I wish I had stayed seeing him. Dr Tak saw me and I took her advice but after being referred out, I should not have return to see her. Her demeanor and attitude toward me changed and got frustrated. I sent a message explaining my situation and concerns and no one has cared to respond to me. After investing time and money (out of pocket pay) I'm greatly disappointed. They could hire a friendly face at the front desk. Whenever I had Mary, she was cold and unwelcoming to me. And that happened each time I encountered her.

What sets him apart is his ability to balance naturopathic and allopathic approaches in a way that's truly tailored to you as an individual. Working with him has been a genuinely positive experience, and I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for a thoughtful, dedicated practitioner who takes your whole health seriously.

Then reporting it to owner and she states services were still rendered so payment is still required. Then having to repost this review 66 separate times because the doctor is trying to hide what happened. The next step is going to the Oregon Board of Natropathic Medicine to maybe get some justice? I work full time, just started a full time Masters program, still dealing with extreme fatigue which was the main reason for my visit and I'm STILL trying to get some kind of resolution. I thought Taxman was a good doctor but he was horrible, self flattering, snide, and indifferent in helping me. I'm still flabbergasted because I thought I was choosing a good doctor who could guide me to other good doctors and give me advice. I did not get that at all. He could have rescheduled me with someone else if he knew he wasn't going to help me. People get away with things because they rely on others being quiet about it and I won't be silenced. Here are some more details I initially left out of the below review because Taxman seemed confused. While I was having a panic attack he held up his wedding ring hand in front of him and waved his hand around showcasing his ring-- I'm not sure why he thought that was appropriate? What does his relationship status have to do with my appointment? Is this standard for all his appointments? He seemed confused, I told him while in the middle of a panic attack I'm not here to date you??? I'll continue to repost this until the end of time, no patient should have to deal with this and then pay $800/hour My appointment with Dr.Taxman was incredibly disappointing. I had a small panic attack at the beginning of the appointment, when I recovered I looked up and his head was tilted down and eyes looking up glaring at me... he looked angry? We just sat there and stared at eachother for maybe 60 seconds until I broke off the stare off. It was scary, bizarre, and cruel. I was as mostly looking down with my eyes closed during this panic attack, so this came out of no where. Nothing warrants that response from a doctor. I still asked about my issues, I have year round allergies I asked about and he shrugged and mentioned one drug, that was it. We went over two prescriptions I have, he said wow that's a high dosage when referring to my antidepressant, he did not elaborate. There was a knot on my throat he said he would be willing to see through till the end-- I'm OK, I'll go to another doctor. It's clear he didn't want me in the appointment and he had an attitude the majority of the time. He rolled his eyes twice while I was talking. I read glowing reviews from other patients who he's helped with similar issues before booking. There were STILL several other issues but I'll leave it at that, he seemed confused by the purpose of the visit. I overestimated his abilities as a professional and as a doctor. Taxman has weak character and questionable moral compass if this is how he treats people/patients. Edit: I went to a real doctor and turns out my insomnia/extreme fatigue is from perimenopause, started HRT and my sleep has improved immensely. I didn't expect Taxman to know that necessarily but his suggestion for my sleep issues was that I was bored... and to stop taking day naps... Since I experience extreme anxiety and panic attacks I'm looking into options to help me, not here though. Since I said I was going to report my experience with Taxman to the Oregon Board of Natropathic Medicine because Dr Harding and Annie Grossarth weren't doing anything to help me they cancelled my Cymbolta appointment and said this wasnt a good fit FOR ME lol. They made that choice FOR ME... yikes. So if a doctor does anything similar to you and you report it you'll probably be denied access to healthcare here... yikesssss. Yes this is also being reported to the Oregon Board of Natropathic Medicine too, I'm shocked that any of this is legal. I'd have to talk to more people to figure out legality in Oregon. How many other patients have had similar issues here and they couldn't defend themselves. Try giving patients kindness and dignity, get some ethics training as an organization. Anyways, this place is a JOKE

