Gluten free Beef and Broccoli
Alicia N.

This was my first time at Sakana. I went during Dinner time on the weekend. They open for lunch, close for an hour and open for dinner. The restaurant is pretty big with booths . Pretty casual. My waitress was very nice . Menu was big. So much to choose from and so many Gluten Free options. I went specifically because there was so much to choose from that was Gluten Free! I Ordered a sushi roll, seaweed salad, beef and broccoli ( came with salad) all Gluten free) I wanted more but I was full! So I'll definitely go back to try other things from the menu. Everything is labeled on the menu which Is nice. Everything tasted amazing too! My left overs tasted even better! Prices were very good.

3.5 stars is what I would give if I could. As an update, a few things. I ordered online. Very easy, however, the ready times are off-on the sooner side, which is good in general, but means food sitting waiting longer than necessary. I got the Pad Thai with shrimp. As with the lo mein, a very generous amount of well-cooked, nicely sized shrimp. However, this is not a traditional Pad Thai. It was good, but a bit on the spicy side. Some people may expect it this way but traditional Pad Thai is not supposed to be spicy. It also doesn't mention that it's spice on the menu. The sauce was also a bit too "ketchupy". I also ordered the Thai spring rolls. You get 3 small rolls and a sweet dipping sauce. They were good but again, not a traditional wrapping. It was a bit more sweet and pastry-like, but still crispy.

We had stopped at Sakana Asian Bistro for a delicious meal. The staff was amazing. They were helpful with menu items. I ordered the sushi dinner with brown rice. Very fresh and delicious. My son ordered the Chinese style beef fried rice. We shared the vegetable dumpling. Everything tasted great. Want to try more next time. The restaurant was bright and although it was busy they didn't seem too loud which is always a plus for me.

I heard great things about Sakana, so I decided to check it out for dinner. The space itself is decently sized but dimly lit (at least at night). If you're craving some type of Asian food but unsure of what to get, this is a good place because the menu is extensive (sushi, Thai, Chinese). There's also an impressive cocktail menu that has holiday specials around Christmas. I ordered the Rainbow Roll, Green Dragon Roll, and a few appetizers. The Seaweed Salad was average (but came in a bigger dish compared to other restaurants), but I really enjoyed the Kani Salad. The sushi rolls were above average. Everything was fresh and tasty without too much rice. Even though I came in a group of seven, service was relatively fast. The only strange experience was that the waitress wore AirPods the entire time and was very soft-spoken (so we had to repeat our order a few times). The food came out correctly, though, so this isn't a huge deal.

Recently visited with my wife and 3 year old. We were extremely impressed and happy with our overall experience. Our waitress Nancy was absolutely amazing! She got our little guys lo mein out to him very quickly without us having to ask. She was also extremely attentive and friendly. Our food was amazing as well. Our son devoured his large serving of chicken lo mein (no veggies), the sushi rolls were very good, the hot and sour soup was arguably some of the best I've ever had and the black pepper chicken was definitely the best I've ever had. Overall, we loved the food and Nancy helped make our overall experience a great one. We plan to definitely go again in the future!

Fire Dragon Roll: Spicy tuna, Jalapeño, and Crab. On top is peppered tuna, avocado, spicy mayo and sriracha for an extra kick!

Food was not very good. Not like Chinese I've eaten before. Was quite expensive for not being good. Very nice people working there.

There is a list on the wall of a few dozen rolls so be prepared to take a while deciding unless you've got it memorized already or just choose the regular menu items. I got a spicy tuna and a yellowtail roll along with a spicy scallop hand roll and an order of uni sushi. I was pleasantly surprised that they has uni because most places just don't carry it anymore. It was the last two pieces available here tonight. My wife got a few veggie rolls with soy paper. She said they were good but one of the rolls already had a sauce on it which was unadvertised and not necessary. The only negative for me was the scallops. They had no taste. Fresh scallops should be sweet. All I tasted was the hot sauce.

