One of the rudest, most unprofessional "stylist" out there. First time I come in, Jess let me know an hour before my scheduled appointment that another stylist would be doing my hair. First mistake. She did not know what she was doing, she was calling Jess on how to proceed on coloring my hair. She left an orange ring on my head.. My hair is dark brown/black and I wanted a brown violet/red. I lost 3 hours during my first visit because I was told to come back another day so Jess could do it herself. .. I don't understand why she wasn't there the first time Fast forward I come back on a Friday. To be there from noon all the way up until 8pm. Yes. 9+ hrs The process was never explained to me until after she messed up and I had to come back a third time. Jess left around 4 pm to get chick fil a and left me in a chair for over an hour. She finishes at 8 pm - charges me 400+ 2 days later.. my hair looks like a hot Cheeto. I texted Jess to let her know I need to come back and she stalls!!! She kept pushing the time. Saying she was only free after 9 am, then saying 8 am was good. She ends up getting there after 10 am. I also brought a close friend who she rudely shut down and told her she wouldn't be speaking to. When I brought her because I needed the support. She sits me down and dyes my hair. Has me sign a liability waiver and doesn't blow dry or straighten my hair bc I had to step away to take a work call and I come back and she's with another client- she never said sit down I'll have another lady do it- no, she completely ignores me This lady has known my family for years.. I once admired her work ethic and how she treated others!! @salon blu, you lost me as a customer and my family of 6 who would come to you for every single need. You should be ashamed of yourself. Ladies if y'all need someone who's going to to respect your time and hair pls look elsewhere. The amount of tears, money, & hair I've lost throughout this process was not worth it and I don't wish it upon anyone else. Look elsewhere!! read more

I was on vacation and my daughter asked if, I chotos take her to get a haircut at this salon. I said ok, I then booked the appt online fir 4 pm . then the day off I receive a txt msgs that it's for 3pm . It's 2:54 on my watch. we rush to get ready to leave now mujer you it's about 39 min be away with traffic of course we were running late. I txt them because, I was driving at the time and let them know I was running late. They txt me bk and said u should cancel because the tech wouldn't be available at 3:30. I don't have pictures of when it was first done bc of how embarrassing it is it's not too far off from what was originally done. I didn't mention a specific stylist but i was told that the lady who was helping my wouldn't be in that day but jess would be helping me out and was given her business card. At this point i think y'all are just making things up to "save" yourselves from a bad review, i have never ever used box dye on my hair before and the ppl who did my hair were aware lol. I've desperately was in need of hair care. But I needed a beautician that was going to listen to me. I had been to Salon Blu many years ago. I was happy to discover that some 10 years later this location still exists. I called and Jess managed to get me in at 5 she listened to my needs and wants and began to cut away. Jess did an exceptional job on my hair! I left the salon loving the cut and knowledge of how to maintain the look on my own. Went here today people were nice and I have gave them a good review while waiting for my hair color to be done but the end result put me in tears. I asked for my hair to below my shoulders by a couple inches but it's above them. The color is all wrong the highlights look terrible. When I said it was to short she said oh it will grow back. I have blonde highlights and went in to have the base lifted to extend between highlighting. I'm trying to grow my hair healthier and its much healthier if I extend the time in between with a base lift at the part where there is darker regrowth. I made an appointment for base lift and cut. What I ended up with was an orange red base around my part. I was told when I noticed- that is was just the lighting. I came back for another stylist to fix the mistake. She put a toner on my hair, which only made it worse. I had to go to work for two days with orange hair on my part. It looked horrible. I got no apology really, except "I'm sorry YOU didn't like your hair." Nobody likes orange hair!! Not just me! I was able to get in with a different stylist at another salon and to fix it over the weekend She had cover as much as possible with highlights again, to bleach out all the orange. (So much for extending time for me between highlights!! UGH!) However, we didn't bleach my whole head so I've still got a good bit of orange on my part. I was extremely unimpressed with salon blue. I probably would not have written this review if I at least gotten an apology and the realization of the damage done. My advice: Just be honest- if you don't know how to "lift the base," don't jack up someone's hair! Not funny! read more

