If you're looking for authentic hibachi, this isn't the place. However, that doesn't mean this place wasn't good with reasonable prices. It was located in the middle of Georgia in Macon which is a town I've never been to but we were on a road trip and needed to stop and charge our car. The food itself was decent but the portions were very generous. The place was empty but the staff were really friendly. I ordered the chicken and rice bowl and the tempura vegetables to go. My total was $16 and some change. The cashier at the front was friendly. The tempura was delicious. The tempura sauce was slightly sweet and went well with the tempura. The tempura was crisp and I could tell the vegetables were fresh. They also gave 10 large pieces for $5.95 which is the best I've ever seen anywhere for the amount of tempura they gjve you. The chicken and rice bowl was a large quantity. Much larger than any plate you would get for similar anywhere else. I paid $8.95 for the plate. I could tell the rice and chicken were fresh prepared. However... the chicken and rice bowl had very little seasoning. It was freshly made but not very flavorful. So I suggest you bring your own seasoning. Unfortunately, after eating it my stomach started to bubble and I had a terrible case of the.. bubble gut. I was making frequent restroom trips. This is such a normal occurrence with me when I eat Asian food that I actually googled diarrhea and Asian food and per google diarrhea is a common occurrence when eating Asian food. Although not well understood why this happens the medical community notes the link between IBS and eating Chinese/Asian food. It's thought that some people may have a sensitivity to the MSG. Also certain common ingredients in the (chili peppers, etc.) Can cause it. I believe it's the msg.. I eat all of the other ingredients frequently and I never have terrible bouts of 'the runs'. I was running to the restroom all that next morning. Repeatedly. So I won't ever order the chicken and rice again. However I will order the tempura. Overall.. the service was wonderful and the food was mid. The portion sizes were large. But seasoning was off with the fried rice and chicken. read more

Strangely Familiar......Always struggling what to eat and where, My pretty opinionated wife descides on sushi, and I agreed for once. Tried Pokey Bowl, ginger salad and Spicy tuna roll. Amazing.! We went on a road trip with friends to Florida and found this gem of a place on the way! Food was outstanding, service was great, they even gave us free spring rolls! I still patronize this restaurant. Mainly, I opt for delivery. I have walked in to pick up my order. I wish I could re-decorate the seated areas. It's not a place to enjoy the environment while eating at the tables. It would take little to face lift the eating area. Just the same, I remain a happy carry out/deliver my food customer! Due to the inflated economy~expect to receive a bit less food achieved by using a smaller covered container. But the container is packed! I did request my veggies to be placed on the side. So they were placed in another container which was oversized for the small amount of veggies it contained. But face it! Even containers are an added expense. So, I can't kick too hard. Their employees need to be paid. So does rent & utilities. As my purse strings tighten, I'll have to mimic their menu at home. This is a pretty average sushi /hibachi place. I have had a lot of sushi and hibachi and this was simply ok. Even I think of hibachi I think of a solid delicious fried rice with vegetables and my protein choice if I choose. I ordered salmon hibachi, gyoza, and a spicy tuna roll. The fried rice that came with the hibachi tasted like white rice with soy and bits of eggs on it. Not a fried rice that's been properly prepared and everything mixed well. The salmon was fried but didn't have much flavor. It was a good piece of fish just didn't have seasoning. The vegetables were good. The yum yum sauce was unlike any yum yum sauce I've had. I personally did not like it. It wasn't like the sweet creamy sauce I'm used to when yum yum or white sauce is advertised. If this was my only option I'd eat it but definitely wouldn't be my first thought or even second choice. If you're looking for something that will do or is ok then yes. If you're looking for good hibachi I wouldn't say this is the place. read more

Hibachi is always a good idea. I love that Sake makes hibachi easy to get - you don't have to sit at a hibachi table and watch an entire show before getting to eat your hibachi food. Don't get me wrong, the hibachi table experience is a must at least once, but once you're had that you just want to skip all the hoorah and go straight to the food. Sake actually forces you to skip the hoorah. There are no hibachi tables. I'd actually say the setup is more so for takeout. There are regular tables inside though should you choose to dine-in. I was conflicted trying to decide whether I wanted to do the teriyaki chicken or the hibachi chicken. Ended up going with hibachi. The meal comes with fried rice and vegetables as well. I was surprised by the portion sizes - definitely enough to have leftovers. It also comes with yum yum sauce. The chicken was a little dry, but not too much so. It was well seasoned. The fried rice was delicious and the vegetables were too. I look forward to returning and trying out the teriyaki chicken. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews and almost never do. I had a craving for sushi so I went into here. I got a rainbow roll and seaweed salad. It was inedible. The fish was old and tasted very wrong. The seaweed was squishy and also old. To be fair I didn't try any noodles or hibachi, maybe that's ok, but don't order sushi. I left my plate almost totally uneaten and was very relieved that I didn't get food poisoning. You know that feeling when you put food into your mouth and your body says "uh oh!" I really wanted to like this place. I love hibachi and the other places I get it from are at least 25 mins away from where I live (this place is much closer). I'll start with the pros...my order was hot and both plates had generous portions on them. The staff was nice enough so no issues there. The main issue is the food wasn't that great. I was hungry so I ate most of it (unlike my boyfriend who took a few bites and threw his away...he said the chicken had a wild taste to it). A big turn off is that the inside of the building looked dingy. Everything looked worn and on its last leg...so it looks like I will continue to take a drive to Sake Poke Hibachi or Hibachi Express in Milledgeville. A great place to get food in Macon, Georgia. We were recommended by the staff at the hotel to try the Japanese hibachi restaurant down the street. Googling it brought us to this place. It is located in a strip mall between a Big Lots store and Planet Fitness. We found out later that this is not the location that they wanted us to try but we were both very glad that we did. It has booths along both walls and tables lining the center part. There is no waiter or waitress. You order at the back of the store. The staff was very nice and ordering off the menu behind the counter was easy. They were not really busy when we ordered and, when the food was ready, they brought it out to us. The drinks are served yourself affair to the left of the counter where the chopsticks are available. I ordered the hibachi chicken. It came with a lot of rice, chicken, and vegetables. There was so much food that I saved it and ate a second meal from what remained after reheating it. It was delicious both times. I am glad that I tried it and recommend it to fellow travelers in the area looking for great food. read more

Staff is so nice, my order got mixed up with someone else's, but employee fixed it right away and gave me my left over change. At first I didn't notice as we sat down to eat due to me being so focused on one plate and tending to my babies, but it didn't dawn on me until I noticed we were missing our mochi ice cream LOL but overall the food is so yummy!! So today is my second time coming to the restaurant. First time I ordered takeout and this time I sat in. This is probably the freshest sushi I've had in Macon. Other establishments give me concerns with the proper food handing, but this one doesn't. My chicken wings were freshly cooked and were crispy and delicious.
