Omg i lovvvvve this place! I have been going to Salon Blonde for over 7 years. I absolutely love my stylist Casey. She is absolutely amazing and a great listener. The first time we met, I had asked her to do an oil slick dye job on my hair and I thought it would be a challenge because my hair was very dark but She so nail it so hard. I absolutely loved It was beautiful but bright but subtle too. It was for my son's wedding and i got so many compliments. Then came back in 2021 for the same oil slick dye job for my daughters birthday vacation and it was gorgeous. I felt Amazing and so beautiful, so thank you so Much for this. I love coming back to her for new fun hair. She's super friendly and great energy. I love the vibe of her work space its just pretty and shiny. She has super fair prices for haircuts and especially dye jobs and she does bright colours too. I always love giving her the reighes and letting her have the lead and let her do her. to me she is the artist, I'm the canvas and every time she nails its so hard, i just adroe her. I came back to her recently for my 40th birthday look I threw two ideas at her and told her do you. I'm loving the short hair and I'm getting so many compliments over it. I am not sure if the low-rated reviews are due to a bad day or pickyness [and we have a right to it - it's our hair!], but I think that to harp on them on a public forum [that potentially affects their income!] before attempting to fix the problem is unfair. If I know anything, it's that every one of these ladies take great pride in their work and make every effort to please their client, and hey, if your hair does not look the way you would like, tell them! I've seen all of their work, and they are nothing short of fantastic. That said, if I ever want something changed or trimmed more or what have you, I will casually mention it to Casey and she will literally pour her soul into fixing it even better than I expected. She purposefully books enough time to make sure she does your hair right, and if she has extra time between you and her next appointment after finishing your cut, she will perfect every inch of your hair until both of you are completely happy with it. I have never had a stylist do this before! To top it off, she does a great job. I've gone through a hair transition from waist-length hair, to chest length, to shoulders, to A-line, to a pixie, and I have only gone to Casey for each cut. Every haircut has looked entirely awesome and I felt I could rock it each time. If you're doubting trying out Salon Blonde due to the few bad reviews below, I would say give them a shot. Sad to say that I won't be coming here anymore since I'm moving back home to the Bay. Liz did a fantastic job on my hair for the three appointments that I was there. On the third (and last) appointment, I decided to go for a short bob, and Liz was so patient and focused on the details. Seriously, Casey does amazing hair. I have been going to someone else in town for cuts just because I've been with them since freshman year of college, but I knew that Casey is an absolute expert in color. So I went in for my *very first* dye job ever (yes, she's that special! Tehe). I have a lot of Asian hair, and she was patient, thorough, and treated my hair with such respect. She helped me what kind of ombre to go for this time around and I really trust her taste and judgment. I freaking love my hair!! Could not be happier. And what was awesome was that I discovered how great she does with cuts as well. She's a perfectionist--a lot of other people I've gone to can let me walk out the door, only to discover on my own that a strand here or there is sticking out / clearly the wrong length, etc. Not so with Casey! Once I find a stylist I like, I stick with them for as long as possible. I loved my hair stylist in L.A., but long distance travel to maintain my 'do was not feasible. After researching different local salons and talking to classmates I settled on Salon Blonde. I called the salon for an appointment and Sherri answered. I told her I was looking for someone to do my late 60's/early 70's shag cut and she immediately understood the style I was describing. Thankfully Sherri had an open appointment the next week and I decided to take the plunge. Thank goodness I did! She listened to what I wanted, carefully studied the structure of my hair, followed the lines of the cut, and frequently sought feedback on the length, layers, and styling. The outcome was exactly what I had hoped for! And it passed the home styling test too...looks just as good as when I left the salon. I'm so relieved to have found a great local stylist. Both my mother and I have been going to Charity sense before she start Salon Blonde. She is fantastic! My mom has very curly hair and every stylist she goes to does everything within their power to straiten it out. Not Charity, she gives my mom a hair cut that not only fits her style, but also requires no maintenance. I love her becuase she has been there for me since middle school. When I wanted purple hair during my rebellios phase she came up with something that not only please me, but even made my mom happy. Every time my wife gets her hair cut by Adrianne for the next week and a half complete strangers are commenting on how they love her hair. I went here to get my haircut before finals awhile ago and the lady who cut my hair was nice, and had a good idea of what would go well w/ my face shape and all that. I had no idea what I wanted my hair to look like, just something new and a little less boring than what I had. I had told her I wanted to have a hairstyle w/ out cutting off too much of my hair but also one where I wouldn't have to curl or straighten my hair everyday. So she gave some layers and only had to cut off a couple inches. She instructed me how to style it, which was mostly blow drying and a curling iron (I had specified that I didn't spend a whole lot of time on my hair usually.) It looked great when I left but the real test is when you go home and try styling it yourself the next day... I was able to recreate pretty much what she had done, which was great. But unfortunately I had to use a curling iron a lot in order for my layers to look good. While I really liked the style and the layering (and the stylist) I was tired of having to use a curling iron daily. That's sort of the opposite of what I wanted. It started to damage my hair almost as much as my flat iron so I stopped and after a few months had passed I switched it up. This isn't to knock on salon blonde because overall I was satisfied. In the end though, the stylist gave me a great hair style but not one I could easily manage and style in just a few mins...which is what I had originally asked for. I would maybe go back again but I graduated and am not in Davis anymore. Also the location is behind Peet's so it was a little hard to find at first. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Casey! She made me a white/silver platinum blonde about 6 months ago and has been doing my touch ups since then. I've been growing my hair so she's given me a few trims too. She's super receptive to questions and feedback and stresses every time I come in that if I'm not totally happy to just call or text her (I've never left unhappy). I also got married last month and she took extra time and care to make sure the color was perfect for the day. She's also just a cool person to talk to while getting your hair done. I've been coming to Aubrey, one of the salon owners, for three years. When I moved to Davis I looked all over town for a great stylist who was both professional and not drastically overpriced for my student budget. Aubrey is amazing and has always given me a great haircut. She uses Enjoy products, and has given me great recommendations for things to use at home. I've also gotten a deep conditioning treatment at the salon, which I highly recommend for those who have long, or sun/chemically damaged hair. My only complaint is that she is becoming so popular it is hard to book an appointment sometimes! read more

