It's funny how times (and tastes) change over the years to recalibrate your thinking. What do I mean? Well years ago I visited this here Saint James Brewery...but not here. Over there. You know, in Holbrook. If you're confused, let me explain. You see, despite the name, SJB started itself in the LI town just mentioned (Holbrook) and not amidst the town you'd expect (um, Saint James?). The reasoning? I do not know, though perhaps they couldn't find a spot or financially it just wasn't in the cards at the time. Instead, Holbrook was a perfect location (surrounded by several other breweries) to showcase a nice selection of Belgian style brews (except for one tripel...grr). My buddy and I truly enjoyed the trip and friendliness of the employee to sanction a four star review, though I was so close to wanting to give five (or at least the non-existent 4.5 that all Yelpers desire). Flash forward years later and...well, I guess times and tastes haven't changed too much. It was more locations that altered because now Saint James has a lovely little brewery nestled in its namesake town. The bar is beautiful and looks clean and contemporary with a nice amount of seats, more if it weren't Covid times so their tiny spaced-out tent in the front also helps. Okay, tastes have changed a tad...I think. Back then I was torn on the star count, but this trip was more like a four star soirée (maybe 3.5?) with the beers I sampled. Trying to dabble in a handful of newer items had us steering clear of the classic Belgian beers that had put them on the map. My buddy actually got the flight (I drove) which allowed me to sip a bit of each. This included their Deep Ascent pale ale and Porter, Steam Home blonde IPA, and Unfinished Journey English brown ale. The brown ale was forgettable while the pale ale was decent in bringing in a crisp yet malty taste. The blonde IPA had good bite without being overpowering and the Porter finished things off with a bitter roasted flavor. It also was the full pour I chose to have and did seem to settle in respectably on the palate. Even so, I find myself dancing between two stars lower. Dare I give Saint James three total? Nah. It's still worthy of four and if for no other reason than to bring back into the spotlight the beers we tried. You see, all four suds were brewed with a yeast strain found in a shipwreck at the bottom of the ocean off of the coast of Long Island...from 1886! I mean, maybe this strain of yeast wasn't the most exciting and flavorful fungus that can culture a beer, but I had to give Saint James massive credit for procuring this yeast and putting it to good use in their brews. Kudos to you guys! Overall, Saint James Brewery definitely has a lot going for them with a semi-new and swanky spot (in actual Saint James!) and a little historic beer science taking place in the glasses of many drinkers. Perhaps this isn't the focal point of Saint James as their Belgian beers really make the tastebuds dance, and with that knowledge I'd gladly return to SJB to partake in more of these styles of beers (no offense, 1886 yeast strain). Hopefully a combo of both experiences will bring feelings (tastes too?) back up into the 4.5 region, but we shall see on the next trip if it all changes...again.

Lovely little brewery that has a lot of Belgian style beers. They have some indoor seating at the bar and in front there are a few small tables. You can bring your own food or order delivery/from the restaurant next door. It's first come first serve for seating and it filled up quickly early afternoon on a Saturday. Rachel the owner was tending bar and couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating during the rush of customers that came through. The beers were all very tasty and we also purchased bottles to go. We really liked the witbier and the Belgian single, both light and smooth.

Super cute! Small brewery but big taste. Looking forward to trying the strawberry beer and all the other fruit beers they have coming soon. Dog friendly!

There are places you go to grab a drink, and then there are places you genuinely look forward to…read more Six Harbors Brewing Company, nestled in the heart of Huntington Village, firmly belongs in that second category -- and I say that as someone who has been there a dozen times and counting. Founded in May 2018 by Huntington residents Mark and Karen Heuwetter after three years of hard work and planning, Six Harbors holds the proud distinction of being Huntington Village's first and only micro-brewery. And from the moment you walk in, you understand why the community embraced it so enthusiastically. The vibe is nautical meets industrial -- casual but polished, comfortable and undeniably inviting. It feels less like a commercial establishment and more like a really cool friend's living room, which is entirely by design. Mark and Karen are hands-on owners who have a genuine gift for making every patron feel welcome. The beer is excellent. There's a solid lineup of year-round staples alongside rotating seasonal options, which means there's always something new to try. That variety keeps every visit feeling fresh -- you never quite know what's going to be on tap, and that's half the fun. The food menu is intentionally simple: personal pizzas, giant pretzels, and North Fork potato chips. But here's the thing -- you're welcome to bring outside food, which is a refreshingly customer-friendly policy that you don't see everywhere. Now, here's what truly sets Six Harbors apart, and I say this with full sincerity: the dogs. Yes, Six Harbors is dog-friendly -- well-behaved, leashed pups are welcome at all times. But the real stars of the show are Buddy, Barley, and Brandy, three gorgeous golden retrievers affectionately known as "The Brew Dogs." They belong to Mark and Karen, and they come to work every day. These three are among the sweetest, most gentle dogs you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. Petting them takes your visit from great to truly amazing! And it doesn't stop there. Mark and Karen go above and beyond to celebrate their four-legged community. Throughout the year, Six Harbors hosts Yappy Hours, dog meet-ups, a Halloween costume party, a December ugly sweater party, and even birthday celebrations for the Brew Dogs themselves. (Just recently, we had the pleasure of attending Barley's seventh birthday -- an event that can only be described as pure, unfiltered Cuteness Overload.) It's no surprise that Six Harbors and the Brew Dogs have been featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show, NBC News, CBS, Buzzfeed, and more. Whether you're a craft beer enthusiast, a dog lover, or simply someone who appreciates a place with genuine warmth and character, Six Harbors Brewing Company is worth the trip. Highly, enthusiastically recommended!!

This place has a one of a kind vibe on the weekends. Wow! The crowd was fun, the band was awesome,…read morethe beer was good. Even though there was a huge crowd, the bartenders kept up with the demand. I never waited more than 5 minutes for a beer and there were hundreds of people there. I didn't try the food truck because I desperately wanted to try their homemade pretzels. They were perfect. Hot, soft, and chewy; the mustard that came with them was excellent. I like that they are dog friendly. I would like it more if they were a little more kid friendly too. I guess we will stick to the very crowded days so my toddler doesn't stand out in the crowd. I worry in quiet days, he wouldn't be welcomed since he is deep into the twos. IYKYK.
