I was promised my son's contacts would be in about 2 weeks ago and they never came in. I was told they were reordered but again they never came in. When I was offered an extra 3 months for the trouble I obliged and was told the office was open until 6 I went at around 5:45 on my way back from work and guess what they were closed. I called them today asking for a refund once again and was told I could only be refunded the contacts so of the $155 I paid only $50 was refunded. Now I have to wait for them to reverse the claim to be able to use my benefits again. I wish I had read the reviews before coming here. She offered to perform a upper lid blephlasttomy. She said the procedure will cost $4500 all together. Incidentally she charged my Healthcare insurance additional $2000 plus. On top of that her anesthesiologist was not even covered. Now I owe additional $3700. Therefore the upper lid procedure cost all together almost 10k. This place should be closed immediately and Sally Kim should be revoked of her MD license. I have never paid a visit to the doctor and came out with more questions than going into the appointment. I've had better checkups with my contact lens prescription services than this "doctor." She comes in 10 minutes late, doesn't ask about my symptoms or how I'm feeling but her first comment is that my insurance doesn't cover and whether I want to proceed. What a charm. Then starts blabbing things to her assistant (surprised the assistant even understood what she was saying), and then all she says is "you should wear sunglasses" I went in as there is a white border around my irises and she had zero comment about that despite me asking two times. She brushed it off as "it's normal" Finally, without even an explanation on why I needed a second visit, she says come back next time and the assistant asks to schedule a follow up. A few weeks passes and the assistant calls me saying I have a $13 balance due despite paying $125 for a 2 minute checkup. ha... ha... Seriously avoid this place at all cost. Wow, is Dr.Kim even a "doctor"? She's more into sales than anything. Came in once for an eye exam... she might have spent less than 2 minutes doing so and kept going in and out of the exam room while doing so. She sold me into buying $40 eye drops and kept insisting I purchase the one year supply of contact lenses instead of the 6 month supply. Had to return to her office to get my money back on the eye drops that she said should last me a while but expire in a few days. She couldn't figure out how to refund my debit card using her "square" device so insisted I leave my debit card information written on a post it note smh Never have I had such experience with anyone in the "medical" field! It questions me if she has a fake drs license. So we went here and she told me they that I needed cataract surgery. She put drops in and said to come back in month for post check up. She wanted to schedule for surgery but we told her we were very skeptical since I am very young. When we went for second opinion Dr. Paul Lee told me I have a retina detachment and that if I had a cataract surgery, My retina would have been totally detached and I wouldn't be able to see from that eye. 2 Retina specialists also said this. It cost us lots of money to figure this out. Save yourself from hell and get the heck out of here. If you work here - you should quit before you get yourself in the middle of a law suit. She intentionally won't complete the visit and require the patient to come back for another visit, in order to charge money for a follow-up visit. Hate this place. ALWAYS overbooked - expect a minimum wait of 1 hour, regardless of whether or not you have an appointment. Yes, she is good at what she does and knows what she's doing, but that does not win points for me since that's her JOB. She's a doctor - if she didn't know what she was doing, she'd be sued for malpractice. She has no bedside manner whatsoever, tries to sell you a bunch of crap every time you go in, recommends unnecessary surgeries, and charges you for every single follow up even if the follow up only consists of you waiting for 1.5 hours, then having her look at your eye for 1 minute to tell you you're fully healed. I guess she knows what she is doing, but I was really disappointed and regretted why I even went there from the first place. I think I will never go back. -people aren't really friendly/sometimes they are rude (They should learn how to be polite and smile) -waiting is super long (To me, this isn't really big deal. But sometimes it really gets on my nerve that I need to wait more than an hour to see her face for less than 5 minutes even though I made an appointment) -prescription: NEVER ENOUGH until next visit!!! (She gave me 0.5ml of eye drop to put in 3 times a day for 2 weeks. I tried to use it as little as possible until my next visit..but it only last about 9-10 days. When I went back after 2 weeks, she told me to use the rmng eye drops for another 2 weeks. I told her, the medication is never enough and I am already out of it. She said she will provide me a prescription, but she gave me a prescription of a medication which cost over $300). I could not get it since it was too expensive. -medical equipment is not clean enough (dropped one of the medication cap on the floor, but never wiped out and put back on) -the doctor's attitude (the doctor informed me "what" is the problem with my eye, but she never explained "why" and "how to prevent" from the cause. Since my symptoms were keep coming back after awhile, I asked her "why my allergy is keep coming back and how can I prevent from it", during my last visit. However, all she said was my eyes were born to be like that........(hm....let's say maybe I am but how come she does not even tell me how to take care of it/prevent from it?) she did not even bother to answer other questions and walked out to the next room. Knows what she is doing , but is more interested in getting you in for extra office visits for billing purposes. Been getting a procedure done here for years that only lasts 6 months but every time she wants to hit me up for an office visit, than come back 3 times to administer treatment. I went to an eye examination to renew my driver's license. I waited too long in the office and moved to another room for too long. The more absurd thing is that I need to record a detailed record of being able to drive on a dmv form, but she only wrote 16 letters. I took dmv with the form that the doctor wrote, and according to the form that the doctor wrote, I do not see my eyes. They say I can not drive. So I prove it, test it and get it. Be aware . The waiting is super long. They move you one room to another once they call you in and then final exam comes! Normal waiting is 'at least' 1 and a half hour from the time you check in to finally meet the doctor. No matter you have an appointment. I sooo regret not having listened to my fellow Yelpers!!! WORST experience ever!!! It's true, the wait is over 2 hours even though we arrived 20 min. early, and there was one patient, besides us, in the waiting area (and one in the exam room)!! She didn't care to ask any "get-to-know-you" questions, or about our health history ~ I'm the one that told her I was diabetic and had scarring on my left cornea!! What she DID care about is $$$, most likely she's in DEBT for renovating a flower shop into her office... She charged me $125 for a 5-second "contacts fitting fee" in which she dropped the lens, didn't rinse it & proceeded to still stick it into my eye!! Her "examination" of a new patient was all of 10 min.!!! This is just the tip of the iceberg....the staff, the optician, I would need more space than this box to explain!! Dr. Kim has been extremely helpful to me over the years. I've had reoccurring corneal ulcers that have been a pain and she was the first doctor I went to and the only one that I've continually returned to. I know a lot of people on here are complaining about their wait time, but I've seen her well over 10 times and I've never waited that long when I had an appointment scheduled. No more than 20 minutes, which is pretty standard for any doctor's office. I also don't use my insurance when I go to her.. wont go in to detail about why, but for paying out of pocket, I find her pretty reasonable. I called another ophthalmologist that told me that an out of pocket consultation would be $200! Dr. Kim's initial consultation was $90. The only complaint I really have is that there have been a few instances when I showed up and they told me that they had me down for a cancelled appointment when I never cancelled or I was called after I had cancelled an appointment telling me that I didn't cancel my appointment. That happened about three times and I found it a bit irritating, but she still saw me even when they had me down for the cancelled appointment. Besides that, I really do like her as a doctor and highly recommend her. read more

