Lovely, lovely people, can't complain about the way I was treated as an outpatient and the rapid results came through within 3 hours. Very pleased. However - and this is a huge however - the main entrance is NOT handicapped-friendly. It's quite a walk from the parking lot to the door for someone with disabilities, and I was disappointed that a hospital is so unaccommodating about that. The layout should have been better thought out, especially considering they walled up the original main entrance that was immediately adjacent to the parking lot. As I said, it's disappointing and quite a burden for people whose walking capacity is limited. But the staff? A solid five stars read more

This is one of the worst hospitals in memphis with it being the closest naturally it is the most convenient but the waiting room is less than comfortable, the staff are rude with the exception of some of the nurses who are very kind, they treat everyone like a drug addict and look at you like your a plague for being sick and the majority of the time you get the wrong diagnosis if your seen at all due to high wait times they wouldn't care if someone died in their waiting room from being made to wait to be treated for what could be a life threatening injury or sickness... The older receptionist, said that since we drove to the facility, we would not be seen. She insisted that we have rode the ambulance. People in the healthcare field should have more compassion. The worst experience!!! If my wife could have made it to St. Francis in Bartlett we would have never come! Outside of the great care from the nurse Kourtney everyone else was very insensitive to my spouse from miss gendering to everyone gathered at the nursing station. If you are in need of HELP do NOT go to this hospital. There's an elderly woman that's probably in her late 80s sitting next to us who has been literally SCREAMING for help for the last 20 minutes and is having issues breathing. I went and grabbed a nurse for her and the nurse literally told her "the doctor will help you" and walked off. My mother has been here for the last 3 hours suffering from a fever of 106 with uncontrollable shakes and body pain. We have spoken to the nurse 4 times in the last hour and still can't get a nurse, nurse tech or a doctor in here to see her or even bring her a blanket. These people DO NOT care about you or what you may or may not need. VERY unprofessional and incompetent. I could understand if they were overwhelmed or busy but there are 5 nurses sitting at the nurses station talking about what they did last night and they're even making TikTok's. It got to the point where I went to my car to get my mom ibuprofen because the nurses REFUSE to come in here even just to check on her. read more

Brought my adult son to the ER on 4/24/24 and the ER nurse was so COLD and UNCARING. Her entire demeanor stunk to high heavens. Acted like she was better than everyone there that wanted help. I actually told her she was lucky she wasn't working for tips cause she'd be stone cold broke her attitude was that bad. Then once he was admitted with a DVT in his right leg he was given a doctor that can't even speak English well so communication was spotty at best with her. Also they kept trying to feed him food he isn't supposed to be eating because he has a stoma and has to be careful what he eats. Then that stupid doctor they gave him tried telling me that I didn't fill out the Obamacare paperwork right or he would have had no cost insurance. If I didn't care about going to jail I would have thrown that crazy bitch out the 5th floor window. And it takes forever to get discharged, because NO ONE is on the same page. read more

0 stars! Diane, CNA on the 4th floor, ignored my mom while she was trying to breath. She did not call the nurse when my mom repeated asked. The 4th floor receptionist also rushed her call and hung up on her. I'm her daughter from Charlotte, NC and had to call there to get the nurse to finally go to my mom's room because of her labored breathing. The director eventually apologized but this is not enough. They need to rehire nursing staff, especially the CNAs because my mom's life was on the line and she did not care for her at all. read more

I would like to take the time out to personally thank the entire staff at the Wound Care and Limb Preservation Center for the outstanding care I received this past month. It was such a refreshing and pleasant experience to deal with such a competent group of PROFESSIONALS. Not only was this a very competent group of medical employees, they exuded warmth and genuine concern for my medical condition. From the time I interacted with Rhonda on the phone, to the time PR Nurse Sandy released me, I had no doubt that I had made the correct decision to employ services from the Methodist hospital staff. Even the med techs, who assisted with dressing and servicing my injury, showed an inordinate degree of professionalism that I have not found with previous medical staff assistants I have encountered at other medical facilities. Moreover, even though the ride was nearly 20-25 miles long from my residence, I looked forward, each week, to making the junket from home to Methodist North. This hospital is the worst in Memphis Tennessee. I am a nurse and have worked for Baptist and Methodist University- but Methodist North takes the cake. The social worker Ashley on the 4th floor is rude and plays games. She is not there to support your sick loved one or your family. The case manager Sheila for the 4th floor failed to return a phone call and I called her multiple times - 3 days in a row. The unit secretary/receptionist told me "I don't give a God D**n about your loved one!". They violated our loved ones rights by not listening to him and following his wishes. The units are packed with patient and never enough or adequate staffing. The nurse and tech were awesome. They were overworked but always very pleasant. If you have a concern- they don't care at all. If your loved ones get admitted to this hospital please see them daily. There are so many rude and disgusting staff at this hospital. I called the CEO and never got a response. I will be making calls to to the appropriate agencies but I will never put another loved one in Methodist North Hospital. Years ago this was a very pleasant hospital but now it is horrible read more

