My sister and I wanted to pamper ourselves with a relaxing massage while on vacation in Marco Island, and Salon + Spa Botanica was recommended in a Pinterest blog. When we arrived early, as instructed to complete paperwork, we were greeted by the friendly receptionist. My massage therapist, we'll call her "S", made a comment to the receptionist (in front of me) stating, "For the record, we're starting fifteen minutes early." During the massage, S made conversation and felt compelled to share her personal thoughts on the mandate for wearing masks, mentioning it should be treated in the same approach as flu and only at-risk people be required to wear masks. I replied and explained to her that I had friends and family who had been treated (and hospitalized) for Covid, and they range in ages from young children to middle-aged adults. It made me a little uncomfortable, and I was hoping to have a quiet massage. Lastly, the massage itself felt a bit rushed. The hot stones were nice, but I felt more pain today in my lower back and neck. The neck massage was strange and not at all what I'm accustomed to. Needless to say, chances are extremely slim that I'll return here for future spa services. read more

I hate to leave bad reviews but someone needs to say this. The on-call massage therapist refused to wear a mask when asked prior to the massage and when questioned about whether she's vaccinated, she gave me a non-answer that made it very clear she's not vaccinated. I get that some people don't want to get a vaccine or wear a mask for whatever reasons, but when you're a massage therapist, you gotta do at least one of those. Get real. Protect yourself and be mindful of others. I was upset this wasn't disclosed to me because it should have been. I wasted my time coming here. read more

I was so happy with my haircut from from George. I've had my hair long for years but decided to go very short. I couldn't be happier with how it turns out my hair feels so great and it looks so good it's perfect for my face. The layers around my face accents my features. We searched all over to find someone to wrap my daughter's hair. She had gotten it done years ago at the Marriott on Marco Island. We are so happen to find Jackie at Salon and Spa Botanica. She did a fabulous job! Jackie normally does braids so we needed to pick up the embroidery thread and made an appointment for the next day. My daughter has this done every spring break and is so happy to have it again this year! read more

I liked my pedicurist (pedicure wasn't great but I liked her) and made an appointment with her for a manicure a few days later. I showed up for my appointment and she sent a new manicurist up to take me and said the girl I had an appointment with prefers pedicures so she's switching customers with her. Wow! Then I had a no chip manicure and two nails peeled off that night. At the end of the manicure she said "There is lotion over there if you need any," and I've never had a manicure where they don't apply lotion. Also didn't do the cuticles. More expensive than the nail salons too that provide full service mani pedi's. Very nice girls but so disappointed. read more

It has all of the amenities you would need. Everyone is friendly, helpful & courteous to all of the customers! JoAnn is a wonderful stylist! I came here with my sister in law for an hour massage. I had Carlton, who was very very good. He did a 'pre' and 'post' check of alignment and symmetry in the mirror, which, although interesting, was slightly uncomfortable. His massage was unlike any massage I'd ever received, but I really enjoyed it. The salon and spa were clean and inviting. The front desk staff was nice, and I felt as if the price was fair. My mother in law got her hair washed and styled, and it came out beautifully. I will return to this salon and spa to see Carlton again. read more

My wife went back so they could straighten her uneven bangs and they chopped half of them off. My wife is upset again. Doesn't want to leave the house. I think they actually did it on purpose because there is no way anyone can mess up bangs like this place did. There is an entire piece of bang completely cut off that will take at least 6 months to grow back. Don't go here! read more

I had a wonderful one hour massage by Shenandoah. She knows right where the aches are without my telling her and applies just the right pressure. This will be a regular occurence for me from now on. They charge $85. which is much less than the Marriott or Hilton. read more

After paying $130 I walked out with frizzy, undone hair. Fair warning ladies-the owner obviously pushes them to up sale big time and they must have to purchase their own conditioners and creams, because this stylist didn't have much of anything at her station. read more

I went here for a one hour massage, after listening to him talk to me and go over what he was going to do the final massage was about 40 minutes max. The massage was absolutely terrible, the worst I have ever had. I don't believe from the treatment I received that he was a licensed massage therapist. Absolutely terrible experience. read more

I used Salon Botanica for a desperately needed haircut. They were courteous and got me the appointment that same day. Being a Male, I'm always weary getting a cut at a predominately female salon. The spa was great! It was just what we needed. Four of us were vacationing in San Marcos and Spa Botanical came highly recommended. They were great at accommodating us so all four could start and finish at the same time. They were very gracious when we were running late due to a transportation mix up with our husbands. I gave this a three star because my stylist really tried ! I initially booked my appointment with another stylist (I was a new client and her hours happened to be fine with my schedule) The lady who took my booking was really unfriendly which usually is a heads up for what is to come- I travel a good deal and use salons throughout the U.S so I know that someone not customer service orientated on the front desk is an indicator of poor salon culture ! Well a few days later someone called to reschedule me with someone else - she was annoyed that I was not given to another stylist being a new client (not my problem I might add ) So I needed a color badly and in I go The receptionist was annoyed that she had to end her call and acknowledge me - My stylist was nice and her co - worker was really friendly and up beat - so bonus points there. My stylist was very messy with the color and I had splashes on my arms and on my shirt . It was expensive for what I got and the clincher was checking out - not even eye contact from the dour person behind the reception desk - not even a thank you ! The three stars are for my stylist who is I think good but needs some guidance and the other friendly staff members Zero for the receptionist read more
