When I want some poke...I always stop by pokemoto. I never had a bad experience coming here over the years. I love trying different sauces and topping each time I come. But I always need it a bit spicy! I always get the 3 protein bowl and must have some crispy wonton on top. This satisfied my craving of rice and fish. The staff is always nice and quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Every time I go the tables are clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is not much seating but most people pick up and go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I sometimes get some boba if I feel like going all out on treating myself. I love coming here and they never disappoint.

Still solid all around. Raw fish is fresh (from frozen) and the toppings are all fresh, too. The workers are always courteous and quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not many people eat in but it's comfortable with modern pop music playing in background.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Went tonight and the shrimp was definitely not fresh... it had a fishy taste to it... so then I had "fish around" for the shrimp to get the out.... Otherwise great good filling food!!!

Fresh, healthy and delicious are the name of the game at Pokemoto. I love a good DIY bowl and this place has poke bowl options on lock! You can either choose one of their ready made combinations or be adventurous and mix and match your toppings and sauce toppings. I am a big fan of the 2 protein build your own bowl - always with extra seaweed salad! No matter what you choose all the ingredients are fresh, so you are going to have a flavor explosion in your mouth from your very first to last bite. There's also a Boba place right in the same building so you can grab a bowl and a drink for the perfect meal combo!

It turns out one of my 99 Problems is that I almost always give 5 Stars to Poke restaurants. I guess I just like Poke bowls. What's not to like? They're like sushi rolls unwrapped and artfully laid bare in a bowl. They're colorful and customizable. They always look great. I'm a fan. As fate would have it, an event brought me to the building that Pokemoto sits in. I decided in advance that I would order Pokemoto for dinner. Pokemoto is small, but the inside is cute and modern. I chose the Hawaiian Bowl, which comes with ahi tuna, sweet onions, crispy onions, cilantro, shredded nori, masago, spicy mayo and green onions. I added corn for pops of yellow and sweetness, jalapeños for heat and green splashes and cucumbers for the fresh flavor. It looked and tasted fresh and great. Yet again, I find myself giving 5 Stars to a Poke restaurant.

I've asked my employer to start sending my paycheck directly to Pokemoto in Wallingford. Let's just say I come here a lot. FOOD: Fresh ingredients and who doesn't love a build-your-own bowl of goodness? I usually get a salad with salmon, tuna, tons of toppings, spicy mayo & ponzu dressings, with added kani and ginger. ATMOSPHERE: Located in the plaza next to Lowe's on RT 5 means it's a perfect stop when you're running errands. Even during a busy lunch rush I never had to wait long. There are a few seats near the windows in the quaint space. Pro tip: They've got teas available, but try one of the canned Hawaiian juices before you check out. They are such a treat. Diy Bowl

I've been to multiple pokemoto locations already and it's always on point!! I went with my usual build your own bowl with the salmon and tuna on white rice, some edamame, cucumber, seaweed salad, Kani salad, and masago. YUM! Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Lots of sauces to choose from. Also non raw fish options for those who just want a regular cooked bowl.

This is such a hidden gem-- affordable, fresh, relatively healthy-- I'm so excited they brought this to Wallingford! The store shares a space with Loose Leaf Boba Company, so don't get confused when you walk in and see tow counters. They're clearly labeled though so it's only for a split second that you may be confused! They have great options for kids/picky eaters too, so don't get intimidated if you're not too familiar with Hawaiian cuisine. Totally worth checking out!

I had an awesome experience at this Pokemoto the other night. There are so many amazing topping options, it was *almost* too difficult to choose! I went with a rice based bowl, and the large is definitely large and you'll get at least 2 meals out of it. I'm definitely going to be coming back soon for another bowl and a dole whip, the crunchie options for the top are the best I've ever had on a poke bowl!

Personal message from staff: Aloha Kristy it's ok it will all taste good :) My wife and I ordered Pokémoto for the first time over the UberEats platform. I made my bowl and was a little nervous I may have not chosen the best mix of flavors (I can get over zealous and choose too much at times). So, I left a note in my order saying "This is my first time ordering. If I did not choose the best mix, please fix. Thank you :)" or something similar. Cut to us eating and talking about how amazing it was. My wife said, "This may be my favorite takeout meal." Big compliment as we eat take out very often. Then, as we are cleaning up, my wife starts folding up the delivery bag and says "Hey, look. They wrote you a message. It says, 'aloha Kristy it's ok it will all taste good :) " and I replied *mouth agape* "Awww... awesome, I'm putting that on social media! That deserves to be known :)!"

