A beautiful summer Sunday afternoon (8/2) and we discovered this hidden gem. A friend told us about it and we decided to come see for ourselves. Reservations will get you valet parking, a table and chairs and access to various food trucks, live music...And of course WINE!! What started in a small shack in a small vineyard by Barry in 1984, has graduated to this beautiful family run place. Now owned by his granddaughter and her partner, I'm sure he would be proud! The shack still stands and Stephen behind the counter, was super friendly and happy to tell me the story when I asked about the gentleman in the picture. We had flights and purchased two bottles. One to drink there and another to take home! You're allowed to bring your own food (no alcohol) if you wish. We devoured our sandwiches from home and enjoyed the live music duo. What a wonderful, wonderful laid back vibe! Folks' just enjoying the weather, their families and friends. If you have fur babies, they too are welcomed! We absolutely loved it here! This vineyard pleasant surprise! My fiancé and family visited yesterday! It's so close to my apartment and we never knew this hidden gem was here, even though it's been family-owned and maintained for 44 years. One of the highlights of our visit was sitting in the Adirondack chairs right outside the grapevines; it made for such a relaxing and unique experience. The wine flight was excellent, and we really enjoyed the wines we tasted. The gentleman working during our visit (I wish I had gotten his name) was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. He took the time to answer our questions and made us feel welcome. I also loved learning that they hand-print all of their wine labels and apply them to the bottles themselves. It's those personal touches that really make this place special. The valet parking was also very well organized. When you're ready to leave, you simply click the link that's sent to your phone, and they bring your car around, so you're not waiting forever. There were food trucks on-site, but you can also bring your own food. It's dog-friendly too, which is a nice bonus for pet owners. Who doesn't love dogs?! Overall, we had a wonderful visit and would definitely recommend stopping by if you're looking for a charming, family-run vineyard with a peaceful atmosphere and great wine. read more

On this extremely hot day I think back to quite a scorcher for a mid-May afternoon when my wife and I first checked out Loughlin Vineyard and its awesome vibes. Never been to Loughlin? Makes sense because you might not have even known it existed. Nestled in Sayville and not out east amongst the North Fork is where you'll find this unsuspecting winery. Parking is quite interesting with not a ton of close by spaces, but they do have completely free valet with a great usage of an app to help get your car to you in a timely way (I was impressed). But let's get to Loughlin itself. You can definitely walk right onto the grounds, but during peak times a reservation isn't a bad idea. My wife and I had a nice table that actually was placed at the beginning of a row of vines. I will say that though the positioning added to the vibes, the table was definitely small and if we were any more than us it would've been a struggle for space (the table had four chairs so it could've technically(?) held two more humans). Also, on that sizzling Sunday some shade would've been nice, but many tables were without umbrellas or any cover. Small things to note and remember for your/my next visit. Anyways, vino anyone? The wine flows at Loughlin with cups, bottles, or a flight of basically everything they have to offer. I went for this which gave a nice opportunity to try a wide range of styles. The lighter selections (Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinky Rosé) were good, though I thought the best Loughlin had to offer came in the form of their Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. I'd most certainly return for those two. Hungry? Loughlin's got that covered too with a food truck of options available, but the real winner here is the BYOF they have. It's always nice when a winery allows you to usher in your own grub and that's just what my wife and I did on this sunny afternoon enjoying the laid back feels and good times. Overall, Loughlin Vineyard has everything they need to be a real winner in the vino scene of Long Island. Perhaps their wines are not the best available, but there are still solid selections and an ability to bring in your own foods to match with them. A very hidden vineyard, so you would never happen to pass it. You drive up a very long private road, past the mansion and there it is. There is mandatory complimentary valet parking. They have two food trucks that rotate providing food. One is a brunch truck and the other is more salads, burgers etc. I have to say I was a little disappointed , as we came around 4 pm and I didn't want brunch, I assumed there would be an opportunity to get some cheese and crackers, but no, nada. The good news however is next time you come, you can bring your own food which is very nice! The have porta potty's, and keep them Pretty clean. There is music on the weekends which is nice . The day we went there was the food truck within feet of the musician and she was drowned out by the trucks loud generator. The truck needed to be parked much further away. I felt badly for the singer . Staff is very nice and friendly. You can reserve tables or Adirondack chairs ahead of time but not the same day. I lived in Sayville for 20 years and I can kick myself for never coming to this vineyard until last night 6/4/2026. If you know Meadow Croft estate the winery is behind the house down the dirt road. If you don't know Meadow Croft estate, I suggest doing a tour there or take a walk thru the nature path on the estate grounds. The winery is rustic and beautiful. It's not like one of the large and overcrowded wineries out East. This winery will transport you to a small Napa valley vineyard or someone's private vineyard in Europe. There's no big dining or tasting room. It's just a small wooden building for the tasting and a food truck on the premises - you have to go to their website for the truck of the day. There's plenty of seating in the form of Adirondack chairs, picnic tables and small 2 person tables right on the vineyard paths. There's also heating lamps and when it gets cooler there's fire pits. The wine itself is not to be missed and I'm not a wine sommelier but I'm going out on a limb and say their wines are better than the big names ones you'd find out east. The Sauvignon Blanc was our favorite but we also had the merlot and the Chardonnay. All three were amazing. The service was amazing and they have events most nights. Last night it was music bingo which was a lot of fun and my sis won 2 bottles of wine ! It's dog friendly btw and I'd recommend dog owners to come here bc it's quiet and relaxing for you and your pooch. I almost didn't what to write a review bc I want this place to be a best kept secret on LI but the folks who own this place deserve a 5 star review from me. My wife and I recently stumbled upon this quaint rustic vineyard in our ongoing quest to find good trivia nights in our area. Truthfully, we live less than 3 miles from Loughlin Vineyards but did not know about it. We are very happy we found it. As noted in prior reviews it is completely tucked away off the main road. You need to navigate a narrow dirt road to reach it but it's certainly worth it. Firstly , apparently this is the first night they have had trivia. Great job by Tango Time Trivia. The vineyard has a very nice selection of wines, beers and canned cocktails. We had a tasty, albeit sweet rum punch, a nice IPA and a flight of wine. The wines were all very good. They have a food truck on premises with a good selection of the usual fare. The grounds are natural and relaxing. Sitting outside sipping drinks it was hard to believe we were less than 10 minutes from home. Well worth the drive from a farther distance however. Looking forward to going back during the day. The staff is helpful, friendly and attentive. Definitely check it out. read more

