Beautiful on the inside. Their rendition of milk tea uses a tea called golden tea instead of black tea. It is waaaaaaaay weaker and has zero tea taste. Their milk tea drink is literally sweetness and nothing more. The boba was not cooked all the way through yet it was sticking together and thick. You know, when you are so used to having many choices of boba tea houses down the hill, it makes you very particular and very judgmental to small boba cafe's here in the high desert. We ordered a Thai Tea Smoothie and Matcha Green Tea Smoothie. Sadly to say, neither one came close to true flavors or the proper consistency of the smoothie. After lunch treat in Victorville ... My cousin and I had sushi for lunch and decided to check out a boba shop at the end of the same building as the sushi restaurant. Sakura Boba Cafe happened to have recently opened! The owner was very cheerful, helpful, efficient, and enthusiastic! We both ordered a Thai iced milk tea with boba...it very refreshing, not too sweet, and satisfying with chewy boba! This is a convenient treat since the shared lot has free parking! Think this is the only Boba place up here and if it isn't, there's no need to go anywhere else anyway. The place is gorgeous and clean on the inside. Staff is always friendly and amazing. I have been extremely spoiled with all the boba shops (within walking distance from one another) popping up in the SGV. This is definitely a phenomenon that is not happening in Victorville. I was craving boba on an extremely hot day and unfortunately the selections in the area were very slim. Seems like most of the shops specialize in smoothies and blended drinks rather than tea. Saw that Sakura Boba Café had recently opened and was within walking distance of our restaurant, so we made a quick stop for a drink. The reviews sounded promising and it seemed like they also offered a variety of tea options. They do have a number of slushes and smoothies, but they also offer different flavors of milk tea with boba. I ended up going with an almond milk tea ($4.75) and paid an additional $0.50 for boba. The drink was made fairly quickly, but the colors of the drink were a little off-putting. It seemed like there was a darker shade of brown mixed with the lighter milk in the cup, which isn't typical of a normal almond milk tea. Decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and tried out the drink. Unfortunately the drink had no almond flavor whatsoever. It didn't even taste like milk tea with almond syrup. It tasted like a watered down coffee that had a bit of a medicinal flavoring to it. The only redeeming feature about the drink was the boba - that was cooked perfectly. Although it didn't have the honey flavoring, it was chewy and firm, which I appreciated. I did ask them about the drink and whether there was a mistake in the flavoring, but the worker who made it said she had used almond syrup. So with every sip, it just tasted bitter and flavorless (no hints of milk or tea or almond) - ultimately we ended up throwing away most of the drink because it didn't resemble anything that would be drinkable. Décor of the boba shop is pretty cute - several tables for customers to wait for their drinks. I really wanted to like the boba here; unfortunately, I just couldn't get past how undrinkable the almond milk tea was. Will be steering clear of boba in this area for quite some time. read more

Been to this boba place more than a couple of times. Workers are very friendly and helpful. As for their boba drinks I'm not sure if it's worth it. So far I've tried their matcha milk tea, golden milk tea, and brown sugar milk tea. If there was one thing I'd ever come back for it would be the matcha milk tea. It taste like matcha Kit Kat. It's very good but it's a bit too sweet. Although I'm not sure if you can adjust the sugar levels like the boba shops down the hill. As for the golden milk tea and the brown sugar milk tea they both taste the same. Both have a coffee after taste which I'm not too fond of. They're also not creamy as I would like. It taste like powder mixed with water. Sometimes the teas can be bland. I've tried many milk tea and brown sugar milk tea all over the Asian cities but Sakura boba just can't compare. This place is more about aesthetic than the taste of their drinks. So if you want an instagram-able photo this place is perfect. I've also tried their macaroons and they're not bad. I believe they're $2.25 per macaron but I'm not too sure. As a boba place for the desert it's not bad but it's also not quite to my liking. I've been here quite a few times and it's been hit or miss, and even when it's good, it's inconsistent. My partner likes the strawberry chocolate milk tea, it's good enough even with the inconsistencies. Most of the time their milk tea is super milky, less tea flavor, and has barely any flavoring. The boba is usually okay. Example of inconsistencies, I've tried their Thai tea four times: 1st super tea flavor, no sweetness, 2nd super milky, no sweetness, 3rd I asked for more sweet, came out super milky and super sweet, 4th I asked for just a little bit more sweet and I don't know what happened but it tasted like dirty dishwater. There was something very wrong with it. I asked to exchange it for something else because I didn't want to risk having them remake it and it still be bad. However, they don't do free exchanges so that was extremely disappointing. The Thai tea was undrinkable. I ended up buying rose milk tea instead. Which again, tasted differently from the previous two rose milk teas I've had from them. Better than dishwater though. read more

While on our way to Vegas from LA, my boyfriend and I stopped off at this establishment to get a boba for the trip. I ordered a pomegranate tea boba and my boyfriend ordered a passion fruit tea boba. Both tasted extremely syrupy and chemically, as if the bottle used for flavoring was expired or not mixed properly. My first sip contained some kind of congealed/gelatinous blob that was stuck in my straw. The sweet, artificial flavor, was so pungent I almost spit it out. The boba was tiny, sparse and firmer than I would have liked, as if it hadn't be boiled long enough. The cafe itself was nicely decorated, had plenty of parking, and smelt of sanitizer (which doesn't smell nice, but I do like knowing they take cleaning seriously). Asides that, the boba is fresh and chewy, and the restaurant is very clean, very Spartan due to the bare walls but I anticipate that down the line more decorations will be put up. I shouldn't have given this place another try. The cashier was nice but made the drinks very incorrectly. They are not drinkable and the boba is super hard, under cooked jelly and strangely flavorless. The drinks are supposed to be the tropical Hawaiian (coconut etc) but she put old bananas and it tasted ONLY of old bananas, with inedible jelly boba.
