Wow, 4 yrs since I was last here! My friend and I got here for 530 on a Saturday and the parking lot was full. We had to wait for a table! The good thing is, it moved quickly and the wait wasn't long. Staff is great. They move fast! The restaurant it' self isn't huge but has enough seating . The menu has lots to choose from. Sushi, apps, salads, noodle, entrees, hibachi, drinks, desserts. Everything is so fresh! The menu isn't marked gluten free but they are able to Make some items gluten Free. They definitely have gluten free soy sauce. Staff is great in answering any questions. Give it a try! I'd say go on a non busy hour of the day so you can find parking easier. We recently ordered take-out and were pretty happy though we have experienced more authentic. Our order included pad Thai with chicken and Thai sweet basil with shrimp. The former was a little weak in the flavor department though no one would complain about the quantity. The Thai sweet basil proved to be quite good as did the accompanying Jasmine rice. At a Yelp event a few years back, I met a guy who loved Sweet Mango. I hadn't been. He couldn't entertain the idea that another area place could possibly be better than Sweet Mango. So I added it to my Try List. In March, we had a few people over and I got take out from a few spots. From Sweet Mango, I ordered a California roll, an eel cucumber roll, and one specialty roll that I think had shrimp tempura and avocado among other things. The rolls were fresh and tasty. This wasn't the most challenging order, but some of our friends prefer cooked sushi rolls. In any event, it was on par with other area good sushi places for rolls of this type. Amazing place. I still think about the flavors of my food for weeks every time. The fusion here is great, never overwhelming always balanced. Everything is delivered within good time after ordering and there are LOTS of options to choose from here. The place is very well decorated and always clean. I may have reviewed this in the past, but what the heck, this place is so nice. The fish is very fresh, the artistry of the sushi chef if very practiced. The crispy duck salad is so refreshing. Last visit, they were well stock on Uni, pheasant eggs, and Torro, all of which was exquisite. I've had Sashimi boats in the past as well, and their cuts are very generous and so fresh. The staff is super friendly and the owner is a hard working woman who runs a tight ship and always greets us when we walk in. My favorite place to get filled up with good sushi. I've tried some of my wife's dishes which tend to be more Americanized choices, and they're good enough I guess, but between you and me, she's missing the attraction here, the Sushi!!! read more

Sweet mango is a family run business in Southington. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The live fish tank adds a nice touch to the ambience of the dining area. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was minimal on a very, very hot day. They offered Thai and sushi dishes. The menu is full of a variety of traditional and fusion type entrées. This is one of the best sushi places around. The sushi is always fresh and they have a great variety of rolls, Thai entrees, and hibachi. The service is great and fast. It's a little small inside but the turnaround time for a table is quick during busy times. The shrimp hibachi lunch was very good and was a generous portion. Went to Sweet Mango for a quick lunch. We got seated pretty quick and they took our drink order. The space is pretty small and I can tell it can get packed on a busy day/night. We ordered from lunch menu and order three items. We got two rolls and two lunch entrees. The soup and salad came out quickly but the rest of the food took awhile to come out. There were only about three tables but I'm sure they had a bunch of to go orders as it was around lunch time. When the food did come it was delicious. My hibachi chicken was cooked perfectly. It was seared to my liking. The sushi here is always delicious and the presentation was nice. The waitress was quick and friendly. Overall we had a good time and all of this was about $37. I've only ordered take out from this restaurant but the majority of people dine in for this restaurant. Large dining area and a full bar are available. The menu has some unique options. One of my fave's is spicy mango chicken. It's delicious with chicken and mixture of sliced chunks of fresh mango, jalapeño and other veggies in sweet sauce. My takeout experience has been good. Online ordering is available. Their suggested pick up time is accurate so not much waiting. Parking lot is small for the amount of businesses they get. I just moved to the area and this has been my go to lunch spot. They have great lunch deals that include either miso soup or side salad. The sushi is fresh and they go light on the rice. I've had Sweet Mango on my list for a long time and finally got a chance to stop in this week. It's a quaint restaurant and I was immediately seated. I was in the mood for some hot tea, Kani salad and a cooked roll. The salad and the chicken tempura roll were delicious. Then I was asked if I wanted dessert, so I indulged in some chocolate cake. From the outside the place doesn't seem great but omg - give them a try ! The tuna dumplings were AMAZING,hearty yet refreshing. The crazy roll is exactly that - CRAZY ,delicious! Arrived at pickup up time and it was total CHAOS. Had to wait an additional 1-1/2 hours for order to be ready. Not to mention 1/2 my order sat on the counter for 1/2 hour waiting for other items to be prepared. Other customers were actually waiting longer and wanted to cancel their order but what Sweet Mango did was totally wrong, took your payment and then said your order be ready in 10 minutes and you waited over an hour like I did. Always great. They often have interesting special rolls. Call ahead or be prepared to wait for a table as they are often busy, but you know the fish is always fresh. There is a small bar you can eat at. Parking can be tight so I often park in the plaza next door. read more

I don't even have much to say... everything we've ever had has been amazing. Off the top of my head, Ichiban salad. Seaweed salad, Paradise Roll, Sweet Mango, Coconut shrimp roll, Fallen Angel roll, Bonsaj tree, Julia roll... There's a bunch of other rolls I've tried but I can't think of which ones. this was our first visit to Sweet Mango. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. But what stood out was the atmosphere. We watched customer after customer walk in the door and be greeted like family. Clearly, this restaurant has regulars who were happy to be there. There was a single mom of three young children who walked in. The compassion and kindness that the whole staff showed toward this young woman was remarkable. One of the waitresses even held the youngest one while the mom got the two older ones settled. You don't see this kind of connection with customers or kindness in a restaurant these days. This is the best sushi place in town! I've gotten takeout from here several times and it's always so fresh and tasty. Their online ordering system is also very easy to use, however they do not deliver. Today I dined in with a friend for lunch and once again they did not disappoint. The service was fantastic, and the sushi presentation was so cute and creative. The sexy girl roll is my favorite, with shrimp tempura on the inside and spicy tuna on the outside it is the best special roll on the menu! Imagine ordering your meal it's two plates of sushi and it took the restaurant one hour to prepare a sweet mango roll and a spicy crab roll . I think that's totally unacceptable. What if I was dining in , what if I was ordering five different items from the menu it would've taken them five hours to prepare or more at this point they need to hire more people to help I don't think a sushi roll needs to take one hour to prepare. I was told my sushi would've been ready in 35 minutes and I sat in my car and I waited. An hour later, my sushi still was not ready. My husband was waiting inside the restaurant to get my "to go" order. I understand that sushi is done to order, but to tell me 35 minutes it will be ready. 40 minutes past , fifty minutes, 60 minutes past and the sushi still cannot be ready, I don't know what to say. Also be prepared to be over looked especially if you are not a regular! My food was sitting there waiting but she was only taking food order from their regulars! And handing out the rest of others to their regular customers while over looking the other unfamiliar faces! There's so much room for improvement at this restaurant. A couple of my friends LOVE going to Sweet Mango so my husband and I had to give it a try. I can officially say... this will be our place to go for Sushi now! We went last Friday night and we were seated immediately. The inside seems clean and has great decor. The staff is extremely friendly and the chefs make some great food! I ordered my favorite, a lychee martini and my husband ordered a sapporo. For Apps, we ordered a Kani Salad which was very refreshing and Crab Rangoon which was delicious... the inside was flavorful BUT a little cold and the outside was the perfect amount of crisp.
