I wasn't blown away by the quality or the price of the pizza. I think this place is catered to the W&L students, as it can be pricey.

This is the best pizza and beer place in town! We have lived in Lexington for 2 years and are so glad we found this gem! Not only great for pizza and beer but kids too! Have eaten at Salerno's many times. The pizza is tasty, the apps are delicious, and the beer selection is awesome. Have eaten there before the renovation and after. The beer wall had a few tweaks to work out, but they fixed them. The always have great live music on the weekends! read more

The newer renovations are nice, and have really modernized the place, but honestly, in comparison to the "old" Salerno's, it's definitely gone downhill. Waitstaff was very kind and helpful, but food was just not any good - the pizza was nowhere as good as it used to be, and did not taste like homemade brick oven pizza - it was thin, tasteless and too greasy. The salad description boasted "fresh" mozzarella, but it was obviously pre-shredded stuff out of the bag. This place has become a bar, through and through, and is no longer family friendly. They should change the name, because it is no longer Salerno's. If you're looking for a place to watch the game and have a drink, come here, but it is not somewhere you would want to bring your family, despite the arcade downstairs (which was not being used while we where there on a Friday night). Also - this place is no longer ADA compliant. The only way in is by climbing the outside patio stairs, and if you were in a wheelchair or on crutches, it would be difficult to enter the building. read more

I so wish I could give zero stars. We were down for my daughter's college weekend. Took our whole family there at 6:30 on Saturday night. I totally get a long wait- I don't get them NOT informing us that it would be 30 minutes before a server even saw us. Then after waiting one hour for garlic bread- my wife and I talked to the manager- Danielle. Her answer "yeah it's just really crowded." When we asked if there would be any discount she smirked and laughed "yeah I don't think so- everyone is in the same boat." Apparently she thinks this is the way to treat a customer. No apology- no attempt to accommodate us. I asked her "so since you are taking twice as long, it's ok if we pay half the bill, right?" Her smirk dropped and she just glared at me. I said "I guess we'll just leave" and she said "ok." I'm told the manager is named Jason but he could not be reached. If Jason offers some kind of apology on Danielle's/restaurant's behalf I'll change this review. Worst customer experience I've ever had! read more

Meh. Pizza and Chicken Parm were fine. Turkey sandwich not worth the $11 price. Servers were really nice but service was terrible. If you're a beer person I'm guessing the self-pour is good, but we're not so can't speak to it. read more

Love the beer wall. Everything we have ordered has been good. Friendly and quick service. It's become our go-to place in Lexington.

I came on a busy Friday night. At the time I sat at the bar, there were plenty of people to help me, but I ended up waiting several minutes just to get someone to acknowledge that I was there. The beer was outrageously priced, and they have set up a lazy system where you have to pour your own beer by using a card. I'm not offering a tip to serve myself. I can't speak for the food, but the experience was very underwhelming. It should not take this long to get service at a bar and to get a beer. You can get better service and a beer for half the price anywhere else in town. read more

I like the look of the renovation, and the new beer wall is really cool. Unfortunately, however, the service is terrible. The beer wall is self-serve, but you have to give them a credit card first. This place is never open. Their hours are inconsistent. They close for no reason, for weeks at a time, and they refuse to answer the phone when they are open. I repeat, they will not answer the phone. We went up to see if they were open despite no one answering the phone, and lo and behold, they were open. They do make amazing Italian subs though so I will add one star every time i successfully order takeout. read more

I was excited to try the new wood fire pizzas. I waited about 15 minutes for someone to take my payment (placed a phone order)...as I watched a multitude of people pass over without even eye contact. The pizza was sub-par unfortunately...which is how they were 5 years ago. Not seeing the value in the wood-fired oven. I see others have had issues with service as well. Fix it guys. read more

One of the draws is the 'serve yourself beer taps' with a huge selection of beers. They finally got a good broad selection including some very good IPAs. They give each person a card to hold against the machine while pouring. The pizza if fair to middling. The crust is much better than average and the toppings are good. Some of their servings have too much salt, which, sadly, seems to becoming more of the norm than the exception. They had some hiccups with the new setup, and the slow service is not usually as bad as it was. Our biggest beef is that it is way too loud upstairs. The floor and ceiling are reflective. And they insist on having live entertainment most nights. People come to enjoy each other and the music is pretty good, but the combination of amplified music and a reflective room makes conversation nearly impossible. We leave hoarse from yelling. They have opened up their downstairs room to larger parties which is a nice overflow area. And warmer weather, there is limited seating outside near the entry and out back. we came here for subs & the bon fire dessert pizza. i tried ordering from my phone but it wasnt ideal so i called & got a recording which prompted to leave a message which had a full mailbox. so i went to place an order in person. the staff was super friendly & seemed to have mixed clientele in an appealing atmosphere. but apparently the meat slicing machine was in need of repair so most of our order needed to be changed. everyone was pleased with their meal & the smores pizza was quite delish!!!!! will return when in town again. read more

