Very expensive for a sub-par experience. The spa facility was sub par, dirty as well, but the actual service was terrible. I had an ok 50 minute massage, but the terrible part was the facial, by someone who knew nothing about skin care. She asked me what are my concerns, I responded my skin was sensitive currently. The "technician" started with a heavy exfoliating cream, she scrubbed with her heavy hands. I should have cried out in pain, I felt completely assaulted. She painted stuff 3 times on my face, removed the material with cold, rough towels, put on some lotion - and said all done. Very expensive, horrible experience. This spa charges the same rates as the Ritz Carlton with about half of the service and attention. It's a large spa with a private "quite" pool outside to relax at, read a book, and.......be quite. Not here! We went out to the pool between spa treatments to relax and be quiet. The "private spa pool" was packed! Every chaise lounge occupied. In the pool at 1:30pm in the afternoon we're six LOUD, and DRUNK, women. Cocktails in hand trying to out talk the other. We noticed lots of pissed guests and staff doing nothing about the posted rules of BE QUIET. Passed on that experience so we we went back inside. I went to the counter and asked if everyone at the pool we're waiting on or in between spa treatments. I was told, "Oh no! Most of them are locals and have bought spa memberships so they have access to the spa and facilities." I said, "the same ones we're spending $1,200 today to enjoy?" They asked me if I did not enjoy the pool. I told them that the six sorority girls inside the pool screaming and hollering in their late 30s and early 40s was a rather distraction for us as well as the other spa guest out there. The facial experience: RUSHED The $360 massage: RUSHED and missed several add-one I paid for. The lounge area lacked coffee, teas, nuts, and little snacks you come to expect in a spa. I enjoyed my 50 minute aromatherapy massage very much (they did try to upsell me on additional services when I checked in, as mentioned by my fellow Yelpers). And I also spent spent some time in the sauna and hot tub before heading downstairs to the outdoor pool area. The private pool is small, but so nice and very quiet. We visited the spa twice last week while staying in the hotel. Both massages were very lovely. I particularly enjoyed my treatment by Sylvina (I know this is spelled wrong, my apologies) - really made sure to tailor to my needs. Beware they try to upsell you at the front during check in and during the treatment - I was not advised the sugar foot scrub was an extra 25$ during the treatment). The spa facilities have their own outdoor pool with lunch menu available and poolside drink service. The area is quiet and peaceful which is a nice change from the busy hotel pools. I'd say this was a very relaxing day. We spent the day enjoying the pool , had lunch and enjoyed the sun shine. Time for the spa came to quick. Had a nice massage and the masseuse was good. The front desk was not very welcoming. When it came to sign in and time to pay they could have been nicer. Make sure you check your gratuity on both outside service by pool and in the spa. This is really 4.5 but not an option...and I cant quite justify 5 Just short of world class, the spa offers several massage options, a separate gym, its own pool (supposedly only for spa guests) and hot tub. It also sports separate mens and women's locker and sauna/hot tub/cold tub and steam. The staff was warm and friendly, provided a short tour, and poolside drinks towels and chaise service. The chaises were comfortable and the pool setting quiet, tropical and relaxing - a major plus compared to the packed and noisy main pool. My massage was very good, and therapist Susan provided a 50 minute "stress relief" session. The services menu is somewhat limited (no reflexology, or shiatsu for example), but does provide 50 and 80 minute sessions. Where this spa falls short relative to others I have visited: - Too crowded. Not a single chaise available. Not sure if non-spa guests are using this pool - showers are a bit cramped - some extra attention to cleaning detail around showers soaps needed - lacks a quiet area - a spot for post treatment relaxation and reflection without noise Overall definitely worth a visit and don't forget to use your Yelp discount! read more