One of my favorite places! I like this location way better than the Hamden one. Everything is always fresh and tasty. Megan is THE BEST WORKER there. She is not cheap with the toppings at all and is super welcoming. I always cross my fingers that Megan is there when I walk in! As for the other workers I have to constantly repeat to add more toppings to them, which does get a bit frustrating. Megan makes the bowls also look so great and picture worthy. Put her in charge of the marketing photos! Food that looks good tastes good

I'm usually pretty easy going but this just take the cake. I love poke bowls but the people that works there is a hit or miss. Today is a HUGE miss. When I first walked in, I stood there for at least 2 min to have one of the 6 people that were sitting around to take my order. Then I was asked if they can help me. Then the girl acted like I was bothering her. The whole time I was ordering she didn't put enough protein and topping that looked like there's enough in there, mostly rice. After all of that, I left 10% tip that cost almost $40 because I refuse to be a Karen. But now it's bothering me so much that I can't even eat it.

Clean, well kept and cool place to sit and eat.

It's not a brick and mortar store, its more like a mini three-wheeled food truck parked in the rear lot of "It's Playtime" - an indoor kids' playground and playscape. We saw zero signs directing us to its location -we just kind of knew about it from a Facebook post. Cuckoo's is owned by It's Playtime and is open more or less the same hours they are (roughly from 9-5). Because the cart sometimes goes off premises to an event, it's worth your while to call before you scoot over. Cups of shaved ice are sold in 2 sizes for $4 or $5. There had a ton of flavors including Blue Vanilla, Grape, Lime, Mango, Cherry,Tigers Blood, Pickled Mango, Lemon, Blue Raspberry, Banana, Sour Apple, Blueberry, Cotton Candy, Pina Colada, Cola, Pink Lemonade, Guava Passion Fruit,Li Hing Mango, Strawberry, Passion Orange Guava, Blue Bubblegum, and Cake Batter. You can trick out your shaved ice with a Snow Cap (for an extra creamy sweet texture), or Fairy Dust (glitter), or candies for half a buck or so more. No review of Cuckoo's would be complete without a glowing report on the young lady running the stand. Isabelle was delightfully charming, informative, helpful, and as sweet as the shaved ice she served up. We ordered a snow-capped small banana and a snow-capped small blue vanilla They totaled $10.21. As our temperatures hit the 70's and 80's, why not check out Cuckoos to cool off?

She is very passionate about the menu and is very attentive to everyone. Thankfully, as our food was served she was there to explain that the best way to experience the chef's creation is to eat it as it presented (without soy sauce) first. She went on to explain that each dish is created with specific textures and flavors in mind to create an intentional balanced bite. She is absolutely correct and I am so glad we listened. In fact, after trying the "second" bite with soy sauce, we recognized that it was much better without it. The soy sauce is homemade and delicious but the sushi is so perfectly executed, it really does not need anything at all to shine. This is not your average sushi joint. The food and service will blow you away. Get the Princess Peach Roll if it's available. The Tiger Roll and the Flame Touch were also fantastic. I simply cannot imagine ordering anything other than their Curry Ramen bowl from this point forward. Like one would legitimately be insane not to get it, provided you are an average fan of standard Thai-style curries like Red, Panang, or even Las Vegas style Three-color (Red+Green+Yellow). My suggested mod: Ask for your home-crafted noodles a little extra "QQ" or chewy al dente. And ask for a side of their home-made chili oil to step up the Szechuan influence. Normally I shun the fusion or "new-style" menu items, but this Curry Ramen bowl is stuff of dreams. We came on a Friday evening and it was full but they were able to find us a table quickly. Inside, the place has a very casual feel and I honestly wasn't sure what we were going to get when we ordered. Just to say, looks were deceiving, but in a good way! The food was at a different (better) level than the ambience in the room. Basically, don't worry about how the place looks - you will love the food. Our waitress was sooo nice and friendly. We got our drinks quickly and ordered right away. Though we came for sushi, we were all mesmerized by the entree options and opted to try the bento boxes. I'm used to small bento boxes with tightly portioned foods and the "basics." What we got surprised us all. These bento boxes were actually huge plates of food. A full order of vegetable tempura, a whole California roll, entree, soup and gyoza. We barely made it through a quarter of it! And it was delicious! I got the chicken teriyaki and the chicken was so tender. The tempura was fried perfectly and the gyoza had a great flavor. All in all, I recommend you try this place out! Is it a fancy date night place? No. Is it a super casual date night place? Yes! Try the bento - you won't be disappointed! 4/5 stars only because they should spruce up the inside to match their amazing food!
