While out for a motorcycle ride, my daughter suggested a few sushi options, including Saisaki, which she had not tried yet. We decided to give it a shot--and it blew us away! It's easy to see why the reviews are so good. They have a good menu with variety, including Thai options. The sushi rolls were exceptionally fresh and full of flavor. The restaurant is in a historic building and has the original hardwood floors and colonial charm to prove it. Service was quick and attentive. We tried some of our fave sushi rolls and green curry - both were fantastic. The eggplant in the curry was cooked to perfection and I wanted even more. Tons of chicken in the serving. The crab Rangoon was really flavorful - I think the scallions add a fresh layer to the fried shell. An amazing little find just outside Frederick in a historic house. There are smaller dining rooms spread throughout the restaurant and a large sushi bar. Servers were incredibly friendly as were the sushi chefs, and food was delivered quickly. The sushi was fresh and well made, and the duck roll was huge and loaded with flavor. Kiddo and I went there for our monthly date at lunch time. First time for him and he enjoyed his sashimi bento box with miso soup and fried gyoza for appetizer. I had the miso soup, Maryland and Yum-yum rolls. All tasted great, fresh, and just the right portion for lunch. Came here to celebrate a birthday and overall had a nice meal, though there were a few things that could've been better. We started with the Spicy Kani Salad ($8.50), which was good. I liked the addition of panko breadcrumbs for crunch, but I wish the imitation crab meat had been shredded more finely for better texture. For my entree, I ordered the Spicy Basil Crispy Duck (added $1 for Thai spicy). They definitely delivered on the spicy level, but the duck itself was not crispy. It came with rice and bell peppers and basil. The sushi tasted fresh, which was good. Service could use some improvement. We had to ask for small bowls for soy sauce, and when we requested a dessert menu to celebrate the birthday, we were told the kitchen had already closed. It would have been nice if our server had given us a heads up before the kitchen closed. The ambiance is cozy. It almost feels like dining in someone's house. They had Halloween decorations up and murals of historic Frederick painted on the walls. They also have a private parking lot, which made it convenient. Overall, food was good, but a little more attentiveness from the staff would've made the experience even better. read more

Asian Fusion is well, beloved in our house! In particular being able to get SUSHI, and other Asian dishes in one place is a great fit. Not everyone in our house loves Sushi. it is embarrassing but we are coping with that! Bulogi, amazing. Spring Rolls just perfect Sushi, wow Chicken (sort of Satay) perfect Gyoza awesome Good Asian focuses on good rice (wow, top notch) but also meeting the overall flavor palette. Saisaki Asian Fusion My husband and I went to Saisaki for lunch today. ((Chef's kiss)) We have been looking for a place that offers Toro (fatty tuna), like REAL quality Toro. We've lived in Japan and Hawai'i where the itamae serve the dishes with years of skill. So, yes we are snobs when it comes to sushi -- everything from the temperature of the rice, the amount of vinegar used, and of course the quality of fish. We would usually drive down to Rockville to get quality food, but LAWD thank you for Saisaki! If you want clean tasting quality sushi, Saisaki is a must. Love this place! The happy hour is great with $5 apps and beer/wine. Everything I've tried food-wise has also been really good. Whether more Thai related like curry or pad Thai. But my favorite is the hibachi. I've tried the teriyaki chicken and the steak and both were great. We love this place! Recently moved to Middletown and kept wondering what it was. The sign is a little hard to see but the food was incredible! We've been back multiple times. The sushi is fresh, we sat at the bar one time and they made us a special roll that wasn't on the menu! We loved it! The pad Thai is amazing and the hibachi, too. We stopped in at this new Asian fusion in a historical building. There are a few dining rooms, bar area, and some outdoor seatings. The service was terrific- very attentive but not overbearing. The menu is a mix of Japanese and Thai. Everything we ordered was delicious, including a carry-out order. Starters: Edamame- solid. It was topped with fried garlic, not too much. A nice surprise. Vegetable tempura- everything came in two pieces so we were able to taste everything. Great tempura. Perfectly fried. Loved the dipping sauce. Pork Katsu Bento box- we shared one and was more than enough. See picture for reference. Very good selection. Ended the meal with Sticky RRice with Mango. The mango was perfectly ripen. Wonderful way to end the meal. Because the meal was so good, we decided to order Panang Chicken to go. It was so good. Just enough heat. Spousal Unit and I wanted to go for a drive today to enjoy the weather, and look for a new (to us) restaurant. We found one, and immensely enjoyed it! Saisaki Asian Fusion is in the historic Hagan's Tavern building on the way to Braddock Heights. The tavern has housed many saloons, bars, and restaurants going back to the mid-1800s. The parking lot is large; the exterior is stone; the interior walls are decorated with landscapes showing views of Frederick from the past - very soothing! The menu is a mix of Japanese and Thai foods. We ordered spider rolls and red snapper nigiri as starters, followed by bento boxes. The rolls were excellent, made with very crispy and very well seasoned soft shell crabs. The nigiri was good, but the rice could have used additional seasoning (vinegar and salt). The bento boxes were enormous, and the food was excellent. More than enough food for lunch, and for snacking tonight! We were initially seated by a noisy four-top that was enjoying their mimosas way to much, but when we asked to move, they moved us to another room. Overall, the service was excellent - attentive, but not intrusive. Overall value was excellent! Will we return? Oh, most definitely! read more

Saisaki is newer to the Middletown area and we've quickly become fans. They are awesome with letting you ask for substitutions in your rolls, have an awesome bento box and a huge variety of options. The location is a really neat older building that has character, and conveniently located by the freeway. stopped by for the 2-roll lunch special. did carryout and didn't check bag before leaving. no napkins or spoon(for the miso soup) but i always carry extra in my car. miso soup was okay nothing special. the rolls were flavorful but fairly small on the inside and too much rice on the outside. they are still in the "soft opening" phase so i'll try again in a couple of weeks to see if it's improved any. read more

We've eaten here twice and would go back for sushi which we had on the second visit. First visit we tried burgers which were cooked well but lacked flavor and with a small portion for the price paid.
