Food was very good. I ordered the chicken and it was insanely huge!! The chicken meal is easily shareable. The FF had a tasty seasoning on them. The chicken also had a special honey mayonnaise. Tonight I enjoyed the garlic broiled walleye dinner. It was delicious! Perfectly cooked and served hot and fresh. Portion size was spot on for the price. Mashed red-skinned potatoes hit the spot as one of the sides. Asparagus was grilled perfectly. 10/10 would recommend!! read more

We walked over from the next door hotel because Homewood employees told us that the chef here at Saints had provided the chicken barley soup they served Wednesday evening- and that was terrific I normally would not have tried a hotel restaurant but I'm happy we came here because we had little energy remaining after a day of Mayo testing and the atmosphere here is very friendly, comfortable and inviting- We both ordered the Canadian Walleye sandwich (my moms without bread because she has celiac) and a few drinks I'd suggest the Canadian walleye at least once while you're in the area- you'll see it on most menus They have a Kona brew here on draft for $6 that was great too Service very friendly and you can "come as you are" here- lots of people on their own at the bar read more

This was a welcome dinner option for my mom and me when we were done with her Mayo Clinic appts for the day. She had a chicken wrap and sweet potato fries and was super happy with her choices. I had a walleye sandwich and regular fries (which were legit great, although I recommend asking for half seasoning). We split a Snickers pie for dessert which was decent. Prices were also reasonable. Tried Saints on Second Bar & Grill yesterday evening. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was wonderful to be able to have conversations without TV or background music blaring.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Shelby, our server was fantastic. I had one of the specials, a pork tenderloin sandwich with Cajun fries. Very good and very filling. J had a steak sandwich. He ordered med-rare but got med but also enjoyed it. I ordered food to go leaving St. Mary's . We ordered the spicy Thai wings . These are some of the best wings I've ever eaten . Like seriously good . Every time i go here I order the wings . Spicy, sweet, delicious. The Black and Blue Salad was also fantastic. The dressing made the salad . I'll ask for more next time it was that good . My wife ordered the penne pasta with chicken and asparagus. She said it was good then asparagus was slightly over cook . This is the only complaint and why I gave 4 not 5 stars. Over great menu items I've had are the Stocky chicken sandwich, Walleye sandwich and Steak sandwich . All were great . Cute little place with typical Midwest charm. We weren't expecting much for a hotel place but this had exactly what we needed after a long day visiting a relative at St Mary's. We got the steak sandwich. "How would you like that prepared?" we were asked. Um medium? Why would a shaved steak sandwich need that? But turns out it's an actual piece of steak! And it was good. ZERO OUT OF TEN. I've never left a review, but tonight bothered me enough to write this. I went to Saints with my family for the shrimp pasta. It's always been a great environment with great food. However tonight the food was good but the service was absolute dog water. Our waitress was rude right off the bat, then messed up our apps which were simple salads and didn't bring silverware out. She then took our order without writing anything down which would be fine if her memory was decent...it wasn't. She thoroughly messed up our main orders and then proceeded to blame the mistake on us instead of taking responsibility for herself. The manager came out and was nice about the situation but did nothing to fix it. The waitress then took about 10-15 minutes to come check in on us and then took another 10 minutes to run our bill which she also messed up by overcharging us. Overall ZERO out of ten experience and would not recommend unless you're looking for terrible service. read more

Located in the Marriott Courtyard, this bar and grill has a strange open feel when you walk in, almost as if they set up tables and chairs in the hotel lobby. Art on the wall beside the basketball game. There is also a traditional bar to the side with stools and happy hour and assortment of liquid dieters. The menu has bar fare with potato skins, burgers and wraps, pastas and steaks. Service was capable and cheerful and the place was clean as a whistle. The food was not fast (during which time I enjoyed engaging company). The ribeye was excellent, prepared to perfection. So was the asparagus, and mashed cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. I have always recommended this place to everyone. However things must of changed. I ordered the room service. My total was not told to me over the phone. When it arrived to my room the total should of been 37.00 but they charge an automatic tip And delivery charge to just bring the food up the elevator. My total was $57.00. They did not give me a copy of the receipt and I tipped an additional $5.00 on top of this because I wasn't aware of the additional charges. None of the financials would of been an issue for me if the food was good. Everything was cold. Cold shrimp tacos, the Walleye sandwich was not breaded as described and it was also cold. I came here for the bread pudding, which was surprisingly good since I walked in with low expectations since it was a banana bread pudding. It wasn't overly bananay, but after awhile I could taste more and more of the banana flavor. Bring your sweet tooth! I would say 4 stars for the bread pudding. I also got the blackened Steak Sandwich, the meat was super tough. I wouldn't say I have weak teeth lol but it was extremely tough at some spots. They should you a different type of meat for this sandwich. It would have been a lot better. I liked my experience here, regardless of my stars. I might come back to try some other things. read more

