As always, the crew arrived on time and the work was done exactly as promised. We met with Kevin to discuss the tasks (cleaning yard; trimming trees and shrubs; weeding and moving plants; etc.). Sometimes Kevin has had a crew of 6 or 8; this year, it was three. The work was done by Kevin's nephew John plus Juanito and Benito. All worked diligently, taking only a short lunch break. As always, they listened to our requests and accommodated our wishes. John, when appropriate, offered helpful advice about possible options; he was consistently friendly and considerate and it was a pleasure to have his help. Years ago, we had used two other companies but were not satisfied. (One even had a worker who fell fast asleep in our yard after drinking at lunch!) For the past two years I was watering my lawn all the time, sometimes twice a day during Summer and whenever we vacationed or left home for a week I was always worried about the lawn dying and all the effort it would take to regrow. It started to become a chore rather than something enjoyable. We finally decided to get a Sprinkler System installed and so glad we found Jon. Communication was great right away with super fast replies on Yelp and I believe Jon even came the next day for an estimate. He finished the sprinkler system in less than a week which is what he quoted with excellent attention to detail and a very honest price. The complexity was we were doing concrete work at the time so there were two contractors at our house at the same time. He set me up with a 3 zone system, the front area is exposed to a lot of sun and I always struggled with keeping things growing there. The cool thing is the Rachio system he installed automatically chooses ideal times to water based on daily weather reports. You can see the "after" pictures which show my lawn is still nice and green despite the heat and now I get to water for pleasure instead of doing it as a task! Our yard was a MESS and in desperate need of an overhaul. We had ivy and a tree stump that needed to go. We wanted to go with a more drought resistant yard and Luis delivered! Luis let us know he could complete the work by the end of July. Not only did he come sooner than promised, he completed the job in one day, and in under four hours. In addition to the amazing communication, SUPER efficient work he did more than he quoted us for - he removed the tree stump. I cannot say enough good things about Luis and his team. I followed up the next day to reschedule and did not receive any response. I later noticed a prior review describing a very similar experience where an estimate was scheduled and the contractor did not show or follow up. Based on my experience, this appears to be a pattern. Communication and reliability are important, especially just for an estimate. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience.
