was undergoing. Medical Oversight & Safety Concerns * Her PICC line sticker was dated 4/17/2025 and was not changed until 4/25/2025--only after my cousin pointed it out to the nurse. * Nurses frequently handled IVs, blood, and medications without wearing gloves, which is unsafe and unprofessional. * She was at risk for aspiration because she was often left lying flat and positioned in bed until a family member corrected it. Lack of Professionalism * The Step Down Unit staff often appeared irritated when asked questions about her care. * I repeatedly saw nurses sitting around talking or on social media while patients needed assistance. * It did not even appear to be an understaffing issue--just a lack of care, urgency, and professionalism. * My mother's stolen personal items were taken during the one day she spent on the 4th floor before being moved. Impact on Our Family * I had to take a leave of absence from work because I realized the Step Down Unit staff would not care for my mother appropriately without constant family presence. * Had I not taken off work and stayed with her, I truly believe she would not have lived as long as she did. * On the very first night, my daughter told me we had made a mistake bringing her to St. Francis. I had trusted her podiatrist's recommendation because that is where she performs surgery, but I regret that decision. The Only Positive Experience Her final days were spent in the Critical Care Unit, and I want to acknowledge that the nurses there demonstrated true compassion and professionalism. Bartlett St. Francis Hospital January 2026 During multiple visits to my nephew at St. Francis Bartlett, Room 223, I observed that the standard of cleanliness in the room was consistently inadequate. The overall quality of professional care provided by the medical staff did not meet acceptable standards. There was a persistent lack of attentiveness and concern for the patient's needs and medical condition, which was both disappointing and contrary to the level of care one should expect. On several occasions, staff failed to maintain proper hygiene following medical procedures, leaving soiled and bloody gowns and pads in the room for extended periods(days). Blood was observed on the bed, floor, and medical equipment, creating an unsanitary and unsafe environment. Despite the presence of a sink intended for handwashing, staff provided my nephew with drinking water from this source. Upon inspection by nephew and myself, mold and slime were found inside the faucet, raising significant concerns about infection control. My nephew was already being treated for a infection. His IV was moist and was disconnected from a pull during sleep he really didn't know after awakening for sleep what happen but it took a day and a half for someone to replace the IV to continue his antibiotic for his infection. Also a new nurse came in and notice right away the tubing was supposed to be capped off, Was not capped off. She quickly went to get a cap. That was great but this should have been cleaned and sanitized before those steps were taken. Being open for several hours could have cause even a more dangerous infection. The medical team frequently appeared unaware of the patient's condition, and essential information--such as fluid restrictions for a congestive heart failure patient on dialysis--was absent from the Nurse Communication Board. The board only displayed the names of the doctor and nurse, which were not updated when staff changed. Staff repeatedly provided fluids to the patient without regard for his medical requirements. Furthermore, staff and physicians often seemed uninformed or unwilling to answer basic questions. On one occasion, my nephew reported being left unattended on the operating table for over an hour, and a physician (Dr. Owgoo) made an inappropriate and dehumanizing remark, referring to him as "a piece of meat." Based on these repeated observations, I find the standards of care and professionalism at this facility to be unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to seek care elsewhere if possible. I would rate this as 0 stars if I could. The care quality was horrible. It wasn't because we couldn't get a room till the last 30 minutes, we were there for 3 hours (we got a ct scan and blood test) but because the ct nurse attitude was horrible, not only with how she talked to my husband but the way she looked after him. He can barely walk and she rolled her eyes when he struggled to get to the ct bed because she parked the wheelchair 4 feet away, but when she brought him back to the waiting room, she parked the wheelchair right away and obviously wasn't willing to help him get to any seat, not even the closest one to the door. read more

