I love their color products from ION. They have a preconditioning and after conditioning treatment that makes your hair so soft. They also have a variety of other items that are reasonably priced. read more

I came here with the purpose of locating a specific product for my hair. Now I don't generally patronize Sally's because I don't think it is for WOC. On this day, I was right on. Despite the Sally's website showing that the item was in stock at this particular location, upon arrival the staff member told me they don't sell that brand at all in Sally's. Now what now? Why is it on your website? It wasn't the staff members fault. I had no other reason to be there than that. The store was clean and organized and the staff was cool. As soon as I walk in I'm scanned up and down by the cashiers a few times as if looking me over or sizing me up. They greet me and as soon as I walk past the shelf I hear whispering. Maybe I'm tripping but it's ironic I hear it right after they do all that. Now the store is tiny,but I feel as if I'm being followed by the cashier cause they kept telling me they're at the front if I need them. She kept bugging me so I asked her for a particular item,she bought me a few to see,I pretty much didn't get what I needed. I never find what I'm looking for,I don't frequent this particular store only cause it's so small they barely have anything. I don't like feeling like I'm being followed,especially in a store. One of the smaller Sally's locations I've ever shopped in so the selection can be somewhat limited. They do cram a lot of products onto the shelves, but I think they order the smallest possible amount of each; therefore if there is a sale on something you want, get there early in the sale or at least earlier in the day if you are going on a weekend. I've given up finding any hairpieces for my stick straight auburn hair...there is never anything for me in this section of the store. On the lat two trips to get hair color the products have been mixed up in the bins...I want the color I want and if I grab two from the same bin, I don't want to have to make sure it's the same color as the first one. The low quantity of a particular product and the mixing is dropping this 4 star review to a three. BTW: 5 stars for the customer service. read more

I was finishing up a lunch break Target run and decided to stop in this Sally for a product I've been looking for. When I walked in I immediately saw two associates sitting in the back (breakroom I assume), and one of the young ladies made eye contact with me. I looked, and waited, looked and waited, and NO ONE came out to greet, see if I needed assistance, etc. The two associates continued talking and after 5 minutes I walked out irritated. Definitely one of the worst examples of customer service I've experienced in a long time. read more

To all the "Sally Gurls" in the house let me hear you say aw yeah! I have to pay tribute to and for Sally's Beauty Supply (SBS) for being around for as long as "she" has. I've gone to many other 'beauty supply' stores but I've always been a loyal customer of SBS. It's a go-to one-stop shop to get everything I need from literally head to toe, and because I'm a DIYer, most of what I need is very basic but necessary...maintenance is maintenance. High or low whatever it takes. For ne, SBS has a variety and range of products for the "women of color," however some location's may be smaller than others so product availability may be limited. I like the fact you get coupons and they come in handy especially when I find myself needing or getting more than what I came for but that's a win-win situation for me. The associates are always pleasant, except this one chick I had an encounter at the SBS in Forestville, MD. That's a story within itself. Anyway, I was there this weekend to get some lashes, everything else I'm good for now. When the time comes to stock up again I'll be right back at SBS. buying my usual and a few new items from head-to-toe; exfoliating products for the face, hand/nails, and feet; hair color and relaxers, conditioners, tweezers and the list can go on, on, on and so on. So ladies or to all the "Sally Gurls" out there, wherever or whenever you buy your hair care and beauty products just stay on your mission to stay looking fabulous, and know that your part to looking fabulous is no doubt a credit to none other than SBS or that 'other' place. read more

I rarely go in Sally's but I really wanted some advice on what I could use to reduce frizz and get my hair straighter when blow drying. The employee who was there was rude and not helpful at all. She said there's a whole wall full of products here. at ulta at least the people have recommendations or general ideas of what seems to work for people or them in their experience. She just wasn't at all helpful to me or another lady who was looking for a good oil for her hair. On top of the service the selection was pretty limited. Won't be going back. read more

Sally's. This location in particular. Please hire employees that are actually knowledgeable about hair care and not just keeping their 30" weave together. I was there yesterday and the young ladies, very beautiful with their makeup and hair, barely knew anything about natural hair care. Maybe a job at ulta or Sephora would suit them. On top of that...they had their friends hanging out with them at the register. Annoying. read more

Real talk, they need to lose the light skinned woman with the light hair bc she is costing them sales!  I went in there on Sat & asked for blow dryer attachments.  She got up from her seat behind the register to escort me (which pleasantly surprised me) and took me to the area. As she went to walk away I asked "Do you also carry glycerin?" she said "what's that? " I replied "It's like a hair & skin protectant". She replied "I don't know what that is" shaking her head.  Noticing that they only had the cylinder blow dryer attachment I said "so you don't have the flat, lengthwise style that's on your website?" without even clarifying what I was asking she said "No that stuff is only available on the website.  You gotta order that stuff." I said,  "It said available in stores." As much as I was inclined to pop off and give attitude back, I was as kind as ever in this exchange (maybe a sort of repentance from a pop-off the previous weekend). This woman's snarky reply, pointing at the area as if I were a 2 year old "those are the attachments, that's all we have" swinging around to return to the register.  Just as I'm about to walk out disgusted,  I see what I'm looking for,  right there on the top shelf.  I grab it,  take it to her at the register & say "actually it's right here". The dumbfounded look on her face.... I don't even bother look for the glycerin, I'm so pissed.  I can't imagine how much money this disrespectful woman causes to walk out the door each day SMH. Sally's really needs to reconsider if she's worth it. read more

They're alright. Okay. Decent. Nothing extraordinary. The sales associate at this location is always depressed and doesn't appear to be in the mood, into the products...or into you for that matter. This place is better for stylist than for the average consumer. read more

I don't need to go into Sally's often but I really wanted this item I saw online that's only available here. So instead of ordering it directly from Amazon, I went into the store for multiples. The so-called manager (said her name was Jeanette but heard someone call her Tiff) was ringing me up and I was paying with cash. She started to give me back all these $1s and when I asked for a larger bill she said "cant give you our last..." I then asked if we could void the transaction so I could pay with a credit card and get my $20 back to which she said that was not possible. So, after asking for a customer service number (which she said she didnt have) and being ignored for a few by her, I asked this really nice lady at the other register (Cynthia) if she could finish my transaction so I could leave. She was amazing but needed Ms Jeanette/Tiff to finish it since it started on her cash drawer. She reluctantly came back to the desk and completed a refund after which I left WITHOUT what I came for. It should never a "hassle or chore" to go into a store to spend money for a product they offer. The service part of customer service still matters at some places at those are the places that will get my money from now on. By the way, I was able to get this very needed item in multiples at a Sally's in VA the very next day without a problem or attitude from staff. And Cynthia at the Largo location was excellent since I was also able to observe her graciousness and courtesy with customers while I was being berated and ignored by the "manager". Should get rid of her and promote Cynthia! read more
