I am so glad this place exists in the AV! I love thai food and have lived in thailand myself so I am highly critical of thai food and I have to say, this place exceeded my expectations! Beef pad thai - the noodles were soft and perfectly portioned. The beef was fresh and not rough like other places. So good! Papaya salad- i absolutely love the thin shredded papaya. This is authentic som yum and the spice was actually spicy for 5/10! Chicken larb- chicken larb could have used more seasoning and the meat minced more but it was absolutely delicious with a side of sticky rice. Service - they take your order quickly and there is not a long wait. No one was rude nor overly friendly. I can't wait to go back and try their other items! read more

Been here a few times, Food is ok but the service is consistently bad. Especially lately. I would have considered coming back but not after tonight. Server brought 1 water out though there were more of us at the table, she Dropped food off without ever coming back to check to see what else we might need, and to top it off she tipped herself 18% at the register. When confronted she said that I had put the tip in. When all I did was tap my phone. I hate being lied to, to my face. I can't recommend this place and will never be back. read more

Understood food and eating out at restaurants are expensive of recent , but they have been serving their entrees in a square plate unlike the heaping oval platter .Now a plate of fried rice or noodles can barely feed 2 . You still go home hungry . read more

Not sure if they've changed management or not but tried to order cranberry surprise out of cranberry, tried to order mango rice out of mango, weird vibe from the lady that doesn't smile makes you feel like you're bothering her. I kept my receipt in case they want to say I didn't pay and put it on AV scanner like seriously that's how I felt. I have my receipt when usually I would've thrown it away. I could be wrong but that's how she made me feel like lady I've been coming here for years this thirty five dollars and five cents ain't breaking me. The young guy who brought food out was way more hospitable. The food was good which is why they have been in business for so long but maybe smile. I've been to many Thai restaurants but this one is a gem! I always order the steamed fish with lemon grass, and the fried whole fish with mango chutney. So fresh and cooked perfectly! I've noticed they did change management or certain items on the menu, so I can't get a fresh coconut or the mango sticky rice like they used to have! If they brought certain items back, it'd definitely be a 5/5 read more

My boyfriend and I LOVE this restaurant. We both live in LA now and drive to the AV as often as we can just for salatip. We've tried every Thai restaurant in our area and nothing compares to the taste of salatip. Their angel wings are crispy and flavorful, their combination rice is to die for, and their pad Thai is the perfect flavor combination. Their meat is cooked to perfection, velvety, tasty, and never overcooked. In the cold weather, the egg drop soup is our go to. I should have listen to the reviewes , stopped by on Wed 11th around 6pm. My wife, 3 year old son and i waited in the front for about 15 mins to be seated as no one was in the front. once we sat down had to wait another 15 mins to get drinks, menu and to order. Once we order it took approx 30 mins to get our food and they brought 1 of our meals about 10 mins after the first meal was brought out. I ordered the #31 chicken and basil it was more chicken with onions as it had lots of onions and all the food was bland. i tried to keep an open mind but sadly this place dissapointed us ! cant belive it took them over an hour to serve us! and it wasnt like this place was full maybe about 7 people. read more

I ordered from post mates and was missing an item. I called this business to let them know and the person who answered said "Salatip we are closed" then hung up on me. How rude!! I called back again and had to yell so he would not hang up on me. He was rude and did not believe me and then I also told him there was a hair on my mango sticky rice (which was not even sweet) and he didn't care. There was no resolution to any of my problems today. I do not recommend this place and it was my first time ordering from here. Had he been nice, I would have said, thanks and moved on. Best Thai food when I'm visiting the area. Sometimes you visit restaurants enough and the taste and quality isn't consistent but here it is only a couple times it hasn't been consistent. This review is ONLY for Sam's amazing customer service. We were a party 9 and the last ones in the restaurant. The waitress who was initially the one "serving us" was talking to another customer having us wait to even order our drinks. She constantly had an attitude even after the food was served she not once came to check on us if we needed anything. Sam, on the other hand, was working on cleaning up the restaurant and still took the time to see if we needed anything else or refills on our drinks. First time here as I was having a lunch meeting with a physician and they chose this restaurant for me to order some Thai food. I got the spicy shrimp fried rice and pad thai and both were SO GOOD!! My favorite dishes here are larb chicken, bamboo shoot green bean beef, wonton soup. I m glad they are near us and have good food so I don't have to think much what to order. A bit surprised that they have low rating for the yummy food they offer. 6/30/19 Today is going to an unfortunate day for this restaurant....in the past we've always had great service and great food. Today both of those were lacking. Our table service was horrible.. we had long waiting times and the food came out sporadically so neither myself, my husband or our son actually got to eat at the same time. We ended sharing our dishes with our son because they were taking so long to make food. Then our son's order was incorrect as well! When it did finally come out it was awful. Not one single employee was attentive or even polite. The younger man who was our server could barely be bothered to stop by our table even when we tried to get his attention. Then when I asked him for the chilies so I could add some to my soup he bluntly commented that he'd have to see if any were available because they were busy. They weren't busy. When he did come back it was to plunk the chilies on the table and walk off. Our soups were done so it was too late. The older man working today greeted young people but refused to even acknowledge my husband and it was extremely rude and disrespectful that he handed me the check while ignoring my husband. At the cashier register I took the car keys and walked out. The guy still didn't speak or make eye contact. My guess is he may have a felony record or something bad. I hope the people who are working here start stepping up and pay attention to what's happening and retrain their employees. Sadly, it's needed. My review from a few years ago can now be voided. It's going to be a while before I come back here. Fingers crossed! This review was given years ago and after today I feel differently. Not sure if I can forgive today's poor behavior by the staff. Absolutely delicious Thai food! Hubby and I have been coming here for lunch for over 15 years now and will continue coming back for years to come! I don't know what is going on with this place lately. I had takeout. My wife's fried rice was bland at best. My order was supposed to be chicken and shrimp with pineapple. A dish I have had many times. When I got home and opened it, it was chicken and pineapple rice. No shrimp and certainly not the sauce it should have cone with.