I had deep abrasions in my eye and was worried that I would lose vision. Dr. Sally Kim was able to squeeze me in to her busy schedule the very next day even though I was a first time patient. She worked with extreme precision and skill. She was reassuring and sweet. I love this doctor! I drove in all the way from Moreno Valley for her services. Sure I could have found a closer doctor but when it comes to my vision, I only wanted the best. read more

If you happen to visit this place make sure to check your insurance claims done by Sally Kim office. You might see claims something that you do not aware of. This sales lady Sally Kim will so eager to sell sunglasses or a pair of glasses because she wants to make huge profit off of you. She will search insurance companies that can cover eye glass purchase and eye exams by using your social security number. Then she will smile and try to earn your business. From this moment you have to make sure if you are being charged for services that you don't even know if you had the services such as several different eye exams. If you left the office without purchasing any eyewear then you must check your insurance. Sally Kim might've charged the eye exams without your consent or sign. She is this bad and just to pick pocket you without you knowing the charges. Scam artist. I don't know how many people have been scammed like this. She was messing with a wrong guy. I already disputed the claim they my insurance and I had to suffer from going thru all the hassle and time consuming phone calling and emailing. People. I came here recently to have my eyes examined and get a new pair of sunglasses. I'm not sure what all the one star rating are there for because I had a wonderful experience. I was able to make an appointment quickly, the day of and was seen to right away - basically had little wait time at all. Really nice and clean offices. Dr. Kim was really friendly and helpful. Did all the usual check up stuff, felt really comfortable. Then I went to go get a pair of sunglasses and the optician was very helpful. He picked out a pair of Ray Ban right away and it ended up being the pair I walked away with. He's like a mindreader when it comes to knowing which frames will flatter your face the best! Felt really happy and giddy walking away with my first Ray Bans and looking superfly! Overall great place! Highly recommend the doctor. A lot of people complaining about wait times - but honestly, I had no problems, and wait times are just expected when seeing doctors. read more

I was already down paying $680 out of pocket for one procedure and they said I had to do another: I declined because it was another $1000 and I went to another eye doctor and got an exam and it was all fine! I'd like to start by saying that I'm an avid Yelp user (more like a browser) but never really was motivated enough to leave a review. However, there's a first time for everything.. esp since I have a low tolerance for incompetency when it comes to anything healthcare-related. Also to note, I'm leaving this review on behalf of my father (cue sentimental family feels). In short, AVOID this place if you want to save your eyes (and $). 0 stars. My dad went to go see this "MD" mainly b/c he needed a place that opens on a Saturday. He's been having tearing and discharge from one of his eyes that finally warranted a doc's visit (*sigh* older Asian adults and waiting until things are pretty bad before going to see a doc). He had 3 appointments here. First, like some other reviewers have mentioned, even with appointments, he had to wait well over 30 min to be brought in each time. On the 3rd appointment, he had his usual appointment 9am, but by 9:30am, the doc lady hadn't even shown up to the office. They left. The lady, over the course of 2 MONTHS, prescribed my dad eye drop solutions containing antibiotics. She also taught my father to lift the eyelid and reach into the eye with a gauze and wipe.. which can pose an even greater risk for infection, especially when not performed in a sterile fashion at home. At the second appointment, she said the infection wasn't resolved and proceeded to merely re-prescribe the same antibiotic eye solutions and the wiping. Needless to say, the infection didn't improve and got even worse. My dad finally got a second opinion from a different ophthalmologist, who told him he should not be on the same antibiotics for that long and prescribed him a different treatment plan (and no wiping!). I'm glad my dad left before things got baddddd... I hope the new MD will be better, but I already have a feeling that he can't be any worse than this place. read more