Really adorable hidden gem with a rustic feel. They have a lot of cool events too, we went on the day of a food truck. They had nice music playing on the speakers and lit the fire pits when it got darker/cooler out. The staff were super friendly and offered samples of the wines. They also gave my toddler bubbles. I'll start with the negative - I visited in the winter while snow was on the ground - so the road was muddy, as well as the walk to the greenhouse, however I was in heels, so not the best choice for the day. So wear appropriate shoes based on weather conditions. Ok that aside, this place is amazing and so cute! I rented a greenhouse for 2hrs, it included a bottle of wine of your choice- we also ordered a 2nd bottle to try, both were very good - there's a food truck on site where you can order food, we opted for a few things to try and everything was amazing - there's a call button in the greenhouse, the staff comes to you takes your order and delivers it to you. The staff is amazing ! They were so responsive and so sweet. The greenhouse was adorable, it was nice sitting inside looking out at the snow. There's a heater, blankets, comfortable chairs, loveseat, coffee table, blue tooth speaker and games. I would for sure love to do this again. read more

My husband and I have been visiting this vineyard for many years. It is truly wonderful place. The service is always outstanding. Looking out over the vineyard is a fantastic view. I went there last weekend to hear a musician I like. It was a a chilly day. The staff was incredibly sweet and accommodating. They set up us with a table despite the fact that we did not have reservations. They got a heat lamp for us so that we would be comfortable. Everyone was upbeat and friendly. They even advised me that one of the port a potties is for women only. This is the second experience I had there. I highly recommend this winery for a relaxing and lovely day out. read more

Awesome small, homey, winery right in Sayville! I only recently heard about this winery. Of course, I usually go to the East End when I need some delicious wine, so when I saw this winery was extremely local, I had to give it a try. The winery is situated in the back of Meadow Croft, a historic landmark that belonged to Teddy Roosevelt's cousin. Based on the photos I've previously seen, I wasn't expecting a huge winery like Pindar, but the small, cozy atmosphere made it extremely inviting. The music playing was definitely a little odd, like Never Enough from The Greatest Showman and I Will Always Love You. I would have rather sat there in silence and listened to the birds chirping around us. For $10 a flight, we were able to try a "shot" of five wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Blush, Rose, Chardonnay and Merlot. The blush was our absolute favorite and took a $20 bottle home. There's enough chairs for everyone and they offer chess platters. I'm pretty sure you can bring in your own food. Enjoy a closer commute and drink at Loughlin! read more

Was not what we expected, but a good experience. I found Loughlin Vineyard after doing a search for nearby wineries in Long Island. North Fork was an option, but a bit too far. We really experienced the "hidden" part of hidden gem at first. The GPS brought us to the Roosevelt Estate, and my friend was so hesitant that we almost turned around. There was no sign for the Vineyard, and you have to drive down this narrow path in between tall grass and bogs to enter. We eventually saw a small sign with an arrow for the Vineyard, but as we got to the first building, we saw very few cars and people. We saw another car come by and continue down the next (very narrow) path, so we followed it into another makeshift parking area, where we essentially parked on the grass. We followed some folks walking down a third path (which led to yet another parking area, which we realized is where most parked) and finally spotted the vineyard. It's definitely quaint and rustic - basically an area behind a fence adjacent to the actual vineyard. There were a ton of people (we arrived around 2pm) gathered around plastic tables and seating but each group was spaced out. As soon as we entered, the hostess had us sign in and found us some open seats. We went into this small shack and two women welcomed us, served us our tastings, and explained what each wine was. We paid and took our wooden boards of five tiny shot glasses to our chairs and enjoyed the scenery. Thankfully we just had lunch, but I did see some snacks for purchase in case we were hungry and you can bring your own food too. Our tastings included Chardonnay, Rose', Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a Blush. All were good, although I feel the temperature of them were slightly warm - it kind of affected the taste for me. As we returned our wooden boards to the shack, we did spot another area at the back with some folks standing around a fire pit, which seemed like an ideal area for a larger group. read more

