My son got a haircut here. Came with shoulder length hair. Told the hairdresser don't cut it short. Came back and half his hair was cut off. Who does that?! Have some common sense... if someone has hair that long they too a long time to grow it out you don't just cut half off! Kid is damn traumatized over this. Pretty much the same thing that happened to Matt D. More than a years worth of growth lopped off like it's not big deal. Sheena has done my hair now for 3 years and I cannot imagine getting my hair done by anyone else. The prices are reasonable and the service is amazing. I live in Florida, but when I visit my parents in New York I always make sure to make an appointment. Prior to going to Salon 877, I've had my fair share of uneven haircuts and awful color. It's taken me a VERY long time to talk about my DEEPLY UPSETTING experience** I went in for a (long hair) haircut, I think the girl's name was Alex/Alyssa, I remember it staring with an A- her chair was first or second from the door. I asked for more volume, layering, and air dry, no blow out... What I got was NO JOKE: * Zero, ZERO volume, I mean FLAT. * Used the razor scissors I specifically asked NOT to be used, and just lopped off hair as she pleased; no body, no shape. * Blow dried my hair, and had the audacity to CHARGE ME 20$ more than the original price I was given when I came in. I cried for days, it took months for my hair to even start to recover. Don't, I mean it- DO NOT go here. EVER. **My biggest regret was not following up with this sooner, but I was SO traumatized. When looking to do hair and makeup for my wedding i was thrilled to find out my girls from Salon 877 made house calls. I mean what more can i bride ask for when she gets someone that she knows....but also someone who knows her hair. Madision not only does my hair all year long but did my hair for my wedding and omg i loved my hair, even more so is the girl who did it. She along with Sheena who did my makeup were amazing along with the rest of the team who came. I would recommend this Salon not only to do hair/ makeup for your special day but any day! This was my first experience with this salon. I booked an appointment for last week and then I was called to cancel it because the hairstylist was sick, which was understandable. I was offered an appointment after one week, and then 15 minutes before the appointment I was told that the hairstylist was stuck in traffic and was not going to make it. The person on the phone (who was not the hairstylist) offered no apologies, and when I enquired further, she became hostile and hanged up on me. Not only they cancelled twice, but also showed an unkind and inconsiderate attitude. For this reason, I had given them 1 star initially. Quick update: the hairstylist called me to apologize and offered me a discount. I went and got a great haircut. She was very nice and the service was great. They deserved 5 stars for this experience, but I gave 3 overall, in light of the first negative interaction. read more

After many phone calls and emails to find a stylist for my wedding, I stumbled upon Salon 877 and Diana. She was extremely accommodating and made me feel very at easy. I am an older bride...I have alopecia and I am a life-long sufferer of cystic acne (scarring) so this whole hair & makeup thing was rough for me, but she made it a breeze and helped me to see what others see, a beautiful me! I loved my hair. I loved the lipstick she chose for me. Although, I didn't particularly like the eyeshadow shades (wanted more of a light champagne, less gold) and eyeliner (it left a weird line on my lid)...and this was my mistake that could have been easily avoided if I had done a makeup trial... everyone and I mean everyone LOVED it, even my aunt who is really into this stuff. Diana covered those scars like a pro, even my dark circles and wrinkles. I haven't been to a salon in 3 years and this more than surpassed all my expectations. I'll be back for regular cuts! IF I COULD GIVE THIS ZERO STARS I WOULD!!!!!!!!!! I am extremely unsatisfied with the service I have received the salon. The first time I came in on June 5th to get balayage - a hair painting technique. I showed multiple pictures of the hair color and style i desired. I left with orange clumps in my hair and chunky dyed hair. Dissatisfied, I called to have my hair fixed. The second time I came in on June 14th, and left happier - until I looked in the mirror and realized from each profile view, I looked like two different people. I was also extremely annoyed that prior to coming in I was told I would not be charged for a fix - but as I left the second time I was told I needed to be charged. I would not have had to come back in, if the hair colorist did her job the first time, as well I would not have come back in again if I was being charged for I could have gone somewhere else that would have done a better job than this. As you can see from the attached photos, the hair coloring is completely uneven and straight up horrible technique. By paying $210, I would've expected to have had top notch service and hair envied by all. Instead, I have to get my hair done for a third time and pay X amount more because the Salon did not do their job. read more

High end prices with budget results. Go there ONLY if you want a bad cut & Color. I had my hair cut, colored & highlighted 3 days before I went on vacation. {This was my THIRD highlighting appointment within 7 months.} On the second day of my vacation when I was doing my hair - actually fighting with my hair to get it under control because of the bad cut - I noticed a root line!!!! My hair does not grow fast enough where there would be a root line after 5 days - does anyones? The poor coloring job came with dye stains on my neck and forehead. I have no problem paying for quality work. But 877 is not quality. I asked for and paid a half head of highlights but only got face frame highlights that were barely noticeable. The poor cut and color have completely turn me off to this place, to say nothing of the dirty, chaotic salon. I like to patronize local businesses but I would use the Flobe before I would go back here. read more