Went in Thursday night for a blood transfusion for my husband. We were triaged upon arrival and after an hour put in am ER room. Then a miracle appeared in our room called Matt Taylor the best nurse in an ER we have ever had, We told him we just wanted blood and to go home. I figured we would be there all night but made it home thanks to a very efficient, kind nurse. He made it happen. read more

bad service I was in the er because I was close to being dke I'm type 1 diabetic I arrived to the hospital I already had an IV in my arm they nurse came in he was trying to draw blood and couldn't find the vein in my wrist I told him that hurts so he called in another nurse to come help draw blood she stuck me with a needle on the median side of the elbow when she stuck me she hit a nerve and my hand went into a sharp needle like pain with numbness I pretty much screamed and said that hurt her respond is I need my glasses it's been about three weeks now and my hand still has the numb and tingling feeling no pain. if the patient is telling they are hurting because of the needle that means stop and ask someone for help I didn't get their names but they should be talked to my middle and index finger are in pain and numbness feeling like a thousand needle every time I touch something read more

Whitney a student nurse that attended to my husband and she was amazing. she helped my husband to the bathroom and while she waited for us..... she didn't just stand outside the bathroom, she saw a bed that needed to be changed and wiped down and she jumped on it. they don't make workers like this anymore! She was even off work... during change out and she dropped her personal bag and helped us to the bathroom again! Whitney is definitely an asset to St. Francis. read more

Worst hospital ever! I was in the ER for poison ivy that was on my face and in my eyes. ER doctor treated me with the worst contempt and lack of empathy. I ended up with a $19,500 bill with a warning if not paid in 15 days my credit would be ruined! I immediately called my insurance company and she put me on a 3 way call to the hospital billing. Was finally told that my insurance had paid all but around $128, so why was I getting billed $19,500 and threatened to pay or else? And they didn't cross in the mail, they had been paid a while before I was sent the letter. Then, February last year my veteran husband was told by his Telehealth to call an ambulance and get to the nearest hospital immediately as he was in AFib. V.A. telehealth had been monitoring his vitals and said that she would authorize him to go to the nearest hospital by ambulance. I have been fighting this now for almost a year. V.A. keeps denying the claim, asking for doctor's notes, ER and Ambulance records, etc. I keep getting billed for over $7,500 from St. Francis. Isn't this billing's responsibility to give this information to the V.A. so that the hospital can get paid? Don't they have a V.A. advocate to work with? Why at 89 years old do we seniors have to have all the stress of having to get this information through all the red tape, sent to V.A. billing so that the hospital can get paid? We will never go to St. Francis again, who can tell if they are getting paid by the insurance companies and then trying to get the patients to pay as well? I don't trust them or like the care either of us received. I tell everyone, stay away from this hospital, cause I am. read more

My stomach was hurting and I was vomiting a lot on Saturday, 17 Aug 24. Around 1am Sunday morning, the feeling worsen, so I decided to go to the hospital. I was not treated with the proper medical care in which I am entitled. There was a lot of miss communication, which caused me to be in excruciating pain for over 35+ hours, while not being able to sleep. I had to literally cry myself to sleep Monday early morning from the pain and mistreatment. My pain was not managed until after 3 nights of staying due to medical staff not being vigilant and careful. Nursing staff on Sunday night kept missing the time frame to ensure my combination of medicine works to control the pain. Then I was mistaken for another patient, which put me NPO for 17 hours, for NOTHING, which caused me to miss my oral pain medicine from 6:30pm Sunday until about 11:30am, Monday and they didn't come back for my 2:30 pm dose of morphine Monday, even after going to the nurses station twice. That caused my Percocet to wore off. I never was able to see if the morphine/Percocet will work. They barely provided any medication for inflammation. My night nurse, for Monday night, was the only one on top of giving me my medication. She even was very apologetic of what happened on the previous days. While under her care was the only time I was able to get some form of relief so I could sleep. I complained with the charge nurses, nurse manager and the patient advocate, who then had the nursing Director come to my room, during discharge to try to help rectify the issue. The nurses, the doctor, the nurse practitioner all from the first couple of days have had the nastiest attitudes, no empathy and didn't even apologize about the mistake that a previous nurse had made. That nurse argued me up and down Sunday early morning at 4:15am, that she told me at 10:30pm that night before that I was NPO. I was very adamant that she didn't tell me about that because if she did, I would have asked questions but she basically told me she knows what she told me, Due to her negligence to provide proper care, I was incorrectly placed on NPO for over 17 hours, until the doctor finally came and confirmed she never put me on NPO status. This caused me to miss meals, medicine and caused my glucose to decline. My pain management was never address until the night before discharge. During discharge, the nurse was moving faster to remove me, than she did to take care of me. She was moving so fast that blood shot out of my arm as she was removing my IV, aggressively. I felt rushed, even though I asked to speak with the Nurse Manger, Social Worker and Director, which what I had been asking for, for hours. I didn't even get any information prior to, to properly prepare me for discharge. That became a big ordeal in itself. My stay at St. Francis was the worst form of medical treatment to receive. I have never encountered such treatment and I pray no one else has to endure such mistreatment. read more

