My daughters had full highlights & a haircut here. I was a bit sketched out by the location and the salon could use a bit of updating but who really cares at the end of the day it's about the hair results (& with this economy not everyone can afford the updates). When I came in the environment did not feel the friendliest BUT by the end of the appointment both ladies that did the girls hair were so sweet and their hair turned out GREAT! I would definitely recommend more enthusiasm initially. I am surprised that there are not more reviews for hair they really did do an amazing job! My son got me a groupon for a mani pedi for Christmas. So sweet! They are really busy! I got an appointment for the Saturday that I wanted. They were able to get me in earlier than my original appointment. Bonus!! V did both the mani and pedi. She is very professional. Fun to chat with. Does an awesome hand massage!! I purchased a Groupon 2 weeks ago for a mani/pedi. I called 2 weeks ago to get an appointment scheduled so I can get my nails done before my birthday. I scheduled my appointment for Feb. 10th (my birthday being Feb. 12th), they called me the day before, Feb. 9th to cancel my appointment and said I can reschedule you for 2 weeks out. Absolutely absurd. Horrible first impression I do not recommend this salon unless you want to wait 4+ weeks to get your nails done. Oh and don't even think about booking something I'm advance that's time sensitive, because you can't count on them. Waste of my money on Groupon. Now I have to spend double and HOPEFULLY get in before my birthday. I'm completely appalled. read more

I just went in to get my hair done, and when I said I felt uncomfortable that she washed and blow dryed my hair prior to bleaching and that I didn't want to continue, I got yelled at by multiple women in the store. I think the owner came up and was nice and said I didn't need to pay i cancellation fee (even though I said I would) the girl doing nails continues to yell at me. Never going back. UPDATE: the owner just called me and told me I was wrong and that her nail girl didn't yell at me bc she watched the video. My wife and I flew to Utah for a wedding this past August and sought a salon to get mani/pedis. We understand that some places get booked and it is not as easy to get an appointment on short notice. We contacted 'Salon by Design' in hopes that we could make an appointment for the both of us. Unfortunately, we were greeted with a dismissive attitude and were told "go to one of those Asian places" in a snide tone because they were booked for days. I can not recommend a place that doesn't respect their clients or the work of others. read more

Really nice staff and clean place but perhaps not enough experience. I had a $60 Groupon to get highlights and to style my hair, had to pay an extra $20 for going over the allotted 4 oz amt for color and then I tipped $20 so total was $100 and I spent 3 hrs thIt was recommended that I get a balayage which I had no clue about but was excited because I was told it was more low maintenance and would blend well with my previous highlights. It was more of a bleaching session than highlights and it's not blended at all so it's just dark and then blonde. I do like the blonde color but now my hair is uneven all around and it looks like I did it myself. Additionally, I never went under the dryer after the bleach was applied (that was a first) and when she was applying the bleach she didn't really part my hair like I have had in previous years. She just kind of brushed it everywhere. This is why I never try new places and I stay with the one person who I've gone to for years but the Groupon was a gift so I decided to use it but I will never do that again. My stylist was Ashton and she was really sweet, she took her time and didn't rush and her hair looks amazing so maybe my hair was just a fluke. Either way I'm just sad and disappointed and now I have to spend more money and go back to my normal salon with my tail between my legs. read more

I like when someone is actually excited to do my hair which today happened to be a big ol mess with sally dye. Buyer beware. I purchased a groupon for a mani-pedi. There is a $15 charge for removing your polish in addition to what you've paid for groupon. The manicurist cut the nail bed with clippers and tried to super glue it to stop the bleeding. They only had many a dozen colors of polish. They do not have chairs installed yet and so the pedi was in a home pedicure bowl with my legs up on two plastic crates. Won't go back. read more

The place is great and the people are friendly BUT I had a bad experience, my hair didn't turn out how I wanted at all! I asked for a balayage and I wanted my hair lighter so she bleached my hair but she didn't blend it at all! So it just goes from dark brown to blonde. And my ends are fried! She was very sweet but I don't think she really knew what she was doing or maybe she was rushing. She did stay almost two hours after hours to finish me which I appreciated but I think she just wanted to leave or just didn't have experience. I still tipped her but I am so upset and disappointed. read more

Poor girl had to deal with my tangles and had to refill the color twice but she did great. Gave me a little head massage with my deep conditioning. And cut and styled it great. I have been acquainted with the owner for over 15 years. Besides being an expert at what she does she is friendly and a joy to be around. All of the artists at this salon are held to the extremely high standards that the owner has for herself. I get my hair and nails done here as well as eyebrows and pedicures. Everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. I would recommend this salon to anyone. This Salon sculpts which very few, if any salons do anymore because of the amount of time it takes. If you want beautiful nails, sculpting is the way to go. There are no short cuts taken here and you will be treated like the king or queen you are. After I finally got my appointment set I called to confirm that day and time and was left on hold until I was hung up on.