Gave this place a chance after so many good reviews but I had the most horrible experience. She messed my hair up so bad and I waited months for the appointment. As a walk in, i was greeted by jessica and josie. Asked who was best in color-- they both said they both were color experts. Jessica was busy, so went with josie. Explained what i wanted, didn't want, asked for swatches. Just wanted to blend gray.Picked a neutral 8N, but then she said we had to add addl color, or it would have the "yellow" ashish color i didn't want.?? That is first time ive had anyone mix in two more colors. 3 total. I told her again and again chk it, didnt want too dark, etc. Perhaps it was her boyfriend stopping by, waiting to get a cut. Then she shampooed him.. blow dry...all the time im getting more and more anxious, reminding her of the time. Then her "appt" walked in and they're waiting..etc etc. Told her i had to get rinsed!!! My hair was HORRIBLE...gray didn't cover...and the rest was lighter and gold/yellow ash. How does that happen??? Think she might have done bleach cap, cuz roots had nite bern in color for an hr and 15 by time she finished. Have very long hair. Taking a seat to blow dry myself to look, get next appt came in...and thenshestarts telling me, thesewere the colors i picked, etc???? Reallllly!! ...it looks good..she could add some more color, make it darker..etc.. LOVE when hairstylists critique other hairstylists color jobs--and ASSURE you they know EXACTLY what they're doing..and you'll LOVE IT--but when it's disastrous, they are perplexed and try to minimize their disaster!! Sweet girls...but if you want COLOR...keep driving..WORST EVER!!! Then she said she's not going to charge me!!? Realllllly?? Omg..wow..thx cuz had to spend $160 for corrective color at different salon next day. Still messed up, but i dont want anymore color on it , 3 days in a row!! I've had so much done to my hair throughout my life. Color, cut, trims...you name it. My haircut from Amber is one of the best haircuts I've ever had. I waited to review until I washed/styled it myself because that's when you really learn what kind of haircut you've gotten. I went in as a walk in (which I've also never done!) and I'm happy to say that my search for a hair professional is over. I didn't even have to flat iron after blow drying and that *never* happens to me. Somehow she managed to cut enough to give me healthy hair but also left amazing length. Perfect balance! On Saturday I had an appointment for a blowout at 9 AM before an event at 11 AM. I arrived right on time and I proceeded right away in the wash chair. I clearly let the stylist know that I did not want conditioner used in my hair because it would not hold a curl if conditioner was used and I asked for voluminous curls. I directed this to her before she started my wash at 9 AM. After she had already started washing my hair, she told me that she decided to put conditioner in my hair anyways and she had already done it before I could ask her to stop. It was already too late to change what had been done so I hoped for the best and proceeded into the chair for my blowout and style. Now, to put this in perspective, whenever I receive a blowout elsewhere, it typically takes no more than an hour for a wash/blow dry and style. She started my wash at 9 AM and at 10:15 AM the stylist was still blowing my hair dry. My hair was still damp at the roots when she began to start curling it. As expected, the curls would not hold because she had put conditioner in my hair after I asked her not to. She attempted to curl my piece of hair multiple times and it didn't hold. At this point it was already 10:30 AM and I had to arrive to the venue to prep for my event at 11 AM so I asked her to please straighten the pieces that she attempted to curl and let me leave. I was extremely frustrated because I had been in the salon for an hour and a half and all the stylist did was wash and dry my hair...especially because this is something I could do at my own home in 30 minutes. I proceeded to the checkout counter to express my frustrations and was still charged for a full blowout. I had no time to fix my hair before the event and it was left undone for a professionally photographed event. Also, it was still damp when I left and about an hour later once it fully dried, it was clear there was product left in my hair as became extremely greasy. I went here a few months back and the owner ,Marquette , did my hair. I have been bleaching my hair for years and the only problem I've had is a brassy root. I brought her my exact formula from my prior salon( just recently moved) and boy did she go sideways. First she asked if I wanted to pull through a cap! Shoulda ran then! My hair tired out orange and when she toned it it turned blue, pink, red, every color but blonde. Her staff kept looking at me with wide eyes and I think one was snapping pics. I was in tears. I begged her to stop so I could leave and get someone to fix it but she put more bleach on my hair and told me it was a toner! I felt the bleach so I washed it out myself. She looked at me and said "sit down and let me fix it because I don't F$&k up!" She was hysterical at that point and said " you're not planning on paying me are you". I asked for a hair clip and left her salon with blue green and orange hair, went strait to another salon and it was corrected as best as could be without me losing my hair. After months of deep conditioning, color corrections, not applying much heat, and much care my hair is finally starting to look ok. It was a nightmare and besides maybe cutting men's hair or something simple I would never ever let this woman touch your hair. I'm shocked she is even in business.
