*Tip: When trying a new ethnic food that you're not familiar with, it's best to ask for the recommendation of their best dishes. *The Best Halo-Halo dessert in town, it's pretty big for only $9 and just perfect for the summer. *If you're looking for authentic comfort Filipino Food, you need to try this secret spot. *The Chicken Adobo, Pork BBQ, and Lumpia (Spring rolls) was incredible, so flavorful, fresh and unforgettable. I regret not trying out more dishes. Need to come back! Salo-Salo Filipino Cuisine serves up mouthwatering, authentic Filipino dishes that instantly transport you to the islands. Their chicken adobo is tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, while the pork BBQ is smoky, juicy, and packed with bold, savory goodness. Each bite tastes like home-cooked love, and it's impossible not to crave more. And if you have a sweet tooth, don't skip the halo-halo--it's hands down the best around. Creamy, refreshing, and layered with all the right textures, it's the perfect finish to an unforgettable meal. One visit won't be enough--you'll definitely want to come back to explore the rest of the menu.

Amazing food and service. It feels like going to your tita's house for a meal. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Guests talk to each other across the room like family. We've been here twice, and we're pleased both times. Everything we tried tastes like it was made with love. Must try!

Definitely a hole in the wall spot. A gem for sure. The young ladies working here were nice and helpful. They have an extensive authentic filipino menu. The fried rice was a little bland, but nothing some soy sauce couldn't fix. The adobo chicken was my favorite. I'd visit again.

A new hole-in-the-wall Filipino restaurant in Morrow! We went on a Saturday late afternoon and were the only patrons there, but the employees were nice and welcoming. The ambiance & service are good (the exterior is a bit unassuming, but don't let that deter you from going in). We got the: - Lumpia Overload: Perfectly crispy on the outside & fatty on the inside. My only note was that I wish it was topped with real queso (rather than the cheese whiz type topping) and had something to cut the richness (maybe like pico de gallo or lettuce since it seems this item is modeling nachos; I suppose the jalapeño did help with this). - Chicken Inasal: Loved the smokiness of the grill; appreciated the subtle sweetness of the chicken and contrast provided by the vinegary sauce. Also really appreciated the generous portion! - Longsilog: The longanisa was enjoyably fatty, had a nice snap and sweetness. Egg was perfectly runny. - Calamansi juice: Was kind of expecting fresh juice, but it was still good! - Halo halo: Bit too much ice for us initially, but it was really tasty after we took a big chunk out. Loved all the different toppings (jellies, red bean, chickpea, ube ice cream, taro paste, probably more stuff I'm forgetting haha). Plenty of parking upfront. 7/10 would recommend!

I would have never gone here. Its location and outside appearance isn't amazing. BUT MY GOODNESS the food is outstanding!!! I'll happily pilgrimage to this place weekly now:

    Halo halo

Salo Salo has been on my go-to list to check out since their opening. Happy we finally had a chance to go. My husband and I shared the meat platter with chicken inasal, BBQ sticks, and grilled pork liempo. Lots of food! We didn't finish it all and took the leftovers home. All the meats were good (even as leftovers). It was a bit warm inside the restaurant, so halo halo was a welcome dessert to help cool us down. We received very welcoming, friendly service from the owner and her son. As per Filipino culture, she struck up a conversation with us, not just asking how the food is. She shared that she will make off-menu specials every now and then, and one of that day's special was ginataang bilo bilo. So I had to try it. It was actually my fave thing I ate. The serving was huge, so I was happy to take the rest home for later. There is also a case of packages baked goods for purchase made by Claire's. We brought home some ube ensaymada. With the other Atlanta Filipino restaurants being in the city or north, Salo Salo is a good Filipino spot covering the South Atlanta area.

The food was great! My husband and I went today and it was delicious. We tried a few different things and everything was good.

So excited for a Filipino restaurant close to my house. I ordered the bulalo which was exactly what I wanted on a rainy day. The lechon kawali that my brother-in-law got was on point. The sisig wasn't our favorite. It wasn't crispy enough. The halo-halo was full of everything we wanted! Service was on point. They spoke Tagalog, which is always a plus for me. The ambiance consists of Filipino songs and I loved it so much.

As first-time visit their resto setting transported us back to the Philippines, reminiscent of the Carenderia style we miss. Our orders included Pinakbet, Dinuguan, and a platter of succulent "juicy" pampano fish, reminiscent of Zamboanga City's seafood bounty. Radish Atchara has won over with its authentic flavor "lutong nanay", evoking memories of most hometown. The pork liempo was exceptional much like my father's cooking . The pork & chicken barbecue were tender & flavorful. The tomato-grilled stuffed squid was a delightful surprise not salty. While Dinuguan was prepared differently, its unique flavor impressed me, though I suggest adding more pork blood for added depth. I have fond memories of enjoying okoy-okoy during college days (by the way, just ask the restaurant to include shrimp, considering their allergy awareness policies) and it tasted great too with vinegar. Pork lumpia, a traditional homemade dish "masarap ito" & Kuchinta is my fave which is why I miss most kakanin. It brought back memories of the Philippines today. Their service was exceptional, with the owner extending a warm welcome, characteristic of Filipino culture & hospitality, which I greatly appreciate. I even end up singing 3 Filipino OPM songs. I admired the humble ambiance within their restaurant. Good location din for travelers visiting Atlanta Will try their bulalo next visit and explore the rest of their menu. Good luck po and more power sa resto ninyo. Highly recommended! Must try food. Salamat

NOTE if you go during brunch and you get a cocktail from the menu you won't see the prices for brunch. That is part of the reason for the low rating. I ordered the impossible burger slider, it doesn't come with anything. Just two sliders. I ordered the potatoes. Even though the sliders were decent. It was a little salty. Presentation was good. But what you do get is good food and service. Everyone seemed to enjoy working there, the staff was super nice as was what I assume to be the owner/manager who chatted with us for a bit. Though in an older building, we used to frequent this specific spot back in the day when it was a pizza shop, it's super clean, the restaurant and restroom(s). (I assume the men's is as well kept as the women's.) we were there mid Thursday afternoon and they had quite a few customers! We ordered a few rounds of raw oysters, teriyaki chicken tenders with fries, peel-n-eat shrimp, and buffalo shrimp, so quite a variety and everything tasted great! It's set up like a bar scene, though they only serve beer and wine which I can only assume has to do with the ginormous expense for a full bar liquor license and stock price threshold. The menu leans more into bar food plus some delicious extras such as raw oysters. They also have a board up displaying live music dates and such. I love these types of places, small businesses, especially ones that show so much enthusiasm will always hold a special place in my heart over corporate chains any day in spite of the cost of entry. If I had one recommendation, it would be to update the ketchup bottles. The labels either need to go or just replace the bottles altogether. Otherwise, everything was great!
