I was going to open this review with saying something like "there aren't enough breweries on the Kenai peninsula". Then I realized there are actually quite a few. There just are a lot of ho-hum, A-OK ones...or ones with very restricted hours. This one falls into the latter category, but certainly not the former! They had the unenviable position of opening up in the middle of a tourist-starved pandemic season. I tried to visit back in June but we drove through on a Thursday, and they weren't open. Anyway, this place brews pretty inventive brews for Alaska. Many of the breweries in the state seem to have gotten pretty complacent. They remind me of lower 48 craft breweries in the early-aughts. You know the type, their taps are something like this: Pale Ale, Porter, Stout, IPA, Wheat, and maybe a blonde or a cream ale. By contrast, Cooper Landing has multiple hazy IPAs, a seltzer, a fresh hop beer with locally grown hops, a fruit IPA, and even a pilsner! I get the impression that they are constantly rolling out fresh new beers, and not just brewing the same 5 endlessly! They also had a really nice outdoor area with fire pits! (second shot coming up...until then, I'm not taking any chances) The woman working the taps was super friendly and helpful. We got taster flights (which suck for bartenders, I know, I used to be one!) and she poured them with tangible joy! I hope to come back this summer! read more

Anywhere with free popcorn gets my vote! I've been buying Cooper a Landing brew for a while from the store in Cooper Landing. Happy to see they opened a brewery with a tasting room! Cozy atmosphere, friendly service. Lots of gear to purchase for souvenirs. We went on a Sunday, they had a food menu but advised they weren't selling any food at the time. Definitely worth a stop to break up your drive and enjoy a nice brew. They had an outdoor space but it's getting a little chilly out, so we opted for indoors. read more

I'm always happy to see new breweries opening in Alaska, and people pursuing their passion for craft beer. It's not an easy craft to perfect! The space at Cooper Landing Brewing is awesome. Seriously, what a beautiful building! The interior is quite spacious, and they also have an awesome patio with plenty of tents set up for shade as well as a fire pit. They just opened about a month ago so seems that beer production hasn't really taken off yet. They only had 3 options: a blonde, ipa & a red ale. The beer was decent. Pretty fun of the mill flavoring. All very session-able, and good beers to quench thirst after a busy day out fishing or rafting. I'm excited to see what else they have in store in terms of beer production. As its the only brewery in the area they don't really have to do anything crazy in terms of beer flavors, but it's nice to see some creativity. The free popcorn is a very nice touch! It seems that a the blue yeti food truck has been parking there on the weekends. Don't know if it's a permanent fixture, but I imagine they will also feature food trucks! Very welcomed addition to the area, and definitely going to be a great hangout especially on warm weather days! read more

It feels like Cooper Landing took all the best things from the best breweries around the state and put them all into practice at this amazing location: - - Expansive indoor and outdoor seating areas. - - A menu of drinks that ranges from the non-beer drinker to the craft beer snob. - - Food on site. Blue Yeti appears to be its own entity working within the kitchen. Side note: I have many questions. Will their menu change and morph like Bleeding Heart? Is Blue Yeti the restaurant on site permanently or will other restaurant rotate through the kitchen? Should I be writing a separate review for Blue Yeti? - - Lots and lot of merchandise displayed in a thoughtful and dynamic format. One can view the shirts and hoodies from just about any location indoors. - - Lots of cool artwork. My favorite is the one up and to the left of the ordering window for Blue Yeti. - - Thoughtful decorations and designs. Like the keg urinals in the bathrooms. The entire space is rustic while also being new, fresh, and hip. The menu is pretty small. The beer list as well. read more

This is honestly one of the best breweries in AK for so far. Totally my style, relaxed and chill and you can bring your dog in the outside area. Beers are super good from what I tried, Both IPA's we're good but I landed on the Cryo Camper, super fruity but also a great balance of Hop's very refreshing! Arterial Red is an incredible blend of red and also some hop's, good stuff. Think Haze is super fruity with a Distinct cranberry taste and super drinkable and really good. Cooper landing: Nice and smooth IPA really good. Pink boots: some subtle fruitiness with a lager mix, i'll definitely have my wife try this one. Staff is super nice, the brewery also has great merchandise as well as 4-packs ready to go, I'm so excited for when they can offer food as well, hopefully in the near future. read more

A nice brewery in Cooper Landing that makes a good stop over on the way to or from the Kenai Peninsula. Eight or nine beers are available on tap with cans, growlers, and assorted merch available for take away. The brewery has a large outdoor seating area, which is dog and kid friendly. Parking is plentiful. Food is available on site from Blue Yeti. The staff didn't seem the friendliest to customers, but maybe it was just a busy day. read more

Brew ok, seltzer (might have been a cider) was a mango peach but lacked the flavor of either. ambiance ok, food menu not inspiring. People next to us ordered food, said it was ok but not fabulous. Came here for their grand opening! A new epic brewery! The building is beautiful both inside and out and has great features that a lot of other micro breweries in Alaska don't have. They have an awesome outdoor patio with fire pits, dog bowls, market lights, flowers, gorgeous Mountain View's, and even a little sandbox and play house for kids! How awesome! They also offer free popcorn and the place was spotlessly clean. I also love that their main brewer is a woman that use to work at deschutes brewing in Oregon. They don't have a lot of beers on tap since they're just starting out, but they were all good. They have mostly lighter beers and 2 IPA's. We especially loved their NE Hazy IPA, Blonde, and Pilsner. The staff were SO nice and friendly, we felt like we belonged here. Didn't take a bunch of pictures, because I didn't want to be that weird person walking around taking pics of everything, so you'll just have to come check this place out for yourself! Can't wait to see what other beers they come out with in the future. read more

The brewing company does not have food. The food is handled by a second business called Blue Truck. This review is only for the beer. The ambiance is rustic Alaska. Log building with a patio. There is no great variety of beer. Only 8. Of course my favorites not available. My husband and son seemed to think beer was okay - nothing to write home about or buy a growler from. Even though we are assigned here for work for the next five years this is a place we will not go out of our way to by a beer from. Between the disappointing food from the food truck to the limited beer selection it is not worth the effort for a local to patronize. However, if you are driving thru and are hungry or want a cold beer to break up the drive this is a fine place to stop. read more

Bit of a hidden gem on the drive to Seward. I assume the brewery is relatively new since the space and bathrooms were immaculate. Brews were solid and the bartenders were super happy to help give a good recommendation. Last but not least, who doesn't love free popcorn? read more
