Nikki and her team were amazing from start to finish. I am by no means an event planner, but Nikki took the time to guide me through planning a catered party for my wife's surprise party. I had several changes that I sent to her, and never did I feel like I was imposing. Her replies were usually in the same hour, sometimes even sooner. The event went flawlessly - staff was on time and had plenty of time to set up. During the event, the bar tender - Mauricio - was on point and quick to mix drinks, as well as tend to the food. The catered dinner from Saint Germain Catering for 95 that I hosted was outstanding. From my first email, they called me and my event got rolling. Their willingness to revise my needs and invoice was met with patience and expertise. Every one of my guests raved about the Caribbean style menu that included fish, beef and chicken along with fresh salads and dressings, coconut rice and grilled vegetables. I really REALLY wanted to give this place five stars. But unfortunately my Yelp code of ethics won't allow me to be dishonest. I had to plan lunch for a company executive team retreat last minute. And by last minute, I mean it's 10:30 and I need lunch DELIVERED by 12:30 for 14 people and people are still trickling in at different times so I didn't have all the orders. That was a tall order so I ended up volunteering to pick up the food. But the planning process was stressful. The menu is very lengthy. They have separate boxes meals for individuals. However for some of the hot entree and the sides, the price per person but there needs to be at least 4 people ordering it. This wasn't clear to me from the menu. And apparently it wasn't clear to my colleagues either because a few people selected got entrees such as the brisket but when I called to place the order I was informed of the minimum number of order required. When I initially called this place to place the orders that's when I learned of some of the minimums. So I had to keep calling back to add things to our order and the staff was very patient. Didn't express any annoyance even though I am positive I was being annoying. The food was ready at the time they says When I went to pick up the food they were so friendly and patient. Put the food in the car for me and helped me verify everything way there. Even allowed me to add beverages. Unfortunately I had to dock them one star for the following reasons: First, The meals come in boxes with sides. Sandwiches come with these amazing homemade potatoes chips and pasta salad. Salads come with bread and a cookie. I asked one of the chefs if i could add a dozen cookies. He says "sure", and goes in the back and seems to be complying with my request. Then one of the other staff members comes out and says are you sure you want to add cookies. All the meals come with them. I'm like, are you sure. Because the other guy seemed to indicate that it wasn't the case. She says yes. So I skip my cookie order. Come to find out. All the entrees. DO NOT come with cookies. Secondly, 2 people ordered chicken Caesar salads. They were about $15. The company forgot the chicken even after I saw them verifying the order. Overall, good food and food service read more

