I want to preface this review and say that my negative experience at this office is not attributed to Dr. Hoang. I came in for a routine eye exam and contact lens fitting on 5/10 and the doctor gave me monthly lenses to try. During my exam, I let the doctor know that I would like to also renew my daily lenses prescription and she said ok. The exam went well and I felt like Dr. Hoang was very thorough and kind and I really enjoyed our interaction. However, my experience with the staff was not as enjoyable. I felt like I wasn't really given clear direction during pre-testing and honestly wouldn't really know what to do or what the tests were for without my previous experience in optometry. I called the office on 6/7 to let the doctor know that I would like to move forward with the monthly lenses I tried as well as the dailies I was previously prescribed from a different office. The optician let me know she'd call me back after speaking to the doctor but I never received a call back. I called again on 6/11 and the same thing happened. I called a 3rd time on 6/12 and left a message (they're closed on Wednesdays) asking if they would be able to send me the contact lens prescription. I didn't receive a call back, but I did get an email with my prescription on 6/14, but it was with the wrong monthly lenses. I emailed back the same day asking for the correct brand and my glasses prescription and received a response the same day with my glasses prescription and they said the doctor finalized the prescription I provided. I emailed back with details of the situation on 6/15 (for the 4th time) and didn't get a response. I followed up today (6/18) via email and the optician said they would speak to the doctor and try to get back to by today, if not Thursday. They also mentioned they were very busy Saturday and have been for the past several days. I finally received my prescription on 6/22 after I followed up again, so a total of 15 days to get a prescription emailed to me. While I completely understand that small businesses can get busy, I also don't feel that it should take over 2 weeks to send a prescription . This office is super close to home, and I did enjoy the appointment with Dr. Hoang but I don't think I will be coming back given my experience with the rest of the staff. Their response about being busy makes me feel as though they're too busy to help their existing customers and does not make me feel valued as a customer. read more

I've been coming here for a few years now. I think I've gotten my yearly eye exam here 4 or 5 times now. This place is close to my house and I really like the optometrist here. She is super nice and I love chatting with her during the exam. She does the exam accurately and I'm always happy with the prescription she gives me. I even referred my friend here and she's also been coming here for a couple years now. The selection of glasses is just okay but it doesn't bother me too much because I'm more of a contact lens wearer. I just have 1 set of glasses for backup. However, make sure you know your benefits well before paying. My eye benefits states "contact lens fitting covered in full. $0 copay" but every year they try and charge me $50 for it. I always bring my insurance coverage and show them that its covered, but they will argue that the insurance doesn't actually pay them back for it, even though it says its covered. The first few times I just paid it, thinking that was true. However, the last exam and this exam, I refused to pay it since it states on my insurance that its covered and they told me they would try and get it from my insurance but if my insurance didn't pay them for it, then I would still owe them the $50. I just called my eye insurance company and they confirmed its covered. They looked at this current claim, along with previous years claims and said they can see that the optometry is billing them for it and that ever year they have paid them for it. This is why I'm deducting 2 stars. I haven't decided if I'm coming back next year or not. I really do like the optometrist but I feel like its kind of shady of them to try and charge me when its covered by my insurance and they have been getting paid for it every year. read more

They never answer they open up Later than normal time that it says on the door and answering machine. Ladies from receptionist to the owner honestly have no people skills. They are rude, snappy, and will walk away or cut u off mid conversation. Will never go back and I had all of my kids, wife and myself going there. Shitty place. read more

Try a different optometrist! They rip you off big time for frames. Anywhere else is wayyyyy cheaper! Check online and the same frames are sometimes several hundreds cheaper! So you pay with them $400 and you could buy your own for $100-$150. Go once and if you're happy over paying then awesome! Just make sure they get your frames right cuz I was given the wrong designer brand the first time I went. Second time I went they claimed to have used my correct vision plan but they didn't get any updated information from me for 2 years and I had switched plans a 2 years ago and I just visited the start of this 2022. If they are correct with using my proper vision plan it proves they are a huge rip off. Cuz my plan anywhere else was 70% cheaper for the SAME frames. read more

We made our appointment, over the phone. This place is right next to DD's. Lots of free parking. We were greet as soon as we walked in. The Dr. took me in right away. I was done within 30 minutes. They took VSP insurance and we picked up our glasses within a couple of weeks. Will be returning. read more

Worse optometry office ever. 1- They change extra $5 for credit card. BEAWARE 2- They need 3 weeks for contact fitting claiming they need to order contacts because they are "special". I went to target Target optometry did it on the spot. Woow no 3 weeks wait. They only did this after I told them I will buy the lenses somewhere else. 3- They billed my insurance for the glasses exam so now I can not get an exam somewhere else without paying the entire amount allover again. It cost me $150 out of pocket because they consumed my annual exam benefit. Good luck Dr. Vanna Hoang, O.D. on running such a business. New Image Optometry - Love My glasses!!! - Optometrists Near Me - Anaheim, California

I went here last week to get my eyes checked. They're one of the fews that actually accept Medi-Cal or Cal-Optima & has good yelp reviews on here, which is why I chose this place. I scheduled an apt with their receptionist & it went fine, but on the day of my apt, i tried to call them numerous times to confirm the apt for that day before arriving, but no one answered & their automated phone system stated diff operation hours than my actual apt my time. It was very confusing that they didn't do any reminder calls for apts like other optometries. Anyways, i still drove there and boom, they're open. When i went inside, they had me wait 15 minutes before filling out any paperwork. After filling out the paperwork, they made me waited for another 15 minutes. There were 2 staff workers in-front trying to help 3-4 different customers so I understand that they were busy. Overall, the place lacks a lot of customer service skills & has HARDLY any frame selections for poor ppl with my ins because they want us to pay additional or out-of-pocket for gls. Not to mention, their frames are all high-priced, like waaaay more than what it looks. Example, a Sabline frame would cost from $20-$99 at other optometries, but theirs costed around $150 which is INSANE! I wouldn't recommend this place to my family and friends. Definitely not coming here again! read more

I have never been to an optometrist who has been so thorough and explained almost every procedure for me to understand... maybe because I'm into physiology and want to be a nurse, I really appreciated it. But after been going to Dr. wada for a few years and Walmart optometry in the Buena Park mall, this location far exceeds any other. The prices here are so reasonable. They even have a new grand opening discount going on! Amazing staff. Dr. Vanna was so sweet and takes great care of you. She addresses all concerns and even checked my near sighted vision. Most optometrist assume because of young age, my near sighted vision is fine. She makes you feel so comfortable. The location is brand new and interior is beautiful inside. Even though I live in TX I have been going to Dr. Vanna for years whenever I visit my family in CA. One time I had an eye prescription by another optometrist in TX that gave me major headaches. Luckily I came back to CA for the holidays and Dr. Vanna re-examined me and gave me a new less aggressive prescription that was effective without any headaches. Truly a wonderful doctor, who is gentle and thorough with all her explanations/procedures. The team especially the office manager Thu is sweet and patient as I spent a long time trying out new frames. The new office is modern and clean with a wide range of purchase options.
