There are a couple TV's, pool tables and a DJ/Dance area. They play music on the regular and will typically have a DJ on some weekends. It is 100% a locals type of spot as it is the only dedicated bar in Ripon. The bar staff are typically on point and serve you within a reasonable amount of time. Weekdays are definitely not a problem, but Friday and Saturday nights can be fairly busy. Here is what I found disgusting: if you find yourself to be the designated driver or a non-drinker, the soda gun or bar gun that dispenses the different sodas & water needs to be thoroughly cleaned or changed out. The soda and water taste like it was not just unfiltered, but as if the filter hasn't been changed out in ten years. To me, the water was not consumable at all. This not only tastes bad, but can get people sick also. Aside from that, if you're just looking to get a drink or two at a bar, The Inn will get it done.

Great people when you get to know some of them. Bartenders are great. Charlie runs the show most weekends. He's efficient and will talk anything from sports to politics with knowledge. The beautiful ladies Kelsey, Brandie and Ashley serve on other nights. Plus a couple more we don't know yet. We always get a nice welcome. There's a pool table and one of those plastic dart board things. For food, most nights an outside food service sets up facing the street (main st) and the Mexican food is as authentic as it gets. This bar was nothing near quiet and chill when we swung by. It was more of a frat basement vibe (which I actually found quiet endearing). This place is super tiny. When I came, all the chairs/furniture were pushed to the side to make room for a dance floor. The DJ played frat classics like 'Mo Bamba' and somehow created an energy where everyone was being perfectly carefree and dancing all over the place. Everyone was cramped up in the tiny dancefloor but still had enough room to move around and get to the bar. There was a pool table that was covered off to the side and some games lined up on the wall (to likely be used on a more casual and lowkey night). They had a bunch of security. They had guards at the entrance, by the DJ, and at the back door (that I think led to an outdoor patio). I overheard just how passionate the bartender was about taking care of the bands who come in to play. And it really showed. I caught a line up with Supernaut, Peace Pipe, and Dead Engine. All of them were amazing live, and the crowd was super supportive, too. So, between the heavy pours, friendly folx, and a great venue for live music...I found a new watering hole in Santa Cruz. It's been around forever, so I'm happy that some live music could put it on my radar. Next time, I'll bring a $1 bill to put on the ceiling.
