This place used to be decent, but it's gone way down hill. The past two cuts I've gotten have been disastrous. And it's way more expensive than it used to be. I'm a man with longer hair. I always ask for the same thing at every barbershop: trim and keep the layers. Supercuts has completely messed up this simple request twice in a row. Last time, the stylist merged my layers together, leaving two clearly visible 'tiers' of hair. This time, the stylist deleted the layers entirely, effectively giving me a bowl cut. Even worse, one side was about an inch longer. Not only are the haircuts bad, they cost almost $40 after tip.

I dont believe she really knows how to cut hair. Sure boys and men where she uses trimmers, but she doesn't seem to understand she is supposed to be able to make both sides even. My hair looks worse than it did when I went in. I've never had someone who was cutting my hair blame my hair for being uneven. I literally asked a couple different times for her to fix it better. Cut more here, make it even. She insisted it was okay. Aren't we supposed to be able to get the haircut we want. 3 times she has done what she wanted. I got my hair cut day before Thanksgiving there by someone else, she did a fantastic job. Even, took her time, did what I asked. She knew what she was doing.

Once the gel color was applied, I asked for what I thought was a fairly simple leaf design. The first attempt unfortunately looked very messy and uneven--almost like a child had drawn the leaves. The second time I came in, it was a waiting game. I understand they were really busy since it was commencement weekend, but it seemed very unprofessional to not let me know how late they were running, especially since it was almost an hour. No one apologized or let me know I would be waiting more than just a few minutes. I rushed in because I did not want to be late and had I known I would be waiting 50 minutes, I probably would have stopped to eat or buy a drink before coming here. Anyways, I liked the makeup they did. It was exactly what I asked for. But the haircut was not. For reference, my hair was very long before, past my butt, and now it is barely below my shoulders. I kept reiterating that I did not want it short, and that is exactly what I got. I also wanted my hair in layers, and it is barely in two layers, not what I wanted unfortunately. Now I have to wait another two plus years to grow it out again. (Paid $252 this second time) I think the person in charge could definitely be more professional. He is also the one who washed my hair the second time I went in, and I honestly do not think he knew what he was doing. Not only did a lot of water get in my ears, but my back got really wet, and he forgot to remove my towel. I probably would not come back here.

I usually don't write reviews, but I'm this case, it's so worth it. I am very picky about my hair and wanted to make sure I got what I wanted. I have waist long hair length and looking to get some highlights and long layers. I came in to Picasso Salon and immediately felt at home beautiful and fun! This place is so cool and I was greeted by one of the stylist she sat me down and really understood my needs. My hair looks fabulous just what I wanted ! I have been going to this salon since my freshman year and now I am a junior! I am from Sudan so I have very thick, curly, frizzy hair. I've visited multiple salons and this is the only salon in Davis where I am able to get an amazing blow dry. It looks fresh, it does not frizz up and lasts my days. I am a regular customer! Not only do I get the desired hair style that I want but it always feels like I am walking into such a family atmosphere every time I visit!
