In my life (my entire life) I've found two waxing places that I love, hands down--Sweet Peach in Atlanta and Haven in SoHo in NYC. Whenever I'm in town those are the first places I run to. That was until now--neither one of them can hold a candle to Sal Terrae in DC! I had such an amazing experience and here's why: It's a beautiful studio, and you feel like you are at a spa. The lighting is nice, great relaxing music, and it smells wonderful. Lana is so knowledgeable and is a master waxer. It's not one of many things she does, this is *the* thing that she does--and well. Run, don't walk to come here! First of all, the space is so warm and inviting (and smells amazing!), while being conveniently located steps away from the l'enfant metro. I visited Sal Terrae for a Brazilian, along with eyebrow & lip wax. Lana does such a good job of making you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire process. The wax she uses is so gentle, and left my skin feeling smooth and much less red/irritated than normal. The small touches that she adds (using essential oils with the mind/body Brazilian) really make the experience feel so special.