We went on a beautiful sunny day, had lots of seating options - almost all of them in the shade which was nice . Reservation was quick and easy and staff - very friendly. Bonus points - you can bring your own food and they are dog friendly which is awesome. However to my big disappointment the wine was terrible! Some of the wine had a very strange taste , I wanted to like it but I could not! And for $30 a bottle it could have been much much better! This winery was the cutest, quaint, and most intimate vineyard I've ever been to! I've been to some wineries out east and this was more perfect than those! It's like a secret you don't want anyone to know about! You literally go down this side road that looks like an abandoned road you're not supposed to drive down and you drive ALL the way down the road until you see a flag/sign that says "Wine a bit, you'll feel better." and you'll a small like wooden shed, and several chairs and picnic tables for you to eat and bring your own food! My friends and I wanted the South Bay Breeze sweet rosé but it wasn't in season until June, so we got the Pinky Pinky Pinky rosé and it was utterly perfect! definitely will be coming back this summer! :) read more

Talk about a hidden vineyard but boy is this place quaint! Some friends of mine had told me about this place and suggested that they take my wife and me there over the thanksgiving weekend. We agreed and they drove us. At one point, we made a left turn into a marsh (no sign present). My fears that they were secretly going to harm us were relieved when we past a mansion and saw more people parked (thank goodness). It was then a brief drive further to a small vineyard and little shack for wine tasting. Again, this place is quaint, a hidden gem! We parked the car and headed into the little shack, which can maybe accommodate 10 people. Upon walking in, we found a small bar with free crackers and pretzels as well as a wine list (with prices for bottles). We asked if we could sample the wines and were presented with 5 in total (ranging from white to red to rosé), each free of charge (granted they provided only 1-2 oz samples, but I never complain when something's free). Our friends selected their favorite sample and purchased the bottle (a nice rosé). We then found a nice bench table and sat down right next to the vineyard, complete with free plastic cups to enjoy our wine. After the wine was consumed, we then walked around and found a quaint nature walk! We took the stroll down the walk (approximately half a mile long if I had to judge) and enjoyed the natural beauty of the place. I also want to praise the sommelier who served us, who was the granddaughter of the original owner. She was an absolute pleasure and provided excellent service. Overall, we were very pleased our friends dragged us here. If you decide to visit, just make sure not to miss that secret (even eerie) turn into the marsh. read more

Great little vineyard off the beaten path. If you are looking to get away from the crowds, this is it. If you are looking for a place that is dog friendly and good for young kids (like a place where you don't have to worry about bothering others) this is it. If you are looking for good wine, look elsewhere - the wine is horrible. Also, not a lot of seating so if you arrive more than an 90 min after open, bring your own chair or blanket because seats fill up quickly. Bring your own food too, I brought my own little charcuterie board. No music or entertainment when I went, which was fine. The place was really really cute and met all my needs. Hidden gem on the South Shore. The owner runs this beautiful, tiny vineyard. Once in the tasting cabin/room, you will get to try 4 different wines: their blush South Bay Breeze (really good!), Cab Sauvignon (not a fan / very little tannins), Merlot (not a fan again - seemed watered down), and Chardonnay (perfect! crisp and white fruit!). The wines are priced $15.00 - $25.00 (pretty reasonable since the tastings are free!) and the cabin is decked out with WW2 memorabilia. Plus, the owner is hilarious/ full of stories. Once you are finished tasting/ buying, you are permitted to eat (BYOF - bring your own food) on the grounds near the vines - there are several picnic tables around the property and cabin. Seems like a great place for a picnic - there were a lot of children and small dogs walking around today. **Read the directions on their website! It is difficult to find. You must go on Main Street, pass St. Ann's church, and then you will see lots of marshland and a dirt road. Take the dirt road. You drive through the grounds of J.E. Roosevelt's former estate "Meadow Croft" and continue around the back past the care-takers' house. From there, continue onto the road (sounds sketchy but it's not / it is worth the venturing!) and down and you will see vines on your left and a small wooden cabin "OPEN" right in front of you / adjacent to the vines - this cabin is the tasting room. read more

I went to this vineyard with my 4 older sisters. The woman who was seating us, Beth, asked to check our IDs. She looked at my sisters and said "Oh they look of age-" but then she looked at my oldest sister and says, "Oh except the little one." My oldest sister is 32 years old and has achondroplasia which is a form of dwarfism, so Beth's comment was just plain rude as my sister is a grown woman. My sisters and I were quick to correct her, of course, but the point is that we shouldn't have had to. Beth later came to our table and offered a free bottle of wine as an apology which we appreciated. At the same time, we will remember this moment for the rest of our lives and my oldest sister was still harmed in the process, which cannot be repaired with a bottle of wine.
