I think it's highly unprofessional to have a staff member of yours cancel on me because I was going to be 10 minutes late-15 minutes late, because of a car crash that had happened on the highway: and before I even got to say that you guys immediately canceled on me and had no sympathy at all. I had taken work off that day and everything for that appointment. And all for nothing. And yes, I did curse at your staff member. I said "what the hell are you guys thinking?" "Why can't I be helped otherwise or accommodated? Hell no, I don't want to schedule another appointment." And what do you mean I rescheduled my appointment in March? Your stylist called me and told me ON VOICEMAIL: the day before my appointment told me she was sick. Fast-forward two weeks later . Then two weeks later I call you guys and tell you I might be 10 to 15 minutes late due to a car crash on the highway and you immediately told me to reschedule. You don't even try to accommodate me in anyway so keep lying keep talking lies. That's a damn shame. So I'm so sorry you guys think "hell" is such a bad word. Also this is all after my appointment two weeks before was canceled by your stylist. Never had that done before by a stylist thought. Hell I would've taken a different stylist that day. I would've even waited . But you guys just immediately canceled on me. It seemed like you really wanted to get out of there. It was close to the end of your hours at the salon. Either way, it was extremely unprofessional and instead of accommodating me by having me go to another stylist you guys just canceled my appointment. Very unprofessional they do not communicate well with their clients. I'd recommend a more established place that cares more about their customers and clients. I've been Michael's client for years and have never left the salon displeased with the services. There is always ample consultation time, and attention to every concern I may have. I especially like that if I'm liking the previous cut and style, I can get it repeated, but when I'm ready for a little (or big) change, Michael can suggest a style, then execute it perfectly. I have been doing the curly girl method during covid, letting my super damaged hair return to it's natural curl pattern after years of straightening . I had been maintaining the same haircut (long, bleached ends, same length, minimal layering) in case I ever wanted to straighten it for a special occasion. After months of this and realizing my curls weren't living their best life and the fact that I never ended up straightening my hair, I felt it was time to get an actual curly cut. My curls are more even and coily, my hair looks super healthy--I've honestly never been happier with a haircut. This stylish, chic, and sophisticated salon is a must! I am so picky when it comes to hair and Salon Bastille delivered beyond my expectations. Michael, the owner, was able to schedule me for a last minute appointment. (One of those mornings you wake up and decide you need to change your hair color, haha!). I came in for a full highlight, and Kaylee worked diligently for three hours - for such a beautiful result. She is so personable, funny, and knowledgeable about her work. She gave helpful suggestions, and helped me find my best color. The salon itself is nestled in Montgomery, and is easy to get to. Parking is behind the salon. I just moved to OH and was looking for a new salon, and after doing my research on Yelp etc. decided on Bastille. Oh my goodness, I'm so glad that I did. Jenna is amazing! I loved the results right away, but now that I've been home for a few hours and have really taken in the changes, I like it so much that I had to come on here and rave. She took her time to examine my hair and the issues I had (from prior treatments) and made really great recommendations based on those facts. But she still left the final decision totally up to me, no pressure. I went with her main idea, and the color is perfect. Made a huge impact but still looks natural. The cut is also super clean. Kaylee cut my hair and I usually get super nervous on trying new places to cut hair but I was super pleased with kylees work! Came to get a haircut over memorial weekend. I didn't have any idea what kind of cut I was going with, just needed some hair chopped off...kind of spontaneously. Anyways, I was greeted and offered something to drink which was nice! I was assigned to Ghiovanna, who kindly helped me through the process, she is super friendly and easy to talk to, gave me a nice shoulder length layered cut , I was very satisfied with how it came out ! I was in town visiting a friend and decided to get a shampoo and blow out. Ghiovanna (spelling?) was my stylist and I can't thank her enough. She was professional and listened to what I wanted. I had asked for my hair to be curled and she suggested that I try the curling wand instead of the curling iron. I said sure but she could tell after spending a lot of time on it that I really wasn't that happy with the results. I would have lived with it but she insisted on retouching it with a curling iron. She listened to my current and future plans for my hair. She also was careful to get a feel for how my hair behaves (or doesn't behave, to be honest). Salon Bastille is a trendy boutique-styled salon, located in Old Montgomery, BBQ-sense tinglingly close to the original Montgomery Inn. The place is very clean and sheek. The owner prides himself on having a staff that is passionate about never feeling completed in his or her craft. All staff members constantly take new classes and attend conferences to keep fresh. I had wobbled in and out of several salons in various places in Cincinnati. I was always left with a mellow feeling. My experience was fine, but not great. My hair was OK, but it wasn't really what I wanted. I learned about the salon through reviews, just as you are reading now. When your hair is cut wet, sometimes you can be surprised by what is unveiled after the blow dry, but this method shows it all. I made an appointment for a haircut at Salon Bastille and was able to get in later that day. I was considering a drastic change in length and indicated to the receptionist my concerns. She put me on hold for a minute so I could speak personally with the owner. He patiently listened to my hair catastrophe and recommended a stylist who had short hair and could help me with my move from long to short. The salon has a relaxing atmosphere and my stylist, Lydia, took great care to listen to all my hair concerns and together we worked out a style and cut that I was most comfortable with. Lydia was comforting and attentive, and took care to explain to me the best way to style my hair and explain her reasons for cutting my hair the way she chose. She asked for confirmation that I was ok with the cutting technique she was using, which made me so comfortable with my choice to take off a considerable amount of length. After the cut, she gave he her card and told me to call if I found any part of my cut and style that didn't work for me, and assured me she would fix it. Not that I needed it! My hair has garnered so many compliments from friends and even strangers! I loved the final look, and was utterly content with the service within the salon as well. I was personally consulted by the owner after my cut, and felt that the people working at the salon were genuinely concerned with the quality of the work and service within the salon. I came here on my wedding day this past Saturday with the intention of getting a conditioning treatment and a blowout. What a joke. Never again! I found Salon Bastille in Elle magazine, listed as the best salon in Ohio and was shocked to discover how sad my experience was. Tiffany was super sweet but all she did was layer my hair in product and ran a dryer over it, barely even taking a brush to it. $47 later my hair was still wet and my bangs were sticking straight up. I complained to her and she just kept saying that the woman doing my updo later at home could fix it. Sigh. It was so bad my mom was supposed to come after my appointment to get a blow out and I cancelled it for her. When I got home she as my stylist were horrified, my hair was flat and oily. Perhaps their other services and stylists fair better but my opinion is unless you want to look like a sea pup after an oil spill, avoid this place. And unlike after an oil spill, nobody tried to make this right for me, not even on my wedding day. Gross!!! read more

They were extremely accommodating and professional. The location is great too - you can park in the back and enter through that way. When I got to the Salon, Kayla cut my hair. I was having a pretty drastic haircut and she listened so carefully and was extremely receptive to my concerns. I showed her pictures of what I wanted it to look like (I had the same style a few years previously and wanted it to be very similar). She spent extra time on my hair tailoring the cut exactly how I wanted it - and she was so nice! I was treated extremely professionally and will DEFINITELY be going back in the future.