I had a WONDERFUL experience visiting the Spa by JW. Everything felt relaxed and welcoming, and just the right pace. I could tell the front desk as well trained and appreciated how everyone went out of their way to make sure you knew her what to expect and how the whole locker room flowed. The other guests I saw were respectful and quiet, the lounge was quiet and well appointed, and my hot stone massage was one of the best massages I've ever had! Absolutely luxurious experience! The spa was beautiful, clean and the front desk attendants kind. They guided me to the upstairs women's locker room where attendants were of the same nature. They provided me with a robe, sandals, locker and showed me where private changing areas were which contributed to the luxurious nature of the spa. I was given a tour of the women's area: the sauna, hot tub, cold tub, balcony/lounge area and steam room. I had a remarkable results 100 minute facial with HarLeigh. She was so kind, calm and walked me through what to expect during my treatment. She was very knowledgeable about products she was using and let me know along the way which treatments she was doing and how my skin was responding. So thoughtful and mild mannered which was so nice along with the essential oils diffused into the room and the relaxing music. A definite must if you are staying at JW Marriott or live nearby. I am still bragging about my spa day days later. Talk about total relaxation! My masseuse was Victoria, and she was amazing. Prior to beginning, she explained what I was to expect which was a nice touch. We started off the day with a stress relief massage with hot stone enhancements. I knew immediately that I was in for a real treat. She massaged away all of my stress and muscle tightness. She even massaged my face. Trust me when I say you haven't lived until you've had your face massaged :). At the end she explained the importance of staying hydrated post-massage. I've always wondered why I was so thirsty after. Now I know! :) I rounded out the day by going downstairs for a shellac mani and pedi with Michele who was great also! She helped me find the perfect matching red for my hands and feet, which is all a girl needs in life to take on the world. She also had some pretty great suggestions for the local area. Scheduling was a bit of a headache for a group since they had to put one person at a time into the system. The person on the phone seemed overwhelmed by it so I was on the phone for quite a while. I also asked for a confirmation email twice and never got one. The website also states that they have spa specials and packages on a rotating monthly basis but when I called they told me they don't have any specials. We were a bridal group. They gave mimosas to only two members of our party and the bride was not one of them. We also had one person that couldn't make it and they still charged us the full price of the service. The woman doing the bride's pedicure seemed in a mood. They did give us access to the pool area while we waited, which I thought would be included, but I guess that was a plus. The space is beautiful and serene. But overall, I think that the service was lacking. read more

I had an excellent day at this spa! We were not staying at the Marriott and came in a day in advance to inquire about services. I made an appointment for a 25 minute express shoulder massage in the express suite. At $40, this was really worth it. Even though it was a chair massage, the chair was high tech. It was heated and had a screen where you could view relaxing naturescapes during the massage. I recommend wearing a loose strapless shirt for this. I also purchased a day pass for $50 and it was amazing! The locker room attendant Shelly was extremely welcoming. I arrived around 9AM (an hour before my massage) and she showed me around the facilities (sauna, steam room, cold and hot tubs, showers, balcony/lounge, hair dryer station etc). I tried a little bit of everything because I had ADD and didn't know what I wanted to commit to. I lounged on the balcony for a bit then went to my massage. Post massage, I lounged at the spa pool and ordered lunch. Lunch was very tasty - the lunch starts at 12PM and consists of smoothies, sandwiches and salads. Definitely check out the spa if you want a nice getaway - I think the earlier you arrive the less people there are, so you can have some of the space to yourself. I had three services during my stay in Marco Island at the Spa by JW. I had a massage, a pedi, and a mani. Due to my schedule restrictions (I was attending Tony Robbins' Life & Wealth Mastery), I had the services on different days. A great benefit of booking services is you gain access to all of the spa amenities for the entire day. This means from the time they open (and you check in), you may come and go all day. I took advantage of this, and spent the most time between the ladies room hot tub and cold pool. I also spent some time in the steam room, as well as the mineral pool outside. I didn't use the fitness room, sauna, outdoor hot tub, or lap pool - I simply didn't have the time. All three of my services were excellent. The women who provided me my services were friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. My massage left me feeling like a limp noodle, in the best way. Mackenzie and I discussed the benefit of switching between the hot tub and cold pool, in succession, to reduce inflammation (especially after a massage). Three weeks later and my toes still have the polish on them - only one tiny chip so far. I thrashed my fingernail polish within a couple of days - being in the Gulf, and handling luggage weren't friendly to the finish. The finish lasted long enough to get me through an interview, so I was quite content. I wish I remembered the names of the ladies who did my nails - they were lovely! read more

As a spabrat in desperate need of a day of relaxation, this is wonderful place to be. It's $50 for spa day pass and you get access to side by side cold plunge, jacuzzi, working steam room and sauna. And my favorite...the relaxation room with snacks, water, and tea. The robes were delightful and reminiscent of fine sheets. The outdoor area was beautiful with a mineral / Epsom salt bath adjacent to the private spa pool And outdoor jacuzzi. The service I chose was the express shoulder massage. It was 25min in a chair with your face pressed into and you watch blue planet of the beach while listening to an appropriate symphony. Gloria did a great job at alleviating the tension in my shoulders. She told me I need to drink more water and get more massages. Overall, it was $40 for the treatment. Whatever way you can weasel your way to getting a service and utilize these amenities, by any means necessary. read more