So far so good. Sometimes I just HAVE to cut my hair and it has to be right away. I was lucky Casey had an opening. It was about a month ago but I waited to give this review to see how it grew out. I got very nice compliments right after the cut. A lot of people said it made me look younger. Then even friends who prefer my hair shorter said the shape was good. Also it's growing out very nicely! I came for the first time back in April and came back again today. Now I really feel like I have to write a review so I created a yelp account just for this. I LOVE this place. I came here when I wanted to do a purple ombré because it seemed like a good place to do out of the box colors. I was right! First of all, when I first went there and said I wanted an ombré the person who was there said that Liz was the best person for an ombré. Liz was on vacation for the next few days but they told me I could come back then and make an appointment with her or just make one with someone else right then. I really appreciate that they were willing to put me with the person who they thought would be best for me and what I wanted done. I'm so glad I made an appointment with Liz because she is amazing! The first time she tried to do the purple ombré it didn't take too well, but she was super apologetic about it and said we could make another appointment to fix it and that it would be complimentary. After the second appointment I was so happy! Liz was super excited about doing my hair and I could really tell that she loves what she does. And my hair was awesome!!! I was worried about the color at first when she dried it, but she could tell and she took me out into the sun where my hair practically glowed purple! For my appointment today I wanted a burgundy ombré and once again she did not disappoint. It's a pretty burgundy but also a bright red in the right lighting. I love it, but she also said if I wanted to change something in the next couple of weeks that I could make another complementary appointment. I also got haircuts with my ombrés which I loved as well. Last week I had my third appointment with Liz at Salon Blonde and I could not be happier. Every time she does my hair, she finds a way to impress me more and more! I tend to be very picky with my hair and never enjoyed having to get it cut, but since Liz started cutting my hair, I've looked forward to my appointments. She always makes the cut beautiful with perfect layers. And if you're indecisive about what you want to do with your hair, (like I totally am!), Liz is one of the only hair stylists I've been to that has been able to be just look at me and know what to do, and I love that about her. Also, last week I decided to have LIz give me highlights, which I haven't done in years, and they turned out absolutely beautiful, and exactly how I wanted them. She didn't even have to test the color on me, I just described what I wanted and she knew exactly what to do. I wish I could attach a picture for everyone to see how nicely they turned out :). I don't think I've ever had so many people compliment my hair in one day before! Also, Liz is great at giving tips on how to style your hair in ways that will prevent it from getting too damaged. She also knows just which products are best to use and are the most affordable. Finally, not only is Liz one of the best stylists I have ever been to, she is also such a sweet girl and so easy and fun to talk to, as are the other stylists at Salon Blonde. Everyone is so friendly and easy to talk to, and it is such a great environment, which I think is a really important quality in a salon. This is definitely the best salon I have been to in a long time, and I recommend Liz to anyone who is looking for a beautiful cut or color, or both! read more