After getting a referral from a family member who came here, I've been bringing my mom for some time for cataract surgery. The office is always clean, the nurses are friendly and efficient. If there is a way to give negative starts, I would. Be very very careful when you get service here. This place charge my insurance twice for a one service and over charge on my credit card by submitting different type of services for the same service. Check your insurance for the proper charge before paying them and make sure they file the correct claim with correct name type. As for the medication, the doctor prescribed duplicated non generic medication. Good they we have good pharmacist who would tell us that. Overall, definitely NOT going back! Just hope this help others and not getting ripoff. read more

I went to different doctor with same systems after I saw Dr Kim, I was referred to the retina specialists same day because it was that urgent and had retina repaired with laser on same day otherwise I would have detached retina!!!! She is the worst... ! Somebody needs to investigate her practice. She over charges patients and insurance company. She's notorious for over charging patients, and has very deceptive practice. She tries to sell you things that you don't need. She sold me eye lid wipe.. WTF? I haven't used it once! Oh, I used it once.. to wipe my shoe. I went in to remove a dirt behind my eye lid. It was a quick and simple procedure. She flipped my eye lid, and removed a dirt. End of the story, so I thought. She tells me that she needs to remove bottom two eye lashes, and tells me that it's considered surgery. They were not poking my eye, but I agreed to it since I assumed my insurance would cover it. I figured she's trying to rip off insurance company, but I went along with it because... at least I wasn't paying for me. Later, I found out that my insurance didn't cover it, and she's billing me $100. If I knew then, I wouldn't have let her touch my eye lashes. Sally, you are a shady character. I tried to reason with the receptionist/nurse to waive $100, but she doesn't want to hear. I asked her if I can talk to Sally, and she said Dr doesn't talk to patients. WTF. My wife came in to get contact lens prescriptions. We are both nurses so we know what we are doing. She never bothered to respond to my wife questions. She never bothered to explain why my wife needed to change prescriptions. The receptionist/secretary is clueless about standard questions even though this is a specialty MD office. My wife comes home and her new prescription lens begins to make her irritated and burn so she went back to old prescription. Ended up ruining her day. Do yourself a favor and find another office. I woke up not being able to open my left eye due to an infection on my eyebrow that had grown into my eyelid. Dr. Kim expertly drained the infection. Aside from the initial numbing shot that I was warned about, it didn't hurt. Feeling so much better now! read more

Been coming here since 1999. Shes our family's eye doc.My mom and her have been friends for years now. 2 years ago I came here cause my eyes were having a problem, I guess I haven't seen her since my last visit in 2005. I kept coming week after week. Like someone said, the eye drop sample is never enough to last you til the next appointment. Most recently went for my yearly eyes check and check for a new prescription eye glasses. Mistake on my part that I should of have done it in 1 trip. When I visited her the 1st time after checking my eyes, she said she will need to dilute my eyes. Next trip went in for dilution and i guess the assistant person should have told the doc to check my prescription first before dilution. The refraction trip had to pay the copay. My mom had a free eye exam through her insurance and they had the nerve to charge my mom a $50 fee for a written prescription!!! Isn't that what an eye exam is??? Bunch of baloney and doc should have her license taken back for malpractice and false claims. We originally paid but when wanted to get our money back and no longer wanted the Rx because we realized this was a sham, both the doc and office "sorry, but you already agreed to these services". Sally is one of those doctors who does her doctor job just for the money and not for the patients. I am So disappointed in how she treated my mom. She made her pay for the surgery before the surgery, and During the surgery (after all the bleeding etc) she Told her (recall During surgery) that she cannot go forward with the surgery because she does not have the right tools/machines. And she did not give one cent refund or an apology. Can you believe that? And Sally had been the one to strongly persuade my mom to do the surgery and showed absolute Confidence that she could do it.. and During surgery she tells her she cannot........ I was visiting LA and took my aunt to Dr Kim and Dr. Kim was very patient and explained how to take the eye drops that my aunt needed. My aunt trusts Dr Kim for her eye care. I myself ordered a pair of glasses there. They took the time to help me find the right frames for that prescription and fit them so the glasses would not slide down my nose. I found the staff very helpful. They mailed the glasses to me and I was surprised they fit just perfectly. I was very satisfied. read more