I have been here twice and absolutely love it. Looks wise, it is beautiful and clean. The atmosphere is very relaxing. You get a locker and a robe (probably the most comfortable robe in the world). The massages are amazing. The massage tables themselves are warmed. The second time I went I had Claudia and she was absolutely amazing and I definitely recommend her. I got a couples massage with my boyfriend and afterwards they brought us to a private balcony with lounge chairs and gave us champagne and pineapple. Everything was wonderful! I had an amazing 25 min. massage and a spa pedicure. The spa is beautiful and I used all the amenities that were open. Because of COVID their "wet" spa was closed, i.e. sauna, steam room and indoor pools. Every staff person wore a mask. The outdoor pool area was amazing! They have an attendant who works in the area and happily brings you water, towels, sunblock (if you forgot yours like I did) and a menu to order a light light. Stay away!!!! What a horrible experience! I've written this once on the "Marriot's Yelp" but I feel it's my duty to spread the word. On my birthday my boyfriend booked a wrap for me for 6PM. We arrived that morning just so I could use the amenities. The woman's locker room attendant did not show me around. She simply gave me a locker and that was it. My wrap was almost $200, so I asked if my boyfriend could use the mineral pool with me, & they said yes if he purchases another $30 day pass.... The man just spent $200, I don't think he's going to spend another $30 on an Epsom Salt bath... Which is what I was told by staff. My wrap itself was amazing. Sharon did a great job,.. But she was sad that I hadn't showered & shaved prior.. And was shocked that no one told me to. I had brought everything I needed to get ready for my birthday dinner. I DISCOVERED the hot & cold baths, steam & sauna rooms. I had to try them! That's when the attendant came and said that they were closing now. WHAT?! I was told to take my time and get ready at my own pace. The place closes at 7 for appointments, but for those who finished their appointments it is open till around 8-8:30.. So why is this woman rushing me?! I quickly took a shower, & started to doing my makeup.. She was hovering over me the entire time asking me if I was almost done.... So much for relaxing!!! The next day the supervisor credited my boyfriend back 20% & apologized, but it was not worth $200... STAY FAR FAR AWAY. Perfect! At the start of vacation I need a way to slow down and relax, it takes a while to let go of work and all the responsibilities. The spa was the best way to start. I had a massage and the technician was Raisa (ask for her by name). I've had many days at spas around the country and she was very good. Didn't chat (I wanted to relax and be quiet) but I'm sure she would have chatted if I needed it. Her massage was just enough pressure and I could have stayed for another hour. The Spa is a clear winner here at the Marriott Hotel on Marco Island. A true 5 star in service, product and amenties. The staff is welcoming, accommodating and professional. The services we had were two 80 minute deep tissue couple massages, 4 pedicures and 2 mani's. We used the facilities everyday and were impressed with the entire staff from the cleaning people, the front desk check in people, pool people, spa locker room people and so on and so on. I love seeing the management out and about walking around on the floor and the spa grounds. I never really saw Marriott Management walking out and about, maybe standing in the front lobby but not really out and about like I have in other Marriotts (Harbor Beach and Ritz Carlton's to be specific) but the Spa staff WAS out and about and it showed in the quality of the place. read more

My massage therapist Tiffany M. was AMAZING. I've had several massages at some very nice spas but I can easily say this was the best. She focused on my neck and shoulders and all my tension just melted away. If you have neck or shoulder tension YOU HAVE TO BOOK WITH TIFFANY. The spa amenities were also really, really nice. My daughter and I had a wonderful afternoon at the spa during our stay last week. They were super accommodating and got us both in at the same time, for same-day appointments one rainy afternoon. I was hoping to get a facial, but the only available slot was for a massage. But I am so glad I did! I hate that I always get the BEST massages when I'm on vacation, because I really need a good masseuse back home. I had Mackenzie (I think??) and she was the BOMB! Super knowledgeable and even gave feedback during the massage about what she was observing in terms of muscle tension, etc. The spa itself is lovely and relaxing, but pretty standard spa you would find at any higher-end hotel. Since I had my daughter with me I didn't get to spend time in the sauna, pool, or other areas of the spa, but they did tell me I could come back later if I wanted. My daughter got a mani/pedi and said she loved it. They also have a great shop inside, and carry Lululemon apparel, so of course we did a bit of shopping after our appointment. They were even able to add our services from the spa when we checked out in the shop, which was super convenient. Will definitely be back next time we visit! read more