This is THE BEST hospital as far as my family is concerned. We have had to use them 3 times over the years and each time it has been over the top caring in every department and from every professional. We live 50 miles from this hospital and pass by 3 other hospitals on our way to Saint Francis Hospital- Bartlett because we know St. Francis Bartlett is the best by far. My wife and I have recommended this hospital to our friends and family over the years and no one has been disappointed. read more

I had to truly find some time to write this review because i def have a lot to say about it. Before i get into detail, I must announce that SAINT FRANCIS - BARTLETT ER DOES NOT FOLLOW COVID-19 PROTOCOLS!!!!!!! I arrived at the ER on 1/4/21 at 345 PM due to having severe stomach pains. The ER was pretty packed (which was expected). One thing i always notice about establishments are pens that they leave out for you to sign in-they are not being wiped down in between patients. So i used my own pen to sign in. In the waiting room, there were no wipes out to wipe down the seats! When i was asked to take a seat to wait for my name to be called, i asked if there were any wipes and the receptionist went to the back to grab some, allowed me to get 1-2 and then placed them back behind the desk! So i thought, well maybe the custodians are wiping down periodically..i waited for about 45 mins and was asked to come to the back to get my vitals taken. The nurse who took my blood, blood pressure and temperature constantly grabbed on her mask. It really grossed me out. After getting my vitals taken, i was sent back into the waiting room. I asked for another wipe as I waited for another hour. While sitting there, no custodian had come to wipe down the seats as people were coming in and out of the ER! Everyone was looking at me wiping down my seat in AW! I was finally called to the back after about 2hrs of being in the waiting room. I was put in a wheel chair, though i was perfectly fine to walk and taken to the back to get a CT. After my CT, i was sat up against a wall until a room became available. Mind you, the wall i was sat up against was right in front of the door that the patients from the waiting room was coming from. I waited and waited and waited. After waiting 2.5 hours after my CT, i stopped the doctor walking around and asked if he could give me an update. Not getting my name, he said let me see who you are assigned to. He never came back but awkwardly walked past me multiple times trying not to make eye contact. A nurse was passing by, i want to say her name was Lanesha and said to her "excuse me, could you give me an update? I've been sitting here for almost 3 hours since my CT." She looked at me and said "i don't know your name." Which i thought was rude to say. Why not just ask. I told her my name And she came back maybe 20 minutes later and said that my blood work and sample had sat out too long and could not be tested in the lab! Now had i not stopped her, i would've been provided inaccurate services!!! Lanesha took more blood & when i asked if another urine sample was needed, she said probably not. She took my blood pressure on a meter whose battery was running low. She kept mumbling how it wouldn't take and upset that there wasn't a plug near to charge it. Lanesha did apologize about the lab work sitting out and assured me i would be seen soon. I continued to wait and watch the staff use and reuse wheel chairs in between patients and NOT wiping them down! My pictures show the paramedics coming in and placing their mask ontop of their heads and not wearing them properly at all. I sat beside the IWR room for 6 hours in the hall and not ONCE did someone come to sanitize that room and i know at least 4 different patients were in there. At about 9PM, a nurse came up and let me know the results of my CT all while still sitting in the hall and sent me home with an over the counter Rx. I was never put in a room, never moved anywhere from the wall for nearly 5hrs!! When being discharged, i realized that no one had asked for my insurance card. I went back to the front desk and let them know that When i arrived, they only ask for your drivers license. So in my case, mine had my parents address so if they billed me, i probably would've never got it and sent to collections. The receptionist just asked for my license and scanned it. She never said what she needed it for? Never asked if the address on my license could receive mail. Never asked for insurance. None of that!!! Look, i know what to expect from an ER but i felt that this was the most horrible service I'd ever received from a group! To see the paramedics, nurses, doctors and staff act so carelessly during the pandemic! It was mind blowing! To have been at the ER for 6 hours sitting in a wheelchair outside in a hall-just baffles me! I would not recommend going here for anything!!!! I do plan on reaching out to Angela Jordan, the patient access director, to report this as well! I know nothing will ever be rectified and that's a shame! Smh read more