No triage supplies or protocol. I was not asked about my medical history or my current list of meds. An X-ray was ordered by the ER but I was taken to Fast Track & forgotten for 2 hours. When I was finally taken to X-ray I was made to walk down several hallways with a back injury. I was admitted with symptoms they knowingly couldn't treat without MRI and charged me anyway. My 86 year old mother was admitted on Sat.5pm and released on Tues. 5pm. She never got a bath. Blood was spattered all over pillow case and it was not changed until I came to see her hours later and asked them to bring a clean one. Bed sheets not changed until 3rd day and only because I asked them to. Her primary care dr. said the drug prescriptions they gave were not correct and that the cause of her shortness of breath and pain was due to ostoperosis which they never once mentioned in their treatment. I am sure Medicare is being billed a lot of money and the whole hospital experience was a total waste of Medicare's money. read more

Been at this Hospital since 9:30 am 7-7-21 with chest pain's ordered a Ct scan at 3:00pm here it is 8:30 pm and still sitting in the waiting room with no Scan. My ex-husband suffered a massive stroke. He was taken to Methodist North Hospital. I was shocked at the treatment we received during his stay there. The ICU nurses were very unprofessional, and on more than one occasion made condescending remarks " He is going to pass anyway, I hope the doctor is not giving you false hope. I personally passed by two staff members gossiping about our situation. Our family was realistic about his situation and we knew God would eventually have the last say. I have never experienced such insensitive, uncaring treatment during any stay at Methodist University Hospital. read more

My mother was a patient here 8 times in 6 months before she died of cancer. The staff was amazing. The nurses took excellent care of her, the doctors were great, even the guy who brought her food tray, he always remembered her and when he saw that she was back in he would make a separate trip to bring her the juice she liked. When we discovered my father had cancer, we had to make sure he got surgery as soon as possible. Most of the hospitals had long waiting lists, and we didn't have time for that, so we had him admitted to Methodist North. The staff and nurses were very courteous. This might have been because they are less jam packed with patients, such that they can spend time with patients more. I don't know. But it was a good experience, and I recommend the hospital assuming that they have specialists you need for your procedure. read more

This is the worst hospital to attend for emergency situations. I have many unpleasant experiences here but this last time was the final straw. When I checked in I was experiencing upper respiratory problems and I checked into the emergency room around 1am and didn't leave until 7:40 am the next morning . I left still in pain and never received my results due to me being frustrated with the lack of urgency I voluntarily walked out . There was 11 other patients that were there around the time I got there and were still awaiting their results as well . read more