Awesome place for a pie! Pizza was on point and the pour my own beer system is a creative way to try a number of craft beers without having to purchase an entire 16oz like at your typical bar or restaurant. Thirty taps on site, the most around that I have found. My husband ordered the cheesesteak! Better than what we've had in Philly! Love the industrial vibe and garage doors also! Seems like it would be a great place great atmosphere. Yet when we went to eat. Even with Covid restrictions and limited seating the place wasn't that busy. We didn't wait for a table, our order was taken and drinks brought to the table. Then we were pretty much forgotten about. Long story short and over two hours later we paid for the drinks and left. Never got our food was finally told kitchen was backed up. Still doesn't explain why 3 tables that arrived after us got there food, ate and had left. When asking for the check we were asked if we wanted our pizzas to go... I said No but asked if they were done was told they didn't know. We won't be going back and we are locals. read more

Went in on 10/5 around 1:30pm to get food and a drink with my mom. Poured a bud light for her and we both noticed the color and taste was off. Asked our waitress to double check the kegs we're hooked up correctly (they were). After our meal, my mom asked me to pour another glass of bud light for her. I checked the glasses because I noticed one of the tasters I had had lipstick left on it from a person before (didn't say anything because I didn't want it to seem like I was trying to find something wrong with everything). As I'm pouring the beer I see Mgo into the glass. I immediately told our server and she showed it to a manger. I asked the server if they knew how/did clean their own draft lines. She said they did not. Draft lines should be cleaned biweekly and in between different beer hookups! They comped our beer and said it was because an outside company cleans their lines. I'm still upset 2 days later because it MADE MY MOTHER SICK! We told them it did NOT taste correct and then mold! I feel bad writing a review like this but this is not acceptable for the beer community or restaurant community. It was not our servers fault because the food and service was flawless but seriously MOLD?! Will never be back. They could have seriously killed someone by negligence. read more

We ordered 3 pizzas for takeout. We got the sauced, bbq pizza and a plain cheese. All were delicious. Would definitely recommend this place though maybe not for someone in a rush. It took a 40 minutes for them to finish, but the food was great and pizzas are a good size. read more

Love the new and improved Salernos. The 30 tap beer wall is a cool new way to taste new beers and it's a pour your own system. Different size glasses for tasting..The pizza is now wood fired and the taste is absolutely amazing. Staff is friendly,informative and attentive. Just opened recently is the arcade room with lots of "old" arcade games that are pretty awesome to play. Definitely recommend stopping by and trying a pour your own beer and pizza while playing arcade games.. read more

First time back since the renovation, I am in love with the pay-by-the-oz beer wall. Great bbq wings, handmade mozzarella sticks, and I had a great Calzone. My wife ordered the chicken vodka penne, which was not so great, chicken tasted good, but the pasta was not the best and the pasta sauce was a clear miss; but our server was very friendly and happy to take it off the check. This place has the best Italian food!! If you don't get the doughnuts for dessert you are missing out!! Don't just get the sugar covered ones but also get the cinnamon ones. The renovation is nice and the beer wall is cool. As a college student, I don't like being treated as hostile by the host staff. The group of four of us were identified twice and treated very poorly by the staff members. A manager came and his attitude was not what I'm paying for when going out to It's appalling that the staff had such terse attitudes and is not the southern hospitality we would expect. The arcade, while it's a nice touch, is chock full of broken machines, more broken than working. Overall the food was good and the renovation looks great, but the staff really need to learn what hospitality means. read more

I went in and placed a to go order for a pizza. Yes they were getting busy, however after ordering and paying including a credit card tip I waited 40 minutes and then left because it wasnt ready, so ran a few errands and returned 20 minutes later to find that my order still was not ready. I noticed people who had cane in and ate as i had arrived earlier were leaving. I asked 30 min later if it was about ready and cashier admitted it hadnt been started yet. I wasted 90 minutes for nothing. I asked for a refund . She gave me my change minus the tip. I told her to keep the tip and left. I am local but not going to bother them with my business again. They are more cordial to the upper crust customer. read more

Not impressed with either the service or the food here. We tried this place last week. Service was slow. They kept serving people seated after us. We had to remind our server to check on our food, and when the food finally was brought out, it was lukewarm to cold, probably been sitting there waiting to be served all this time. I hate the new sit down style here. I used to love coming by for a quick bite. Now it's a full day adventure. The service is super slow and they only have one oven so the wait for food is ridiculous. Placed an order on their website for delivery. After over an hour, I finally called and no one answered. I had to call four times, letting the phone ring dozens of times (they picked it up and hung it up one time without saying anything) before I got anyone to answer. A clueless waitress put me on the phone with the rudest manager I have ever spoken with and they had NO idea an order was even placed. Then she tried to blame me saying "they don't hardly even do delivery" because they don't have a driver. She clearly missed the point that it wouldn't matter if we had selected the pick-up option if the website isn't notifying them of orders anyway. Duh. Anyway, I told her they might want to take delivery off their website and she copped a huge attitude/tone with me and advised me she doesn't have anything to do with that and the owner does. That may be true but perhaps a better tact would have been to apologize and politely offer to convey that to the manager. In fact, she didn't apologize at all for any of this. When I asked for my money to be refunded, she said the owner would take care of that. I said how if he doesn't know who I am or my contact info? I asked for my name and number to be provided to the owner and that got yet some more annoyed huffs out of her. So it is 9:18 and this family is going to bed without dinner because we are just too darn tired to even care about trying to eat at this point. Will wait to see if I get my $50 back or not but at the moment, I basically paid good money to go without dinner and get treated like it is my fault for putting in an order. I read a lot of bad yelp reviews but I was really trying to support a small local business and overlooked the reviews. That was the one thing I did wrong and take responsibility for.
