The selection of beer is the best in Seward, and the cold room isn't overly cold so you can take your time. Great location and not a zoo like other spots in town during summer. read more

Great selection of local brews! Conveniently located on the way into town. The employee working when we arrived was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend stopping here before heading to your destination in Seward! read more

Wes, Mr.SakTown runs a very unique liquor store. He is continually bringing in new flavors and exotics from micro brewers both from instate brewers and traditional and experimental brewers from throughout the world. The beer selection is both interesting and varied. Often, specials are available at great pricing. Kegs are also available on request....a great deal for winter Alaskans! ...also great for summertime groups looking for campfire get togethers with a keg of choice The whole team at Saks are great....a great family involvement that provide wonderful service and personal service. Last year we stopped at this place to grab some beer. The owner was really cool and very friendly. We got a couple amazing draft beer and bought a growler as a souvenir. It's a local liquor place and the owner chat with us for a bit and told us some history about this place. I highly recommend stopping by this place before leaving Seward, AK. read more

History

Established in 2012.

Sak Town liquor, formally know as the Moose Pass Inn, in Moose Pass Alaska started in the Liquor business in 1955 with a territorial liquor license issued to the little roadhouse. Territorial license due to the fact, well Alaska was just a Territory and not yet a state. My mother and father bought the license in the early eighties, and had just a wee little bar, restaurant and liquor store in the same home we lived in. (The Inn) loved it. Patrons, customers who ever, what ever, were Friends and always welcome in our home. Now that we moved to Seward (SAK Town) I try to bring that same vibe to our little Liquor Store. Thank you friends.

This coffee shop was the most recommended and talked about shop by guides, locals and other shop owners. It obviously is beloved by its community and the line to get coffee spoke to that fact. The coffee was good, the line long, but service was quick and we even got a few take-aways. The ambiance is cute... Is the line worth the wait? I'm torn here. Coffee was good but not necessarily the best, lots of herbaceous drink combos if you enjoy that, other coffees balanced and delicious and the team takes care. However, the space seems overwhelming there are so many people that want to try it and I get why, but the line winds through the tables and there's lots of bumping and crowing in an almost uncomfortable manner which kills a chill morning vibe unfortunately. Baked goods are acceptable but not to die for- though I think maybe this leads back to your & my personal preference, geared toward an earthy pallet. 4 stars for Asthetic and product. They could benefit from an online ordering system or a counter persons who's only job was to get the order quick so guests could wait away from the service area. Too bad the counter for order wasn't near the back, that would fix the flow of the whole store, make it more enjoyable for guests and probably increase sales dramatically. Just a thought. Definitely go, avoid peak hours and order according to your preference so you can enjoy every drop.