THIS IS ALL MY OPINION IN WHICH I AM ENTITLED TO HAVE AND EXPRESS! 1) 50% of the nurses are there just for the money. They don't care at all about the overall welfare, physically, mentally or emotionally, of the elderly patients, the generation who made the young nurses life better!!! No respect at all!! And don't be the opposite skin color of the nurses. They cover for each-other! NO...I not racist or prejudice at ALL. These days one can tell how another feels due to all the divisions and diversity going on..WHAT IS SO SAD IS NURSES ARE PLAYING THAT STUPID GAME!! I'm shocked and very disappointed in St Francis. USE TO BE THE FINEST HOSPITAL IN MEMPHIS/BARTLETT.. but they have even succumb to the bitterness that so many hold and are experiencing. 2) Do not expect to be able to continue your current medication routine either. Once you are checked in you are out of luck in them giving you any medication you are supposed to normally take. They sent it home if you have it on you and tell you that they will administer your medication you take on a normal basis but they don't. You end up withdrawing or feeling like you are loosing your mind due to absolute cold turkey. That in itself can cause major health issues and damage outside the current health issues a patient is having and the family has to help the patient get back on track. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AT ALL!! 3) OH...And if you're an advocate coffee drinker, well you can forget having coffee. They no longer have coffee at each nurses station because they said it lowers the appetite. I say BULL HOCKY!! They don't want to spend the money on it anymore and say well forget the patient, they don't need coffee anyway, like the hospital it the patients demo god who gets to tell them what they can and can't have regarding simple pleasures in life. 4. If the doctor tells you that you will be going home the next day then the nurses will go against his orders to keep you there to squeeze you for more money, I'm thinking. 5) AND...if your elderly parent calls & tells you that they are not being taken care of properly & tells you what is happening and you call & talk to the head nurse, well, be ready to be treated less than human. They do not care!!!! 6) You better bring along some food too. Broccoli & a biscuit is not a meal despite what the obviously very ignorant dietitian thinks!!! 7) YOU BETTER STAY WITH YOUR ELDERLY FAMILY MEMBER WHILE THEY ARE IN THE HOSPITAL P E R I O D !!! 8) AND...THEY WILL GIVE ANTIBIOTICS THAT ARE WAY TOO STRONG AND WILL CAUSE YOUR ELDERLY FAMILY MEMBER A TON MORE PROBLEMS. read more