Had a hair cut and it ended up being uneven. Went in the next day and asked to have the cut corrected. The rude receptionist was not accommodating at all. The stylist was not there and I was told I would be charged if another stylist corrected the cut. I called the next day went in and still had to wait when my stylist blocked off a time to correct my cut. I showed how my hair was uneven, the front of my hair was darker there were no highlights in the front. I paid over $300, very disappointed and would not recommend. My uneven haircut was rectified but I would need to make another appt to get the highlights fixed. Within 10 minutes of my post the owner of the salon, Jeff called me. He was very apologetic and assured me nothing like this would ever happen again. read more

The owner of this salon is the rudest person I've ever meet. My hair came out nothing like what I wanted and my hair is Brassy. My hair doesn't make sense at all the side of my head looks like a completely different person compared to the back. I kindly asked for some sort of refund but automatically got treated like a pest. Didn't listen to me and wanted to get me out. Offered me a 25 dollar refund for a almost 200 dollar job that is completely not what i wanted. Was being rude and dismissive. Obviously I didn't want a full refund but I want some sort of money back. A toner and glaze is 55$ and my hair came out super patchy and brassy. They did offer to fix but she wanted to bleach my hair even more in the back where I wanted LESS. I just wasn't comfortable and the boss yelling in my face didn't convince me to have them fix it either. Terrible experience ugly hair not what I wanted don't recommend. Sheridan did my hair. I've had two great experiences at Salon 877, once last spring and once today. I was really happy so I felt compelled to submit a review. Jessica did my color and cut both times. She did a fantastic job and was very friendly. I would absolutely recommend her and would come back. Additionally, one of the things I like about this place is the online booking system. Very convenient and easy to use. Also, just in case it's important to you, they have a large parking lot. (Many places around here don't, so thought it was worth mentioning.) read more

Was recommended to come here and was sold from the "special" on their website. My hair was completely damaged from the coloring and did not end up getting the color I wanted. Even though I feel bad I am not one to really complain, I will just not go back. I have gone to the city to get it colored and styled FOR THE SAME PRICE. Felt like I was scammed with the price, but then again this is what I get for trying to go to what I thought was a cheaper salon. (Which ended up being expensive and a mistake either way)I am glad they offered to fix it BUT in fixing it made it worse. The color is gross now and will have to spend ANOTHER $250 or more to get it fixed and blended. My mistake for not reading the reviews before hand. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a high schooler who went in for a single dye treatment without a parent. This one "treatment" took 4 hours and was nothing like what i had asked for. While the service was good, the hairdresser DID NOT INFORM ME OF ANY PRICES. She ended up doing 4 different treatments without telling me and COMPLETELY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME. The prices online were completely different than what i was charged. When my mom called later to ask about the confusion, the hairdresser told her, " what do you expect when you send your daughter in with 'mommy's credit card?' I went to the salon as it was recommended on the Redken website and I wanted to try the Redken shades EQ hair gloss to freshen up my hi-lites which were dull & brassy . The stylist applied the gloss to wet hair and there was absolutely no difference what so ever afterwards. I dryer it myself. I didn't want a blow out as I wasn't going anywhere. When I researched why it didn't work on my hair the Redken website states that this must be applied to dry hair so I called back and told the receptionist. she asked me if I'd like to come back and have it reapplied and I accepted. This time the stylist applied it to my hair dry, however even though I had shown her photos of my desired 'Jennifer Aniston' type color she made it dark brown and it's such a drastic change. I called her from home stating that this wasn't at all what I asked for and she told me to just keep washing it and it'll wash out!! So very disappointed. What a complete waste and now I hardly want it step outside with this fake looking brown color!!!! read more

I have been going to going to Salon 877 for years now and absolutely love my stylist, Madison. From cuts, to color, to blow outs and styles she has always been fabulous! So, when it came to my wedding this December I didn't hesitate in asking her and the team at Salon 877 to do the hair for me and my bridal party. We had a team of 4 stylists come to the venue. I was beyond happy with how we all looked. All the styles were beautiful and elegant and complemented our dresses perfectly. Beyond that the team at Salon 877 was professional and accommodating. I even had Madison stay through the ceremony to touch up hair and was so happy to have her. My hair was on point all day and night! A wedding day can be stressful but I was totally calm and confident with these stylists. I highly recommend Salon 877!! read more