Please do not take your loved ones to this hospital. They called me today to pick up my loved one. I was at work and couldn't pick him up. The social worker was very rude,she stated " why Not" rudely. I had to hang up. I called back and found out that another unprepared family member was picking up my loved one. I know the hospital needs bed, but they threatened my other family member by stating they was going to send him to a homeless shelter if no one comes to pick him up. I called the hospital again and l was advise that they were going to send him to another hospital in another county. I advised that I would prefer that, but that charge nurse just overlooked what l stated and said we cannot keep patient as a convenience for family. I advised that it is a safety issue and to send my concern to the CEO. Honestly, l do not see them caring about his well-being...one positive note, he did have a good ER nurse and doc. On the Medicine I am Taking it Heat My Body Up even more. its a Strong Pain Medicine. I being going to a Pain Clinic. Since 2007. I past out in my Car due to Being over heated My Friend Call 911 and when they ask have I taken anything. He told them that I am on Pain Medicine. in which i was giving Narcan I was sent to Methodist North ER. they didn't do any Lab Work. and when I look at my Medical Records. Its Had On there That I has a Heroin Overdose. The Person who put that In my cart was a so call Nurse practitioner. The Patient Advocate. wasn't for the Patient. But for covering up the So call Nurse Practitioner Mistakes. with no Lab work. after Complaining the N/P still won't remove it from my chart. I think she is under Qualified for that Job. and need to be Remove from the ER. I wouldn't send anyone to that Hospital, that I care about. I was in the ER on January 2, 2019. Went in around 4:00 P.M and was out around 8:30. I have to say that everyone without any exception was just great. The staff was so professional and nice and they really get you in and get the things done that need to be done. Probably the worst hospital in the United States. I know Covid is a thing, and I appreciate that it makes life difficult for nurses and other employees, but... My 88 year old mother-in-law was a patient for almost two weeks. And of course, no family members are allowed in the hospital to help. She had a fall warning posted and was told not to get out of bed without assistance. But, when she needed to use the facilities, her call was not answered for over two hours--on several occasions. When she got a bloody nose and an aide answered her call, she was told if she needed more kleenex and the waste can for used kleenex she could get out of bed, and go get them. One day, her doctor stopped by at about 2:30 pm and she had not received her noon meal. It took the doctor's personal intervention to get the meal to her. My wife called patient advocacy and one week later has not received a return call. When I called the Hospital President's office at 2:00 PM I got a message that no one was available. When I called Patient Advocacy, I got the same message. I'll skip a dozen other problems, and end with....On Saturday AM her cardiologist's associate stopped by, examined her, reviewed her records and said "you're not going anywhere for awhile." On Sunday evening, about 5PM, a nurse came into her room and said "we're discharging you immediately." When my mother-in-law said she wasn't ready to go home, the nurse said, "well you can appeal the discharge, you need to sign this piece of paper. " My wife and I both talked to the nurse, and told my mother-in-law that she needed to sign the paper. We went to bed believing an appeal had been started. At about 8 AM Monday, a nurse came in and said you're being discharged and if you aren't gone by noon, you'll be footing the bill. Turned out the paper she signed was just a notice of the right to appeal. Did I mention my mother-in-law is 88 years old? And no one from the family is allowed into the hospital? And the discharge was attempted at 5PM? And Patient Advocacy won't return calls? And what I didn't mention was when we asked the nurse on Sunday night if her Cardiologist was involved in the decision to discharge, she said "I don't know". So, my mother-in-law is back home, we still don't know if the cardiologist is even aware she has been discharged, and I wouldn't trust anyone from this hospital with my medical care if they were the last hospital in the country. Oh by the way, 3 years ago this hospital had a five star rating, it's now down to 2. I wonder why? read more

ER nurse Eva Murphy.... the rudest most hateful healthcare provider EVER. Felt it was OK to eavesdrop on a private conversation. Yelled at a frightened 74 year old heart patient who was, speaking privately to his son. Told the heart patient (my Dad) that he didn't "have to stay there, remember you came here for help, we didn't come to you." Made this ill man confused and and upset. All my Dad said, in a closed curtain area, was he didn't want to take a stress test. He was afraid he wouldn't be able to complete it. She was hateful and rude. I had to have a total knee replacement last month, and my doctor wanted to do it at the joint replacement center at Methodist North. I was hesitant because living in Hernando, this was the farthest hospital away, so I knew the daily drive for my husband would be a bear. But my surgeon was right, and I'm so glad we went with his recommendation! The staff was wonderful, and I've never stayed in nicer facilities. The rooms are private and huge! And it was wonderful having physical therapy right there and so easy to handle. The staff was great, and they made my stay as pleasant as it could be, considering that no hospital stay is fun. My only complaint, and the reason I didn't 5 star it, was that I didn't get any post-op instructions leaving the hospital. I got paperwork about the prescriptions I was given, but nothing about wound care or follow-up. My physical therapist said this wasn't unheard of since so many TKR patients go from the hospital to rehab instead of straight home like I did, but it had us concerned and unsure about how to care for things our first few days home. read more

I'm very disappointed in the staff in the er department. No person should ever have to go through the things my family has been through, not one family member but two now that have been misdiagnosed. no individual should ever come to your facility and be misdiagnosed because you don't want to take the extra time to do a X-ray or lab work. Just cause you look at person thinking " oh they just want pain meds". My sister would still be here with us today if you would have taken the extra time to run test, but because she was addict you pushed her away like nothing was wrong so she left to go home still hurting with no relief , well guess what there was something wrong so she came back to y'all 3 days later within less than 24 hrs she died in your hospital if only you would have ran blood work 3days prior you would have known she was septic which could have been prevented. Now my nephew comes to y'all complaining of back pain once again misdiagnosed no test ran no xrays nothing. So he decided to go to other hospital for second opinion and they did their job and did the necessary test and found out that he has two BIG mass on his spine and is undergoing surgery in the morning. So for in the future I will not recommend anyone to come to your hospital and I hope your next patients are treated with respect and dignity and you do your job correctly. read more