I started out driving almost 2 hrs. 3:30 am we took off arriving in time for my 6:30 appointment my ride has a disability needs a w/c I meet the girl with an attitude immediately, trying to find a wheelchair mind you it's my surgery none in front I ask her can we please find one, as she orders snacks from some man that delivers chips etc moves on I tell her I can't find a wherl she said I can't leave the desk walk around to ER can somebody call wth? So I walk through the ER nervous for surgery none help provided, my ride I wheeled in no one to offer any help when I saw her next she didnt give a care that I chased a w/c down got things straight well she said you owe x amount, I said no one informed me, I can pay 40$ that's all I can do she have a seat you're not getting surgery today, mind you my pacemaker was a recall and at end of life, so I'm thinking ok this is life or death and she's hateful, thank God between my 40$ and my friends 75$ they agreed, so here we go my h&p would of warned my first pacemaker got MRSA I was in the hospital had home care and a wound vac, so yes it was scary. I went in they said no biggie we're gonna replace it, I got to the cath lab because don't you dare say it's an OR, the nurse in charge of the "cath lab" was horrible! Did she read my h&p did she even care? They put a heavy padding over my face I couldn't breathe right elbows etc all without O2 And a space to breathe no one explained anything they enjoyed poking anything I said, finally the moved the material so I could breathe that's when I heard my Dr. Korban I remember him saying "cocktail" in other words I was so alert they tried to find my placement I was alert enoughto mention where it was, Dr. Korban did an amazing job the nurses especially the head RN in the cath lab was horrible! She didn't care I wonder if the same happened to her how she would feel, she bitched and argued from the time I got there they covered my face etc never asked was I ok? What happened to bed side manner and empathy? I felt safe with my Dr in the room otherwise my experience at this hospital was horrible there were some true nurses there Reba, who couldn't believe I recalled everything and my d/c nurse, the true nurses, if you're going to do it for $ you truly disgust me Ms. Cath Lab! This was the worst experience of my life! I was thankful when my Dr came in, this outpatient experience was aweful as far as staff! I'm not ignorant we have plenty healthcare professionals in our family but this was aweful, I trust my Dr but I hope that you can do better! Terrible!!! Slowest staff ever except for the ER!! I brought my family member in due to health reasons and she had to stay over night. They did all scans and needed to be read over by neurology since they were all good but wanted a second opinion. She couldn't be discharged until neuro saw her. I got here at 9am to visit her. PT/OT came in said she was perfect. Still no neuro doctor yet until 6:30pm! Once he left he said he would get ahold of her floor doctor. Still no response as of making this review. Had to put call light on to be told that she is probably gone for the dad. Also had to put on call light ofor the nurses to page neuro and her doctors!! Doctors only do one round and that's at 7am. Why doesn't this hospital have more staff or another neuro doctor check things over!! Oh and the kitchen even screwed up on the meals. read more

Horrible, horrible service. The most expensive hospital in Memphis is the slowest and worst at taking care of er patients and getting them out. I understand taking worst cases first but you have to have a plan for the people that just sitting there. We have been here many hours for my husband's high blood pressure. I was in the hospital overnight after orthopedic surgery - there was no one there to check me in when I arrived and I had to wait for 30 to 45 minutes to get checked in- That caused them to rush my pre-op procedures. I did not get to my room until 730 pm from recovery - we asked for some type of food to be brought since I had had nothing to eat for almost 24 hours. We asked repeatedly - Nothing was ever brought. We asked for water and ice - nothing was ever brought- My sister finally went walking up and down the halls trying to find someone to give us just water and ice at a minimum. Nurses and aides gave me very little care during the night. The next morning- I asked for breakfast - they said it would be served between 8-9 am. I never received anything and kept asking. Finally about 9 am - they said I was "not in the system" so they did not know I was in the hospital............... Then about 10 am I asked for pain meds because no one had checked on my pain level even though I had major surgery. They said they could not give me pain meds because I was "not in the system " They started discharge procedures and discovered I had not been given the antibiotics I was supposed to receive after surgery. the entire visit was a joke - all the nurses who came in complained about the garbage piling up from the medical supplies that were used and left but no one cleaned it up I was definitely glad to leave read more

My husband was transferred here after Lakeside Behavioral Health refused to take him due to uncontrolled blood pressure and a-fib. I was not notified of his whereabouts until after 9 pm (he arrived there before 10 am), and being told he was in ICU. His ICU nurse called an hour later to say he was being transferred to a regular room. I live almost two hours away, and did not get there until the next morning. From the time I arrived at his bedside (prior to 8 am) until I left for home at 3 pm, his nurse never even put in an appearance, much less took his vitals. I was there for four consecutive days at similar hours, and only on the last day did I even see his assigned nurse, who wasn't taking vitals but trying to persuade my husband to wear a set of paper scrubs that were three sizes too small and asking why my husband was refusing to wear his heart telemetry unit. (He wasn't refusing to wear it-his overnight nurse had removed it and never replaced it.) While I understand that it was necessary to remove things from his room for his safety (but mostly to protect the hospital from liability), but he was denied access to a phone and a nurse call button! I could not even leave him with a cell phone and anyone he asked to call me never did. With our home being so far away, it was imperative that he be able to contact me. I was also rather upset with his case manager, who laughed when I informed her that my husband was not to be transferred back to Lakeside, but wanted to go to the VA Memphis psych unit, where his medical records and psychiatrist is. I was not overly impressed with her lack of effort, as I called the VA Memphis myself, only to learn that they had not heard from St Francis at all. Not too pleased with St Francis Bartlett. It's clean, but that's about all I can say. UPDATE: Despite the comment below stating that someone would look into my concerns, no one ever did, and seeing that it's been a year now, probably no one ever will. If you or your loved one have a choice, do NOT use this hospital. Unfortunately, I have a lot of experience with hospitals, mostly in the Atlanta,GA area, and never have I had such a shabby experience at well-run facilities, such as the Wellstar hospitals. read more