This place is definitely expensive. The owner has been cutting my hair during the last year, and I was never quite satisfied with either the quality of cut and service. Salon 877 is convenient and massive, but you may not get the attention I, for one, hoped. Yesterday I went to Joe at Haircutters, in White Plains. That's where I'll be going as long as I'm living in Westchester. (Check out my Haricutters review.) Joe's cheaper and offered me a much better cut at 1/3 the price than Salon 877. In short, Salon 877 is convenient (e.g. online booking), but expensive and lesser quality than cheaper haircutters around Westchester. read more

i started going here after my friend recommended it & i was disappointed with the cut i was getting from my current salon...good thing she did! I have thin curly hair that I always blow-out. to give it volume Diana is SO skilled with scissors, and even more so with the blow drier. I feel like it's near impossible finding someone that knows how to blow out my hair and give it volume, instead of just blowing it pin straight. I can't wait for my next cut & blow-out!! read more

Just had a single process and haircut with Danette. The single process was way better than most, but the haircut was fabulous! I'm a curly girl that wears a stacked in the back bob, a little longer than chin length...Danette was highly skilled at this type of cut AND my type of hair! It looks absolutely to die for! After living in Westchester for 8 years, I finally found a hair salon (more importantly, a hair stylist) worthy to book a repeat appointment! Sheena, a young, fun, vibrant hair dresser, was amazing. She was attentive and understanding to my needs (showed her a few pictures and she was spot on..it was such a fun haircut and easy to maintain)....and a perfectionist. This amazing 20-something got me back to my original hair color... PERFECTLY....(literally made sure the color was applied correctly....and after assessing, applied more to cover it all...) Great 'teacher' to another young lady there (respectful). I was completely impressed. Found this salon through a nice mom at my daughter's school....thanks! read more

Please don't go to this salon. The woman at the front desk will tell you anything, whether true or not. I called and asked if she had a stylist who could put my hair up for a wedding. She assured me that the only available stylist would do a great job. When I arrived on time and the stylist was late, the front desk woman assured me that the up-do would take only 30 minutes. Over time, I've had my hair put up by at least 20 different hairdressers, none of whom had any difficulty in making it look nice. The girl at the salon had no idea what to do and turned my curly hair into a giant frizz-ball by playing with it and spraying it with hair spray without being able to pin it up. This went on for almost an hour. The stylist working in the next chair was so horrified that she tried to help by using a curling iron to salvage the up-do. Though better, the end result was still so frizzy that I had to take the whole thing out and start over at home -- making me late to the wedding. I don't blame the stylist, who was clearly young and inexperienced. (I paid and tipped her because she was unable to do the job and felt bad about it.) I blame the woman at the front desk for lying. I live in the area and would have been thrilled to find an honest and good local place to have my hair cut and put half up or up for dressy occasions. All the woman at the front desk had to do was to tell me that she had nobody available on the date I needed. Bad business choice, Salon 877. I will keep driving into Manhattan for these services and tell my local friends about your dishonesty and poor service. read more

I have never written a review for anything. I moved to this area and my friend recommended this salon for color and cut. What I wanted unfortunately I did not get. She was very nice however did not know how to color hair. My hair turned brassy and orange and colored my gray roots however after 1 wash I saw them again. They use a very cheap coloring and conditioning product. My hair was stiff and falling out when she went to blow dry it. 5 days later it's still dry and stiff. Plus my gray roots can be seen. My color is a disaster. Can't wait to get it fixed. Def not going back there to fix my botched color. Worst dye job ever. Def don't know how to color hair there. Do not go!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

She choose and executed a beautiful new hair color that made my skin tone glow. She cut my hair with skilled hands and finished my look with new make-up to match. I have been a regular client of my stylist for...many years. I use him alone and follow his recommendations. More recently, I have needed a bit of hiding of my gray hair (being blond, this is less frequent and later in my life). I only go to Maureen, who worked with my stylist from the beginning, and I trust her completely. She knows that, being a natural blond, I see no need to "make myself blond." The prices are expensive, and I would say it is best if you know your stylist coming in. I followed mine from several locations throughout the Bronx and Westchester, and he's been here for over 20 years. read more

I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS SALON AGAIN AFTER THE WAY THE OWNER SPOKE TO ME SND TREATED ME. I'm a stylist myself and can do my own color but I am 9 months pregnant and I was hoping to be able to and have my color done and treat myself.... Boy was I wrong. after I had my color done the colorist ( who us a personal friend if mine) asked if I wanted a blow dry I explained to her that I was going straight home to rest and at this point in my pregnancy I don't care what I look like. The snobby nasty passive aggressive owner says well u really should care. I was extremely embarrassed and offended. I then thanked my friend fur the color ( I didn't confront the owner because I didn't want to make my things uncomfortable for my friend. Then the owner waves her hand and says to my friend ( while I'm standing right there mind you) o offer her a complimentary blow dry. Once again I said I don't want a blow dry I am in pain and need to go home. So in my time there the OWNER was able to insult me embarrass me and imply that I am cheap.