Instead I got avocado, imitation crab and a small piece of tuna. ??? I'm fine with that if you say, hey we are out of certain fish and need to sub. But they didn't. And avocado and fake crab don't cost the same as high quality sashimi...but you are charging me for it. I called to ask why the sub and they told me, that's how it comes. When I showed her the menu, she said Oh, well all the fish were there too. What? No. And update your menu if you're changing the recipe. I'm sure they are trying to save money and I'm fine with that. Just advertise what you're getting. Trust is so important! Unfortunately, this place lost mine.

I repeat told me to hurry up and order because the kitchen closes at three. Talk about pressure! So I ordered miso soup, a devil roll, and a Pepsi. So as I'm sitting in my booth, waiting for the food to be prepared, and I was keeping an eye on the sushi, chef, he sneezed. OK, I hope he wiped his hands and none of that crap went into the sushi roll he was making. Anyways, out came the soda and the miso soup. The miso soup was served in a plastic bowl about 3/4 of the way up. Also included was a plastic soup spoon. Looking around, this place was decent inside. Why would they be serving in plastic bowls with plastic utensils? This made no sense but OK. Out came the devil roll, and it looked like sushi, except it had this weird red spam like texture stuff on the top of it. I had no clue what it was. I ate it, but it was barely edible and seeing it was 14.95 , I wasn't about to send it back. So the two waitresses kept staring at me like saying hurry up hurry up hurry, hurry hurry And all my 65+ years on this earth I never felt so rushed.. These waitresses were not friendly. As soon as I was finished it looked like the manager, came over and immediately cleaned the table. She didn't give me the best looks either. Anyways, the food was decent the price decent, but the help, be prepared to be attacked by soup Nazis This definitely won't be a place I'll return to. Manners, Sushi House, manners!

We had the seafood combo and shrimp and salmon both were excellent. Now the sauces- when hibachi first came to CT I loved both sauces but lately they have been so gross everywhere - well we both poured both sauces all over our food and got more. My group of friends were headed to an event, and so we decided to get dinner first. One of our group suggested a hibachi restaurant. Sakimura was close, so we decided on going there. There were 8 of us. The place was nice: clean, well lit, not too loud (for a performance based cooking experience). Not super high end, but the entire experience reflected that. We got seated right away (we had reservations). Drinks arrived quickly (BTW: large tropical cocktails were very inexpensive, IIRC between $6 and $10) and we all ordered from the hibachi menu. The chef put on a great performance and we were all enjoying it. Dinners were ready quickly (another BTW: a combo steak & shrimp meal was only $28 (Dec 2025). ALL 8 of us had enough for our lunches the next day. I don't remember if they have dessert on the menu but none of us had room. I often rate a restaurant on the cleanliness of their restrooms and the men's room looked like it was cleaned and maintained multiple times a day. They are in a small strip mall and have plenty of parking in front and back. I can't comment on their sushi menu; I didn't order from it.

So this was rather an interesting experience…read more..... Upon arrival, you'll question yourself and anyone at the front: "is this place open for dine-in?". Like when I mean it's one of those places STILL not fully re-opened from COVID, this is definitely one of those places. The space is rather large however, there were only three (3) tables open for seating. The rest of the tables were cluttered with some pretty looking Thai culture "knick knacks" that were nice but they also made it hard to wipe all the dust off the tables. Not sure if this is still the case but less clutter and more clean would be nice. Make your restaurant look more open and inviting. It looked more like a gift shop with a couple seats rather than a restaurant with a small gift shop. Anyways, everyone there was super nice. I always appreciate the kindness of course. But this was where I drew the line. My favorite Beef Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao) are advertised to be spicy, per usual. However, there was not one hint of any spice, kick or whatever you want to call it PERIOD. It wasn't even sweet enough to call it Pad See Eew (a sweeter, not spicy version of Pad Kee Mao for reference). I mean it was good, it was edible, but it just didn't remind me of the Beef Drunken Noodles that I signed up for. 3-Stars for the kindness and the effort. It just didn't feel like a restaurant when I visited. I knew I wasn't the only one to think this either as the next group of people that walked in straight up asked if this place was even a restaurant anymore.