I'm currently in the hospital and feeling miserable. That didn't prevent Tatiana on the 3rd floor at the nurses station from being inexcusably and inexplicably plain rude. There's no excuse for this. Honestly, if you want to bring your horrible personality and overall bad attitude to a field please choose one other than health care. This is the best hospital. On 05/28/2021, I walk in this hospital having an asthma attack. The only concern was the resignation was a little slow getting my information but overall. The worst! Nasty nurses with no bedside manner. Truly uncaring. My 101 yr old grandmother was taken via ambulance on the evening of Dec. 23rd. because she had become very weak, lethargic and confused beyond the norm. She typically is able to stand, walk, and dress herself. She could do none of this. My brother in law stayed all night with her and still come 6 am the next morning they had yet to even check her into a room. Finally around 7 am she was admitted to a room at which point my brother in law left. My sister returned around noon to find her laying in a bed. No attention had been given to her. They had not even gotten a urine sample. She's had not even had so much as a drink of water. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. read more

This is the worst hospital i have ever been to literally needed my test to come back from the lab and no one has their results its been 3hours+ this hospital needs to be closed down no way that everybody test results are not back from the lab this shows how professional the lab expert is he/she is taking their great time i never had to wait for my results in las Vegas literally take 30 min to get everything done this hospital is incompetent And i dont see it saving anybody life they take to long to do anything i will never comeback here ever in my life. read more

I've had two elderly parents go here for various issues, and if you're in the ER/ICU, you get good treatment. Outside that, it's a gamble on quality and your life: poor management, translation problems with certain doctors, communication breakdowns, inadequate training of nursing/doctor staff all factors here. We had many problems with the doctors giving us conflicting advice, changing their minds without notice, all causing cascading series of problems afterwards. Also, both parents were discharged without being properly treated, only to return afterwards (several times). In future, my parents are going elsewhere. Many locals in Memphis say this isn't the best choice for care, only if you're in distress with nowhere else to go. read more

I recently spent a lot of time at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett's ICU unit. My grandmother has been in the ICU for a couple of weeks and I made a trip to Memphis to visit her this past week. I spent from 8am to 11pm every day with her for 3 days, so take the review as you will. I met a lot of the staff from the doctors to the nurses to the assistants and even other hospital staff. Every single person I met during my visit was happy, friendly, caring, and really was there to help as much as they could. My grandma was there due to some complications from a surgery, as well as a few other issues she has going on. She requires a lot of attention with everything that was going on with her right now. She can also be a handful, if you know what I mean. Even with all of that, she got the best attention possible. Every time someone came in, be it a nurse or the person delivering the meals, they would come in and talk with her. Listen to everything she had to say, including not medical related stuff, and would make her feel important. I felt good leaving her at night because I knew she would be in good hands with the staff. I don't have much experience with hospital stays, but if I had to be admitted, I hope the hospital would be as nice at St. Francis Bartlett. The only complaint would be the food, but hospitals aren't know for their food, are they? I wish I lived closer so that I could visit with my grandma more, as well as do some nice things for the ICU Unit's staff because they all deserve it! If I ever get sick again, I will go to a charity hospital in Bangladesh before I darken the doors of this horror house. It starts with the lazy, rude personnel in outpatient and day surgery registration and goes down hill from there. These people are some of the laziest, rudest individuals I have EVER met. Couldn't get released for 3 hours because the physical therapist who had to sign off on it, couldn't be bothered - she had to go to lunch. Then they finally get my husband to the car, only to find a blood trail. His surgeon did not fully close a vein, which opened when they pushed him into the wheelchair. An outpatient procedure which should have been over in 5 hours ended up being almost 13 hours - strictly due to incompetence and lack of caring. Never again!!! read more
