One of my favorite stores in the desert. This is definitely a high end store. But you get first quality merchandise. They carry almost anything you need to look your best. Both fot men and women. Fashionable womens clothing. Purses, shoes, makeup, jewlry, they have it all. And just experience of shopping here is worth the price..

New Creed fragrance "Carmina" to be released late October 2023. Pre-orders being accepted here.

This Saks in the El Paseo shopping area in Palm Dessert is much smaller than many other Saks Fifth Avenue stores, but the friendly and attentive store associates make shopping here a much more enjoyable experience than many other locations. Their offerings are mainly cosmetics and fragrances, women's clothes & accessories, and a small collection of men's apparel. The front entrance of the store off El Paseo is beautifully landscaped, but a drawback is that the front entrance is a bit cumbersome and lengthy for entry. If driving or needing special assistance, use the parking lot entrance at the rear of the store off Shadow Mountain Drive.

I "love" how... when you search for Saks Fifth Avenue, you get their general profile. NOT their SAKS for each location like Beverly Hills, Palm Desert & Orange County... oh no! It's a composite review for all of them. Each store should be addressed differently and have their own Yelp profile. After all, each SAKS location, appeals to an entirely separate & completely regional type of clientele. Apparently this company refuses to separate their reviews by store location. This particular store in Palm Desert is particularly steered toward women 70, 75, 80 and older. I can't seem to get away from brands like Retrofete, Khaite, Aje, Andamane, Atelier Versace, BA&SH, Badgley Mischka, Baum und Pferdgarten, ByTiMo, Carolina Herrera, Chiara Boni, Chloe, Derek Lam 10 Crosby, Dodo Bar Or, Eberjey, Emilio Pucci, Escada, Etro, Farm Rio, Gottex Swimwear, ILA, JW Anderson, Lanvin, LoveShackFancy, Marchesa Notte, MISA Los Angeles, MUNTHE, PatBO, RHODE, & Saloni. Every single one of these brands I've either purchased an item from the line or have tried some of the articles from that season's collection. I've tried again and again and with NO success to be able to bring these brands into my wardrobe wholeheartedly but they all make me look 30 years older. I don't want to look 30 years older. We are ALL going to get there one day... god willing... but why should I rush it and dress like an 80 year old before I'm 80??? I realize that Palm Desert is a seasonal place and most of the clientele will already have their outfits figured out before coming to the Coachella Valley for the season... However (!).. it gets old when you want to see what a particular brand is doing, up close and personal, and the only thing you can do is look at the collection online. Some of the collections will be in its completion like Zimmerman and LaDoubleJ...however several brands are missing signature pieces in the current collection as displayed at the store level. I'm far too young to wear the brands mentioned previously. It makes for a very difficult shopping experience to shop at SAKS ..pretty much anywhere there is a SAKS. I am not buying full length sequined dresses nor do I want to look ancient. I can't even stand the sequined look anymore. It's a look that is over and done with and should be relegated to hollywood starlets or starlet wannabe's. I've become more conservative as the years have droned on, but I am by no means ready to wear clothes that are designed to look good on 80 year olds!

What happened to Saks Fifth Avenue ? I worked for them 18 years and what I experienced at the Palm Desert store was humiliating. Saks is where you are supposed to feel listened to and catered to when buying something for a special occasion. Today I looked online for a vendor thar Saks sells. I found the vendor section but when I asked Pearl for help. I got scolded and asked what Saks location I needed. I said this one Palm Desert. I didn't want off 5th She asked me the same question again It was so weird. I wasn't in the wrong place. I only wanted to know if they had the item in stock. She walked me over to the section and said look for it. Thank god another associate heard and offered to help. Times for retail are bad. I was planning to spend at least 1000 dollars. When I worked for Saks the customer came first. I won't be coming back.