Unfortunately, the customer service that I have received at Salon Blonde since the cut has completely turned me off. I do NOT think I will be visiting this salon again, which is a shame because I really liked it the first time. I ***seriously*** called Salon Blonde five days in a row trying book an appointment with Casey, leaving a total of three messages without receiving a call back. On the fifth day of calling, she picked up the phone I was able to book an appointment with her for the upcoming week. Two hours before my cut, Casey called me to say she had to cancel my appointment and would be out of town for the next ***three weeks***. She did not offer to reschedule with me, nor did she set me up with another stylist at the salon. When I explained to her how frustrated I was with the whole experience, she told me she was going on her honeymoon. Now, of course I understand how important this time in her life is (my own wedding is coming up) but it is NOT an excuse for a complete LACK of professionalism. I am really disappointed. ***EDIT: since posting this review I have been contacted multiple times by both the stylist and the shop owner to apologize. They obviously care a great deal about their business and I believe that this may have been an atypical situation.*** read more

I first went in not having had a proper hair cut in 5 years. Casey listened to what I had in mind and did a wonderful job. I have been back three times since! This is the only place in town I will go. I can't afford to go to the salon monthly and my haircuts need to look good while growing out. Each cut has fit the bill. I don't get to the salon very often, but as an end-of-the-schoolyear present to myself, I decided to spring from some highlights. Last summer I attempted to go blonde myself and ended and bleaching (and subsequently ruining) my hair, a mistake from which it still hasn't fully recovered. I've colored it several times since then; once immediately after to fix the disaster I'd created with the bleach (I employed the help of a professional for that one), and then once or twice over the course of the school year with some drugstore hair color (only going darker this time. I learned my lesson). But, with summer coming up and everything, I thought some blonde would be a welcome change. This time I didn't kid myself; I'm obviously incapable of handling anything beyond a simple dye job so I made an appointment at Salon Blonde after reading the glowing reviews here on Yelp. I saw Casey a few days ago and told her my hair's life story to see what she thought would be the best course of action. She was pretty straightforward with me, telling me that going too blonde probably wouldn't be the best idea given my frequent coloring and the current shade of brown my hair was. That being said, she found a nice shade of blonde to complement the lighter shade at the tips of my hair (I guess that area had retained some of the bleach from last summer, which was a big reason I went to the salon in the first place) and evened everything out with some toner so the blonde wouldn't end up getting brassy. The toner won't fully work its way out of my hair for a little while still (when it does, my hair should be even more blonde), but I can already tell it's gonna look great. I really appreciated her honesty and concern not only for how my hair would look right after, but also weeks and months down the road. And, on top of everything, she was a cool person to chat with. Usually I get bored getting my hair done, but not this time. To summarize, Salon Blonde is a great little shop and Casey was an excellent stylist. She was very attentive and honest about what I should expect from my highlights. I'll definitely go back here when I need my hair done again, especially since as far as highlights go, it wasn't too expensive. read more

I Love this salon!!! I have been seeing "Liz Robson" for about 3 years and couldn't be happier. Aside from always getting an incredible haircut and highlight and, believe me my hair is not easy, I always leave feeling uplifted and pampered. Liz absolutely loves what she is doing and it shows in her styling and attention to her clients. I don't know if Casey was just having an off day but I definitely would not say she does amazing hair cuts. I gave her a picture of an asymmetrical a-line bob and she gave me a sort of bob with some weird choppy layers in the back. It's like she forgot about the picture and just did whatever shit she wanted to do with my hair. Definitely not worth $40. She could tell I didn't really like it and she was trying to be nice but she was all huffy. I think she was just tired and hungry. My haircut isn't bad enough for me to get it fixed at Pom Salon where I usually go but didn't go this time because I was trying to find a cheaper place, but I don't like my hair cut and I don't feel pretty. so. I'm being generous with the three stars. But maybe I'm just really picky about my hair. read more

