We decided to give this place another try, and wow--what a difference this visit made! Honestly, it all came down to our waiter this time. Tian was phenomenal, attentive, organized, and genuinely made the experience enjoyable. He started us off by prepping the grill, laying out our first order, and checking in regularly to make sure everything was cooking perfectly. Drinks were refilled promptly, and he even swapped out the grill when needed, making the whole process smooth and effortless. The food this round was solid all around. The buffet line was constantly refreshed, so everything stayed hot, and while the menu is small, there's enough to satisfy most cravings. With the grill being changed frequently, we didn't leave smelling like we'd bathed in smoke a big win! Our usual sweet potato dilemma? Tian handled it immediately by providing a separate pot to cook it in. That small gesture really showed the difference between good customer service and exceptional customer service. The place was clean and my server was courteous & attentive and the price was reasonable - that's the main reason I'm giving 3 stars. However, the Korean BBQ itself was disappointing. The selection of meats looked somewhat Korean, but none of them had traditional Korean flavors. For example, the LA galbi/Rib tasted like it was marinated in a basic teriyaki/soy sauce mix - Zero authentic Korean taste. After just a few bites, I could tell the meats weren't prepared by a Korean chef. How do I know? I'm fully Korean. Out of curiosity, I checked who owns the restaurant, and as I suspected, it's not Korean owned, and the chefs aren't Korean either. Over the past few years, the global rise of Korean culture--K‑Pop, K‑Beauty, and especially K‑Food--has inspired many restaurateurs to open Korean BBQ-style establishments. Unfortunately, not all of these new ventures have taken the time to truly understand or master authentic Korean flavors. More and more, it feels as though people are simply jumping on the bandwagon, opening Korean BBQ concepts without the skill or commitment needed to replicate the cuisine's traditional taste. As a result, locations like this one end up imitating the idea of Korean BBQ rather than delivering a genuine experience. And when the flavors fall short, owners often label the menu as a "fusion" concept instead of acknowledging the lack of authenticity. The experience and flavors presented here do not reflect what an authentic Korean BBQ restaurant offers. In fact, the overall approach suggests that the establishment like this one capitalizing on the global popularity of the Korean‑wave, taking the easier route by using the "Korean BBQ" label without delivering the traditions, techniques, or depth of flavor that define true Korean cuisine. The business would likely do well without positioning itself as "Korean BBQ," as the execution does not align with established Korean culinary standards. A more accurate description--such as "Asian‑Style Tableside BBQ" or "Chinese BBQ"--would more honestly represent the style and flavors they provide. Additionally, the restaurant did not provide the assortment of side dishes typically served at traditional Korean establishments. I had a fun time here! I stopped in for the first time for a friend's birthday. The ambiance is casual, no fuss. Everything was clean and organized. I had written the server's name here in a draft, but I lost it, so my apologies--but he was great! Everybody was patient with us and accommodating. If you've never done Korean bbq / hot pot before, it can be a bit confusing and intimidating at first, but they do a good job of explaining everything. I hadn't done it in several years, so I felt like a newbie all over again! Our table shared several things for the grill in the middle of the table--this is a shared dining experience. For $5 more, we also added on the hot pot, and everybody picks their own broth and accoutrements. You have your own little heater for it in front of you. To drink, I had a soju cosmo which was tasty. To eat, I started at the sides and toppings bar which was fun. By the time we were done picking out our items and made it back to our table, our order of variety of meats and veggies to share had arrived. For my hot pot, I did the Szechuan spicy broth. I can't remember which items I selected for the hot pot vs the bbq, but I personally chose enoki mushrooms, quail eggs, pork dumplings, and fish cakes. Everything was yummy! We had a little bit of everything in our pots but my favorite was the goyza. So many choices from carnivore to vegan. Try something new! I mentioned in passing that the reason I prefer authentic 100% Korean BBQ spots is because of the sauce -- and without skipping a beat, he knew exactly what I meant. Not only did he understand, he literally Googled the ingredients, crafted something on the spot, and somehow made a version that tasted even BETTER than what I had in mind. Who does that?? Seriously. That kind of thoughtfulness and attention to detail is unheard of. Let's not forget the rest of the experience -- the food here is 5 stars all the way. This place has potential but they need to work out some kinks. I've visited twice since they opened. The first visit was for lunch. When I started to order