I catered my sons 3rd birthday from here, and it was great. We got a fajita spread, Mac n cheese, and parm chips. The fajitas were tender and stayed moist the while day. Mac n cheese I got for the kids, it was so good all the adults ate it first. Everyone was complimenting the parm chips. I did a pick up order. It was very easy and they helped put everything in the car, Jasmine was great helping me with my order and answering all my questions since this was my first time ever getting catering. Saint Germain catered our wedding last weekend, and they were STELLAR. I know the struggle of finding an affordable wedding caterer with amazing food, and I *adamantly* recommend them to any couple. (They might be the industry's best-kept secret, and I don't expect them to stay that way for long...) For starters, I looked at over 30 different caterers in the DMV area. Almost ALL of them were woefully over-budget, so when Saint Germain promptly replied to my email with the best quote, I was extremely skeptical - even with the great reviews on Yelp and WeddingWire. After attending five tastings at other caterers (the ones where you're seated with 20 other couples enjoying lackluster food), I cautiously decided to give Saint Germain a try. We were blown away. We met Sarah in their industrial kitchen, at a beautiful table set up solely for us and our tasting guests (we forgot to bring anyone). She led an authentic, down-to-earth conversation about what we envisioned for our big day, the restaurants and type of food we love, etc. She embraced our budget and never once seemed to pressure us or upsell anything. Meanwhile, Chef Alika personally crafted and presented each dish to us. The food was DELICIOUS - far and away, better than anything we tried anywhere else. Chef Alika has formidable credentials of catering large-scale, VIP events - and the chops to prove it. We so appreciated him taking the time to discuss the inspiration behind each dish and suggest ways we could tailor it to our individual preferences. As soon as we walked out, we both said we'd found our caterer. At every point leading up to our wedding, Sarah was attentive and immediately responsive to our needs. Her flexibility and upbeat, can-do attitude gave this scatterbrained bride some much-needed calm and reassurance. Even when bad weather changed our whole wedding plan, Sarah was unfazed and figured out a backup plan where her team could prepare the food and keep it warm, even with rain and extreme cold outside. I was (obviously) busy the day of the wedding, so I regret that I didn't get to see Sarah, Chef Alika and their team in action. But when it was time for dinner, I walked into the banquet area to see the tables beautifully appointed with linens that perfectly matched our colors. When we hit a snafu of realizing the tables didn't have enough room to accommodate the "family style" serving platters we had requested, the team pulled an audible and seamlessly began serving each guest individually. Best of all, everyone RAVED about the food. Even my grandmother and father (legit cooks and constant food critics) said it was phenomenal food by any standard; they ate the leftovers the next two days. We're SO happy we went with Saint Germain. To be able to have a wedding dinner that exceeded everything we envisioned, was wonderful. But being able to offer delicious hors d'oeuvres, steak, chicken, potatoes, and vegetables within our budget (without all the nickle-and-dime fees of other caterers) truly made the experience spectacular. Saint Germain caterered a morning orientation for the office I work as a receptionist in. Needless to say, it was a magical surprise to see the bevy of amazing baked goodness that the caterer brought through the door this morning! From bagels to crossaints, danishes and sticky buns, they had the indulgent side covered, natch. Thankfully, there were was also a great fruit bowl - just to even things out. My first thought was that it was from Corner Bakery (which also has scrumptious food) before I took a look at the wrapper... We had Caesar salad, baked chips, sandwhichs, wraps, dessert and soda. I would give Saint Germain five stars, but I was disappointed not to find any tuna in our assortment of sandwiches and wraps. As someone with dietary restrictions, these variety trays usually provide a challenge... Tuna is a great solution and usually a staple choice. read more

I've used this small, personable company twice. I host a philanthropic wine tasting for approximately 16 people each year in May and two years ago, I decided to use St. Germain. I live in a typical 1950s Arlington Ranch House so there is not grandiose space nor is there a Foodie's kitchen. Since I do entertain quite a bit, I have my own plates, glasses and silverware so i have never inquired as to whether the company could provide me with those items. What I did ask them to provide: prepared appetizers paired with the wines that I was serving. Each year, the pairings were remarkably good and the food, plentiful. Prosciutto wrapped around melon paired with sauvginon blanc, beef tenderloin drizzled with homemade horseradish creme fraiche paired with malbec..... lovely pairings, delicious food. What I did not anticipate was the level of attentive service I would receive. I asked for a helper; I was provided a doorman, a waiter, a busboy and dishcleaner.... all the same person. Each year, this person was personable but not overly chatty, helpful but not intrusive, punctual and diligent. The helper served wine, refilled glasses, displayed dishes, passed around platters, picked up trash and washed dishes. St. Germain is a God Send. Amen. read more

An anniversary party was getting out of hand with many invitees inviting their friends to join in. All of the sudden I had to figure out a way to feed over 120 people who were expecting a multi-course dinner at my house. Called around and many of the local catering places were not interested to talk to me due to timing of the party as well as the size of the party, a few who did would have meant I would have had to get second mortgage on my house to be able to pay for it. Contacted Saint Germain Catering and they listened to me in detail as to what I was exactly trying to do and said they will try to get back to me with a proposal and sure enough in a few hours they came back with a great proposal for multi course dinner party, including the services and all needed dishes and silverware at a very reasonable price. To make the story short, they showed up 30min early, setup in the garage with an amazingly friendly and professional staff and more importantly a very fancy multi-course dinner that made everyone think I had planned this all along .... SGC catered my mother's 81st bday party with food delivery the day before, as I requested. They included reheating instructions so I could serve the food at mother's leisure. Every detail mattered and they exceeded the standard. The party guests rated the food. On a scale of one to ten, it was a 25. OUTSTANDING. I was pleasantly surprised. The delivery van looked distinguished and professional. It was easy to recognize the food delivery van. The man who delivered was polite, friendly, and kind, and took time to explain how to refrigerate and re-heat the food. I did not feel rushed. SGC gave me the exact order I asked for and more because their delicious seasoning far exceeded my expectations. I HAVE ALREADY PLACED MY SECOND ORDER WITH THEM.