Liz is amazing!!! Having thin, blonde hair makes it very difficult to find someone who knows what to do with fine hair and how to make it work. I told Liz what I thought I wanted, and she gave me the best haircut I have ever had in my entire life! As a college student, it's a little on the pricier side, but still affordable, and absolutely worth it for the amazing work she does! I went to salon blonde a couple of months ago. I hate to write reviews but after started looking for another hairstylist I noticed that maybe my review will help someone else. Well, the sad story started when I moved to Davis almost one and a half year ago. Without any success, I have tried to find a decent hairstylist that help me take care of my A-line. My hair is super straight and very dense which seems to be an enormous challenger for the average hairstylist. After visiting 5 or 6 salons, no one had gave me an even haircut. I went to see Liz after reading these reviews and others on Davis wiki, I explicitly asked her that I do not wanted layers on the sides and that I wanted to keep, as most as possible, the length. After finishing the job my hair looked nice, but the day after once I wash it, everything changed. She did exactly the opposite that I asked her, and now I have to live with my horrible hair cut until I find another hairstylist with a better technique. I was incredible disappointed, so please be aware that maybe here, you will not get the perfect haircut that you want. read more

I am so happy with my cut from Casey at Salon Blonde. She has amazing instincts and works to give you the result you want. I hate styling my hair and asked for messy layers that would just dry naturally and didn't need to be styled. The result is exactly what I've always wanted my hair to do. Casey is a life saver. Sometimes you need to schedule a bit in advance, (as mentioned in the review a few down) but Casey is always friendly and does her best to get you in. In my opinion, most decent stylists have a bit of a wait and it is well worth it for a stylist that is good enough to be in high demand. She does all her own scheduling so it's not like there is a receptionist who schedules her stuff for her. Given the prices, the service, and Casey's amazing attitude, style and skill level, I wouldn't go anywhere else for a cut in this area. read more

Liz Robson is FANTASTIC! She definitely knows how to cut fine / limp hair (like mine) . Most stylists want to cut massive amounts of layers into my hair - which inevitably end up looking like a staircase up the back of my head because they don't understand how my hair will look as it grows out. I've been to Liz twice now - the first time she had to 'fix' years of bad styling on my hair...she did a great job and it grew out very nicely. I have been to many salons before here and there but no one is as awesome and really sweet as the people from salon blonde! Casey was my hair stylist that day and she was super accommodating and concerned about my hair and style from start to finish. I wanted to do something daring-a new change for a new year so I decided to go for a a-line bobcut with some bright popping colors! I went with a pretty set idea of hairstyle but a vague idea of what I wanted as colors and was open to ideas and she recommended ombre style for the color and I listened- and my hair transformed in her hands like rainbow magic!! I know that many girls are afraid of big changes but I'm young in college so it's now or never! No regrets! And as soon as I left the salon I received many compliments and many more stares from people which I loved! Yay thank you Casey and Salon Blonde for such an amazing hairstyle and service!! I feel like this place is one of Davis's best, little kept secrets! I just had my haircut by Casey today and I loved it! The client service was excellent and she did an awesome job on my hair. I am usually very picky, in that I have been going to the same lady for almost 10 years. I recently moved to Davis and heard/read nothing but good things about the place, so I decided to check it out. I was not disappointed. Coming from Arizona, where everything is cheaper, I felt the prices were very comparable and affordable, even for a student. Overall, I am very happy with the final results. Not only was she friendly, but she was super attentive to detail and gave me exactly what I was looking for. I appreciated the time she took and how she checked in with me and double checked with me before cutting my hair. I would definitely recommend her to other individuals! Casey is probably the nicest and most enthusiastic stylist I have met in Davis! It's hard for me to go to my usual stylist in Sacramento so I was really scared to go to someone new here in Davis. She was recommended to me from a friend and I am so happy with the result! Casey is my favorite stylist and there is a good reason she's been cutting my hair for 8 years. Not only is Casey able to color to your heart's desire (seriously, I've seen her pull off some of the coolest coloring jobs), she gives a great cut as well. I trust Casey enough to tell her to just trim or cut my hair and do what she thinks is best and this has never disappointed me. She will always fix something if you aren't satisfied with it and is incredibly patient with hard-to-please clients. I've never seen Casey "huff" about anything, so the reviewer who stated that, I find hard to believe. But hey, you can't please everyone and even the greatest of talents will have critics.