my food, I asked my server which hot pot base had pork in it (I don't eat pork). He asked me if I was allergic because "the people in the kitchen don't change their gloves or utensils often and there may be cross contamination". I appreciated the honesty but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to say that to a customer. Still, the food was decent and they bring you so much of the items you choose for the hotpot. It's very filling. On the second visit, my mom and I went one night for dinner. The bartender was our server and he said he was new so ordering took a little more effort. I don't know what they mopped the floor with that night but it was like walking on ice. No exaggeration, she and I had to hold onto eachother to keep from falling. The host made a joke about his shoes that had extra grip. They must've known it was too slippery because an employee was trying to mop up some of the moisture in between guests. When it was time to leave, it was worse! I had on rain boots and I could glide across the floor without moving my feet. Two employees had to hold onto us to help us out of the door. It was that slippery! On the way out, someone waiting to be seated said "Oh yea, it's really slippery in here". So, is this a thing? Either way, it's dangerous. The only thing I can say I was disappointed with was the hot line fries chicken donuts and crawfish wasn't refreshed and we didn't get to enjoy that at all. One the desserts had gnats on it. But overall it's hot pot and bbq you can't go wrong with it. The vibes were vibing. Food was good. Wasn't feeling the Thai tea tasted kinda...lotion potion. Our server was great!!! We visited for Mother's Day, and I'll admit, I was a bit hesitant when I first arrived. The inside is spacious, and the staff was friendly, though they seemed a little overwhelmed by the crowds--understandably so for the holiday. The buffet bar was a nice bonus, and having visited other Korean BBQ spots in Atlanta, this was a great addition to the experience. Although, they need staff constantly there cleaning up the buffett bar. It was messy, dishes sitting on top of the bar...definitely room for improvement and concerns for sanitation. However, there were a few issues that stood out. For one, they charge for people who don't eat, and everyone at the table must choose the same dining option--either BBQ and/or Hot Pot. You can also be charged for leftover food, which seems unfair. My question to the staff was simple: if I don't like something, why should I be penalized for not eating it when I'm already paying? This felt a bit frustrating. Aside from those policies, the experience was good. Unfortunately, we later learned that several members of our group suffered from food poisoning after eating here, requiring urgent care. I can see how this could happen--cross-contamination is a real concern. I even noticed a strong, rotten smell near the back of the restroom, which made me uneasy but I didn't think much of it at the time. Please be cautious if you decide to eat here. Several of my family members are still recovering from being sick, and I hope they address these hygiene concerns. Please be careful eating from here! I went for the first time tonight with my sister and we picked up it to go order. We sat at the bar while I had a beer. Which was very refreshing and engaged in conversation with the young person working as a bartender upon placing our food order. My sister got a garlic shrimp box and myself. I got a bowl with some chicken wings, granite. The restaurant itself is on the other side of the town. From us, so it tastes about 20 minutes to get there. Anyway, when I get home, I noticed that I have no chicken wings. So I call back up there and I'm informed. Yes, they made a mistake, and it'd be going back on my car. 10 of us dined here on 2/14/25. It was packed but we didn't wait long to be seated, definitely impressed by that. Everyone at the table has to order either the hot pot, BBQ or both so just an FYI. We all ordered both, once seated it took awhile for our server to come over, I think they were just busy and weren't really prepared for the crowds as the parking lot was packed!! The Beef meat is pretty fatty, chicken was good and the veggies were fresh and crisp. They also have like a condiment bar with tons fo different sauces, fried wings, a pan of seafood boil which goes fast and has shrimp, crawfish and crab legs. There is no funny smells in here. It cam be smokey in here really back. Left out and my clothes and hair reeked of bbq smell etc but in a good way I guess. I'm happy to see something like this on the Southside. Be aware there is a sign that states they will charge you for being wasteful with the food...meaning if your order refills and don't actually eat it you will be charged. I think it is better for smaller parties though. 10 of us sat comfortably in the booths in the middle of the restaurant but there is only two bbq burners. Our meats didn't come out in a timely manner and I had to keep reminding our server what we were missing. I felt as if the restaurant jipped me, I paid the bill and tipped 18%. If they were honest people then I would have tipped more. This place has potential but I'd rather drive to KPot in Tucker instead.
