But, looking for a new stylist I decided to try an Asian stylist. I liked the work that Jessica had up on Yelp, so I booked with her. I'm so glad I did! First, she is very personable; no attitude, just friendly and positive. Then she gave me a great cut. I'm so pleased with it...I took photos a couple of weeks after my cut so you can see it still looks great. I don't need to fuss or style it...I blow dry it and it just magically looks great!

Based on all the great reviews Kym had, I booked an appointment with her a week ago, and I am so glad I did. Kym is amazing!! She listened to everything I had requested out of this devacut and more. I am in love with the outcome of my hair. She took her time and cut every curl by curl before the wash and after my hair was dryed. I will definitely return here in a couple months when it's time for another cut. She even gave me samples of the two new Deva products which I have wanted to try, plus used one in my hair. She is beyond fabulous and doesn't charge an arm and a leg for her services. I believe she also rents a space for a massage therapist. Her salon is located near other cool shops including Staccato Gelato. As noted by other reviewers, she is immensely popular and doesn't often take new clients. I have to make sure to book at least two months in advance for my next appointment. They do not have a receptionist and the voicemail will direct to contact each stylist to book your appointment. My hope is she will open again when it is safe for her and the other stylists.

They actually are pretty good at givng you a haircut that they think matches your personality, but when I first meet someone, I don't tell them my life story, so I think they thought I was a reserved asian chick that wanted something conservative. 2nd offense was that I had brought in a picture of exactly what I wanted and what I ended up with was no where close to the picture. 3rd offense was I even asked if she should be cutting it at an angle because the back was supposed to be shorter (like the picture), but she said no this will be better because it will all grow in evenly. I didn't care if it did or not, I wanted my desired haircut! After the whole thing, I hated the haircut. She basically gave me an entirely different haircut. My bf said he liked it, but that's his job. It was the first time I think I missed LA. My last haircut was perfect, required no maintenance, looked great even if I rolled out of bed, and only cost $20 because it was my 1st cut with them. Now it's just a big pouf-ball w/ bangs & all for $65. Props for interesting convo, friendliness of employees, a trendy space, & a good attempt, but I think I will skip off to elsewhere next time.

We seemed to be on the same page. I arrived for my apt and Ann very through address my concerns and spending 1/2 hr with me to go over exactly what I wanted. At the end of 1/2 hour, Ann reiterated what I wanted 3x. I wanted greys grow out naturally. My hair is a dark ash brown, but I needed a correction on the bottom half of my hair from other stylists trying to add dark ash brown that always turn auburn. Ann did let me know that this is natural when adding dark ash brown, it will eventually turn red. During our consult, I was also very clear that I did not want additional color added to my hair because I was growing everything out to embrace my grey. I'm sitting in her chair, all of a sudden, all my hair is in foils. this is not what I wanted, but I was trusting myself to the professional of 20 years. When I left the salon and got home, my hair was red. I contacted her with pictures, not once did she owe up to the mess I had. She said she would like to make it right, but in the same text was fine if I went to someone else. Her idea of fixing it was to refund my money, which she should have, then to leave me high and dry. I was informed by Ann to never contact her again because apparently I was not kind in my delivery of how angry and frustrated I was. I do not write reviews, but I am HAPPY TO WRITE THIS ONE.

Kayla really takes the time to listen to me about how I want my hair to look - color, cut, everything.