    Great Saks 5th

It was just a simple calculation in my head because of the El Paseo location and it being not too far from the all-out MAGA Patriot Store. The 'pretty things inside' sidewalk sign caught my attention today and I ventured in with the lowest of expectations. Turns out, my assumptions were way off; the shop has a beautiful aesthetic with thoughtfully curated clothing that captures the L.A. cool vibe that I remember well when I lived there. The clothes are priced appropriately for their quality, to be sure. They are not expensive per se, but you are getting top notch quality for the money. A sweatshirt may be $200 bucks but it is likely the softest one you'll ever own. I loved how the clothes had such a luxe, soft touch to them. There were some summery white clothes that were chic but I don't know how you could wear underwear underneath them that doesn't show, but that's not my concern. I was greeted when I walked in, checked on while shopping in a friendly way, and not stalked which I also appreciated. I ventured upstairs to the home goods department (I think she said) and found lots of mystical items and books that I was fascinated with. I don't hold any beliefs on tarot, astrology and the like, but I found this display charming and I picked up a few 'starter kits' just for fun. Checkout was pleasant and my purchases were wrapped in tissue and placed in a lovely bag. After my visit I scanned through some of the Yelp reviews and was surprised to see someone complaining about the customer service or that they had to ask for a bag or whatever. And that they didn't know you could only exchange for a store credit - Girl, there is a sign right there next to the payment machine. I'll be back for sure and would highly recommend Blonde to all blondes, brunettes, redheads and ravenhaired.

And right on El Paseo! Well, done! It was my very first trip to this area and as fate would have it, I parked right in front of this store. Well, maybe it had more to do with my love of the color blue and daisies so the sign spoke to me, but call it what you will, I scored a spot out front and walked right in. As you enter there is a large oval table adorned with purses, wallets, and fashion jewelry like beaded bracelets, tassel necklaces and fun dangly earrings. The walls were lined with racks of on trend clothing of all types. Maxi dresses, subtle camo and leopard print athlesure wear, tunics, jeans, soft sweaters and even jumpsuits. Yep, this store speaks my language. Since it was the very first shop I stopped in, I gave it a thorough walk through and figured I'd hit up the other shops to see what was available, and come back for my must haves. I fell in love with a Stella McCartney look alike wallet and meant to purchase it, but by the end of the day I had to rush out to make my evening plans and never went back in. Later that night I went to their website, and although they sell some items online, the wallet wasn't one of them. I may call the shop next week and see if there is anyway they sell it to me over the oh one could mail it to me. Lesson learned. And this is exactly why my philosophy has always been, if you see something you love, don't hesitate, buy it! Especially when you are in a different state from where you live! The young lady working there was really sweet. She answered all of my questions and also let me browse at my leisure with no pressure. She made sure to point out the sale rack in the back of the store and their were a lot of great items there. Truly this is a great shop filled with lots of very pretty and fashionable clothing, whether you need basics, casual chic or dressy, you can find it here.

It was not exactly me, but, I did appreciate the aesthetic. Really chic and laid back cool. I liked a pair of faded Levi's jeans for around $250 (?) but just didn't want them enough to try them on. The clothing, textiles, handbags, shoes and accessories are all in soft neutral colors, many with texture to give them that next level appeal. Think creams, oatmeal, blush, tan, camel, gray, black - it's all so soothing and easy to mix and match to create outfits that are both easy to wear and polished. My favorite item was the handbags! They are displayed in the window and they are the reason I walked in. They didn't disappoint! Designed and made by Oliveve, the leather is scrumptious! I had to look them up online and when their website mentioned they source their leather from Italy and the US, it made sense. There is something about Italian leather that speaks to me! Manufactured outside of NYC, the designs are classic yet unique, and a great addition to anyone's wardrobe. I'm now following them on Instagram. Also loved the pillows and throws! Neutral in color, they had so much texture and pattern they would make an elegant statement in any room while also being functional. The young lady that was working that day, Katelyn I believe, was super helpful and friendly. I like when you can browse at your leisure but have the option of assistance when needed.