Pretty Good Food and Great Service!!!! So I have been staying at the hotel that this little bar/restaurant is located in (Courtyard Marriott) and I must say its a nice surprise to not have to leave the hotel all the time to get some good food. I have had quite a few things on the menu so hopefully I can be of some help. Wings (hot) were pretty stellar only complaint is that they were a little salty. I also had the Steak Sandwich which was damn good (just a tad over cooked so maybe ask for it rare since I asked for it med rare and it came out med well haha). There was also this thing that was like a hamburger cheese contraption over potato skins (think it was called BBQ Potato Skins), stay the hell away from those things I think they were just trying to do too much when it came to that dish. Tried the burger (think it was the Second St. Burger) and it was delish. Also, had the steak tacos and those were pretty good as well. As far as desert goes, man...whoa had the caramel apple pie a la mode and that was amazing so do try that. Wait staff is pretty cool there is a guy there named Ben that takes care of business so props to him and a chick named Ellen at the bar that holds it down quite well too so props to her. One plus they do have a Starbucks machine at the bar and since I was visiting when it was cold it was nice to get a hot choc with whiskey which was made perfect by the chick above. Last thing, prices are pretty reasonable and they do offer a happy hour (from 5-7 daily I think) that gives you some food items for 5 bucks and a few draft beers on tap for two bucks. Ordered take out at about 5pm on a Tuesday. Had the walleye sandwich and sweet potato fries. The fish was tasty, but there was a lot more bun than fish. Fries were ok. Asked about soup.. The only flavor available was jalapeño chicken. Decided to pass on that. Wanted the key lime cheese cake for dessert but there was none. Saints is part of the Courtyard Marriott hotel but they say it is not affiliated with the hotel - so they said. Honestly, I wish is was affiliated because it would probably be better. Service: Was excellent. Our waiter who was also the bartender was attentive if not overly so and did a nice job. Menu: Very generic options...not much beyond what you'd expect from a hotel bar. Certainly didn't live up to the downtown Rochester vibe with the many other choices in town. Food: It was ok. I had the shrimp tacos. Open tortillas that were stale or overcooked on edges, shrimp had good flavor and sauce was good but not a great effort. Dining partners had the ahi tuna sandwich - which they rated good and the shrimp fettucine. Price: 3 dinners, 4 drinks for a $49 tab without tip. Not bad. Atmosphere: We might as well have been in an office conference room. Very generic even though we were at a booth. We went because it was easy and didn't have to park. In hindsight, there are so many better options in Rochester so drive or walk a mile to far better options. Frankly, I have no idea why this is rated 4 stars because as far as food & atmosphere goes it was underwhelming and my 2 star rating is generous. read more

This is an outstanding restaurant with superb service!!! The staff has shown time and time again how to treat their customers with kindness and great serve. The cook(s) makes everything home-made with secret recipes! We have to recommend that famous 'Blacked streak sandwich' And if you can still make room for the 'Bread pudding your a champ!' I say share if you can but my husband and son refuse ... yes they usually need a nap after that yummy meal. Everything is good that's what is so impressive about this fine restaurant!! Wife and I were looking to have a date night after a long work week. Saints on Second turned out to be a very disappointing choice. Food quality 4.5 stars. Food value 2.75 stars. Service 1 star at best. Our server could not have been less intetested in serving us(we got an eye roll on several occasions). The final straw for me was when we were not offered dessert(I really wanted to try the Snickers cream pie). The check wad dropped off at the table without asking if we wanted another round so we went a couple doors down for one. Unlikely to return. read more
