After getting 4 different quotes, we chose Northbay Fencing because they had the best price but also solid reviews. They were able to tear down the old fence and install the new one all in the same day, which really impressed us. The crew worked efficiently and left everything clean when they were done. We're very happy with how our new fence turned out and we highly recommend them.

I messaged this company through their website, but never heard back so I called them, Luis answered, and he was in my area, and stopped by within 15 minutes. I liked him, we chatted, I showed him my fence and he gave me two verbal numbers depending on much of the fence we decided to rebuild. He then said he's send me over the actual quote with a couple of pictures of options, so I could discuss with my neighbors. And then... nothing. I never got the quote or pictures. I send numerous text messages asking nicely for it. I called and left him a voicemail. I sent two emails through the website. Someone on Facebook who claims to know him well even supposedly messaged him on my behalf. Still zero reply. This person needs to go and take a simple course in client management. Why bother coming to my house, wasting my time if you 1) seemingly don't want to do the job and 2) can't even manage the decently a reply. I even point blank asked, if you don't want to do the job, at least just TELL me so I know. Zero reply to any attempts to make contact. I was going to hire them to do the job. All it would have taken was a REPLY to any of my attempts to contact them again. Maybe your luck will vary, but 1 star for this utter waste of time.

If you're looking for custom iron work, metal gates, or modern steel designs, I highly recommend IVS Iron Works. Thank you to the team for delivering such a great result!

Ignacio, who came for the site visit and identified himself as the owner, was very easy to communicate with both in person and over the phone. However, Jackie, (not clear to me if she's the co-owner or Ignacio's wife) finalizes pricing and pretty much runs the show. For our project, we had picked IVS to do the work, but the price kept increasing by thousands of dollars. I asked to speak with Ignacio since these changes were inconsistent with what I discussed with him and put them week above our other quotes, but Jackie said that's not necessary since she decides the pricing. They also charge tax on materials, which no other fencers do (since they're already paying tax to Home Depot, etc.). These business practices felt disingenuous to me and like bait and switch. I've had issues in the past with businesses like this that once the work begins they'll change order you again and ask for more money. So we did not use them. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range and IVS was around $12K. All were licensed and bonded. We went with the lowest quote and are extremely happy with our fence.

Jim is a true expert in this trade. He installed the motor, receiver, keypad, and all the components in a single day, and he didn't leave until every feature was tested and working perfectly. His professionalism and attention to detail really stood out. The entire team deserves credit: Josh (the owner) was the first person I connected with, Karen in scheduling made sure she secured the date on Jim's calendar, and Jim executed the installation with precision. I couldn't be happier with the result. If you need a reliable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy vendor for residential or commercial garage door openers, do yourself a favor and call Door Pros. Their name says it all and they truly deliver on their reputation.

Door Pros Garage Door Co…read more 2023 we purchased a very expensive wood garage door from Door Pros. Bobby was the salesmen in San Rafael. I should have ran once I met Bobby. The kind of guy that promises you the best in the world. Well when they delivered the door to install it the door was still wet from the stainer Door Pros had stain it. They swore it would be fine! Fast forward to 2026. I have had Door Pros out over 20 times to try and get the door properly working but every Tom, Dick, and Harry (smokers who smelled like a tobacco factory) they sent must have never been to garage door repair school. Joe the lead technician in the beginning told us the door needed to be taken off and sheetrock cut out so the door would run properly. The next Joe Schmoooo told us something different. So every guy that came out in 3 years had a different story. The last guy 2 months ago said it was installed wrong and he would have the owner call me next week but NEVER a call back. I even spoke with Josh the owner a few years ago and he said they would make it good. We finally said GOOD RIDDANCE to Door Pros. They aren't Pros at all. Just a company that gives a lot of talk and gives you no action. We called another company in SF and in once visit they told us Door Pros had installed the whole door wrong. Wrong springs, bend rails, etc. etc. The door after one visit works beautifully. So stay away from Door Pros. Listen to your gut. I wish I did as we wasted 3 years of our lives with that awful company. Too many photos to post but believe me I have them in a file of companies NOT TO USE.

Joe, Miguel, and team at Expert Gate Company have been great to work with. The scope of our project…read morewas in two parts: replace our driveway gate and make it powered, and then later replace the front fence and pedestrian gate, this time incorporating a built-in parcel box and security hardware. Expert Gate's craftsmanship is rock solid and we're really happy with the results. We live on a downslope hill with MANY utility lines underground to literally work around. It was a complicated project that required an entirely custom fabrication to follow the grade of the ground, with posts in really specific positions. We worked with Joe as our Project Manager, and throughout the process he was attentive and receptive to feedback, quote negotiations, and design requests along the way. There were 3 things that popped up over the duration of the project. We kept having issues with the gate operator that took longer than anyone wanted to deal with. It ended up being a series a faulty parts from Liftmaster, and nothing to do with the installation from these guys. Additionally, there were a couple of details that I wish were incorporated into the quotes, such as measurements and design mockups (we had to talk about a couple of things and make decisions in real time, which could have been mitigated if we had more specifics on the quote & planning process). Finally, the overarching project time for the front fence did take a little longer than expected. We had to have the front of the house in a bit of a construction state for a few weeks, but ultimately the end result is polished and very well executed, and we're happy with how everything turned out. Those minor issues aside, were still glad to have worked with EG and will gladly work with them in the future. Thanks again to Joe, Miguel, and the crew!

Update: found someone else who was able to fix everything without moving the posts at all. Insanity…read morethat I was going to let these guys swap out my aluminum posts for iron posts that wouldn't even match my gate. So I ask again, what are these guys experts at? Initial experience was bad. Sales guy came, was short with me, seems uninterested. Promised to give a quote. Waited 4 days. Didn't get a reply. I wrote a bad review and moved on. Owner contacted me asking me to remove the review and he can help me out with my gate job. I needed someone to help fix a botched gate install job so agreed. The job was to remove two existing posts and replace it with new steel posts. The price quoted for TWO posts were not cheap. He seems to think he's doing me favor for labor only but it was not cheap. It cost the same amount as the full job by the other company for the full install. I'm OK with it because at that point I wanted a job to be done by someone who knows how to do the work. Of course, I found out the reason they're expensive because they SUBCONTRACT to another company that specializes in gates. Are they the expert or is the subcontractor the expert? Nevertheless, I waited a week and a half for the scheduled date. The night before, he text me and ask if I have two steel posts that they need. They quoted me a very high amount to fix two posts but does not provide the materials for the fix. These guys are supposed to be experts in STEEL gates but do not have the materials for STEEL. So what are they experts in? Subcontracting? Reselling gate install service? What irritates me is that he sprung this on me at the last moment the day before. Our conversation was that the quoted price includes labor and materials to fix except for the extra materials that are needed that are ALUMINUM which I purchased. The fact that he asked me to provide STEEL materials at the last possible moment was maybe because (a) he misquoted me or (b) the subcontractors wanted more money to do the work. In any case, I cancelled the job. I cannot trust a company that bait and switch. If you misquote, then you own the difference, not spring it on your customer at the last moment.
