The reason given had nothing to do with medical safety or legality, but rather personal feelings. A pharmacy's role is to follow the law and ensure patients have access to their prescribed medications, not to let personal biases or emotions get in the way of patient care. This situation caused unnecessary stress and delay in my father receiving the medication he needs. Patients should be able to trust that their prescriptions will be filled as written by their doctors, especially when state law is clear on the matter. Walgreens needs to remember that pharmacy services are about patient health first, not personal disagreements.