As I walked in, I noticed how clean and tidy the clinic space is, very earthy, designed to make you feel comfortable. I sat down and filled out my intake form, which is very thorough. Then Sequoia guided me to the treatment room, I was offered a choice of tea and essential oil, I chose eucalyptus! Love eucalyptus, he let me know he's getting a diffuser soon, but for now he incorporated the essential oil into the treatment. After I sat down, he took my pulse and asked a few questions to clarify my responses on the intake form. And inquired any areas of concern I had, I said 'hormonal acne, left side of my neck is tight and right erector muscle' Then he left the room, I undressed to my level of comfort (I'm a massage therapist, so I'm super comfortable in this setting), placed my jewelry in the bowl provided and got on the massage table, under the flat sheet. During the treatment I was gently mesmerized by the music and felt a release in my left levator scapulae ( back neck muscle) as he needled it. He addressed my other concerns too and responded with a thorough answer when I asked what a certain point was for, or when I asked for the music to be a bit quieter he happily obliged. By the end I was drifting in parasympathetic mode aka 'rest and digest'. Very calm and peaceful place for your nervous system to switch into to heal and realign itself. Important, delicious and so necessary! Love when I come away from a treatment feeling this way. I will definitely be going back for regular treatments with Sequoia, he was awesome!

Really great experience! Highly recommend…read more I've had serious sleep issues for as long as I can remember, and felt as if I had tried everything over the years. A smart and lovely local friend recommended Dr. Samantha and from our very first meeting I knew I was in exactly the right place to begin my next chapter of healing. Not only is Dr. Samantha a terrific person to talk to about anything and everything, (I've had quite a few therapists over the years and I would rate Dr. Samantha as 'outstanding'), she really knows her stuff when it comes to naturopathic medicine. I am receiving exactly the help I need, and my sleep, along with many other aspects of my life, is steadily improving :) Everyone who works at this friendly, cozy office is kind and helpful. Angela always greets me with a smile and does a great job coordinating appointments. Kati gives a really wonderful Healing Massage that I would recommend to anyone. Bevin works with LENS therapy (Low Energy Neurofeedback System therapy helps restore brain wave balance helping to alleviate many post-trauma symptoms and is approved by the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA).) I have had 3 sessions so far and there's no question that the different methods of care I am receiving at Deep Roots are contributing to my improved sense of overall happiness, as well as the quality and quantity of my sleep. Last but certainly not least, I have had 2 sessions with Dr. Luke, who comes so highly recommended for helping unlock emotional trauma we have all hidden away for a lifetime (but takes its toll when allowed to linger within.). So far I'm very impressed and look forward to my next appointment with him. I really can't say enough positive things about this lovely team of people who work so well together for the purpose of healing others. In my opinion, every child or adult who walks in the doors of Deep Roots Family Medicine has walked into a safe and caring environment and will only be better off for the experience. Whether you choose one therapist or several you will enjoy your journey :)

I was referred to this office by a current patient of theirs. We work at the same place so I know they take my insurance. They directed me to their website to fill in "new patient" forms. Which I did and over two weeks later they call to say they've "declined" me as a new patient. No explanation as to why when I asked. I called a few times checking up on this and they kept saying to give it another day or so and I was completely understanding of this. But to finally call me back after more than two weeks with "I don't know why the doctor has decided this" as an explanation is infuriating. I was really interested in this office because they didn't seem like the status quo. The idea of having a mental health department was absolutely a plus. I've been trying to find a therapist I really felt comfortable with for a few years. This would have been ideal so the care providers could bounce off each other as to how I should proceed in regards to meds. So needless to say I'm beyond annoyed and now I have to start from scratch yet again.

My only reason for not giving this place 5 stars is because of their treatment of trans patients. If you're going to have LGBT friendly stickers outside of your building, I think you should make an effort to deadname and misgender patients as little as possible. It makes the overall experience, even if it was good in nature, exhausting. Don't claim you're a safe space if you aren't going to put in the effort to BE a safe space.
